Very capable of answering lots and lots of questions and very clearly knows the history of Monterey. It was actually amazing! You are picked up at the dustbowl brewery which is the old train station in Monterey. Much of the tour is done inside the bus, which is modern and clean. Then, when you get to a number of different destinations, you get out and you can walk around and explore. It's very well organized. I think it was about two hours. I was surprised I was able to get reservations on the same day, but we did. I would totally do this again and highly recommend it!

Instead, after waiting outside in the cold for a tour that would never happen, we just drove by the other areas as it was too late to enjoy anything. I do think that they should mention that you meet at Colton Hall when they give you the address, instead of just giving you the street address. My son and I had to wander around the neighborhood for a little while to figure out where to go. Luckily, we heeded their advice to get there 15 minutes early so we were still able to be on time.

My daughters (age 9&7) were thrilled to see splashes ahead and looked hard to find a whale and very excited to see a mom and calf humpback whale right after that. We also got lucky and saw a blue whale. Isaiah gave some info about blue whales and they took it all in. I was a bit worried about how it would go as my oldest daughter has autism but she felt comfortable enough to take herself off to a quieter space (indoors) when needed. It was also a small enough group that it didn't feel overwhelming for her. Overall we had a great time!

Captain and the woman with us were both wonderful - really friendly and informative, taking time to explain everything, answer questions, etc. They both also had such a deep and genuine love of the ocean, which was really lovely and infectuous. We saw tons of humpback whales, feeding, a breech, and had like a hundred dolphins swimming with the boat for a looooong time, which was such a special treat. Both the guide and captain were so nice, and knowledgeable! I understand that our cruise wasn't usual, as there was so much activity - however we saw SO many whales. We could see no less than 3 at a time, and many were within 10-30 feet of the boat! An amazing time, both my 6-year old and I were thoroughly impressed :)
