The service is standard, waitresses speak Russian, Czech and a bit of English, and they offer menu in Russian, Czech and English languages. The only problem is that the smoking is allowed, so when the smokers get in (which happened once during my three visits there), the air can get a bit thick. Usually there's always a table available for 4-6 people, but if you're going in a bigger group, the reservation is recommended. They also have TV with Russian TV channel which is always on and the second TV screen at the bar showing sport.

It's not really a traditional sit-down restaurant--there's just a small bar-style seating area--but don't let that stop you. This place is all about the food, and it delivers. Service was excellent, fast, and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. If you're anywhere in Prague and craving authentic dumplings, this spot is a must-try.

The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. At first glance, the waiters looked well presented, but with a bit more observation, the illusion faded. Some had sagging pants, untucked shirts, and most concerning, repeatedly inappropriate hand placement while on the floor. It happened more than once, which was uncomfortable and distracting (see photo). Overall, the place feels very pretentious without delivering on substance. The food wasn't anything special, and the desserts were average at best and certainly not worth the hype or the attitude. I wouldn't recommend Cafe Imperial to friends, especially if you're expecting a warm welcome or standout desserts.

I ordered fresh mint tea and it came in a cute stacking pot with a serving of honey nestled on top so it was warm and easy to pour. I ordered the gnocchi ala carbonara off their special menu and it was so good, pillowy and rich.
