It was plainly obvious to me that everyone working for them genuinely enjoys their job, and that spirit effused itself into the whole group. The tour starts at the local port, which was easy enough to navigate. Anyone leaving via the port has to pay a simple 4 pesos charge as you are technically leaving the country for awhile and have to be re-screened when you re-enter. Buying this, and the security process on both ends was quick and without issue. They give you a quick orientation, and advise you on what you'll need to have a good day. This same information is in the emails sent to you prior, so none of it is a surprise. If you choose, there are places to buy reef-safe sunscreen, hats, and other items like cell-phone bags for underwater use in the waiting area. Once you get on the boat, it's just a constant party, and our group loved it. Tropical drinks and cervezas flowed endlessly, fresh fruit, energetic music played, and the crew kept you hyped the entire time. The boat ride itself was smooth to all stops, and the wind was refreshing in this tropical paradise. Out first stop was snorkeling on the reef in the Marietas. While this reef is long since sun bleached and fairly devoid of color thanks to climate change and increasing water temperatures world-wide, there is still a fair amount of marine life to see. The guides were helpful and safety conscious but not intrusive. They called people over if they spotted any rare sights. It was enjoyable but not breathtaking. The next stop was a beach party. Swimming, drinks, buffet, waterfalls, and lots of wildlife. Macaus were everywhere. The water was beautiful and clear. The food was absolutely delicious, and much appreciated after the activities. Again, no problem getting a drink, staff eager to serve. The ride back was the biggest surprise, in what could easily be a let down moment, the crew put on basically an 80s and 90s hits lip sync performance and show, complete with costume changes. Super engaging, hilarious, and really... a genius way to earn some more tips and keep a simple ride-back more fun. All and all, would book with this company again if and when I return to Puerto Vallarta.

This was the second time we booked Mikes. First time was last year where we had an absolutely…read moreamazing time. However this time was drastically different. I called twice to confirm pick up location as we booked through CC and it automatically defaulted to other location. The women stated she didn't care what they confirmed they had it at other location. They did not call when we did not show up and didn't seem to care because they already got the money. Initially she claimed it would take 2 hours to get another boat but then magically was able to get one there in an hour after we finally contacted them which was 2 hours past the scheduled time. They provided a "future credit" for two people for a group tour as "compensation". The women was very rude on the phone. I asked her to speak to the gentlemen's who I spoke to the previous day and she indicated he was not in. Be aware when booking and document everything. In addition, the captain did not walk us out of the dock which was required to be let out. Another captain had to open gate. While their reply states they did not have our information. It is able to be seen I had two conversations directly with them and attached the photos showing their number.

The snorkeling was at Los Arcos and even though it had rained heavily the night before, we saw incredible fish and eels! There was a photographer on board to document our trip (not part of the base fee) and everyone was super friendly. Be prepared to tip the crew at the end. We were not better prepared and while we left a tip, it could have been better. Highly recommend! We will book in the future!

"Guided tour" can mean more than one thing…read more It can mean, "We're going to ferry you into the jungle in comfort, sharing interesting bits of history and descriptions of the local culture with you while you sip water and enjoy the scenery." In this case, it meant, "We'll give you the keys to a car (a stick, which luckily, I can drive) then one of our guides will drive ahead while you follow him, and you'll stop along the way so people can show you how they make stuff, then you'll be pressed to buy their stuff." Ah, well. I don't mind being pitched, as I have no trouble saying, "No, gracias." Plus there was a lady making hats that were very cool, though my wife muttered, "No" as we walked up, reading my mind as I started picking out my new hat. The problem with this "adventure" was that I didn't think through the situation: if I was driving, I wouldn't be able to see anything but dust flying up from the guide's car ahead of me. But it could have been worse. Imagine if I'd ignored my wife's comment and bought a hat?

I appreciated having the crew explain how to operate the ATV, safety advice, and how they followed along with the riders making sure we were all OK and taking photos & videos. The ATVs were well-maintained and in good working order. We had no breakdowns or operational issues among our tour group. We enjoyed the views and the stops along the way where we got to try making tortillas, and having a snack by the cool creek. We also stopped for a tequila tasting, which was informative and fun. The tour started at the Estigo facility in town and we were escorted out of town by the Estigo guides. It's a bit bumpy riding in town on cobblestone roads, but as soon as we were out of town it was smooth riding. We did a morning tour, so I struggled with sunlight in my eyes, which proved to be a bit concerning when rounding corners as we headed up the hills leaving town. I admit to white-knuckling the early part of the ride. Once we were in the foothills, I was able to relax and enjoy the surroundings. I booked this tour on my own through the Estigo website, which made it a much better value than one of the cruise ship excursions. We also had a smaller group and just took a cab from the cruise port to Estigo's faculty. I definitely recommend Estigo if you are looking for a fun activity when visiting Puerto Vallarta!

We had the opportunity to try tacos that are eaten during the day more so in the morning. He was knowledgeable of the area and his personality added that extra touch. We loved it so much we booked a breakfast tour along with an evening taco tour. By the end of our trip we felt as if Memo is part of our family. We loved everywhere he took us. We loved it so much that we returned on separate days to eat more of the tacos and food he introduced us to. You know he is well known and liked when everywhere we went people would stop to greet him and he remembered each and everyone. I am not one that is a huge fan of animals, but I will say that the staff was very friendly and really was patient with us and the animals. The food was amazing! It may be a little pricer than other areas, but you are paying for the experience with the animals too. There is no cell reception at this location, and there are signs to swim at your own risk in the water below the restaurant. I really wish I could have done a canopy tour that included the zip lining as it looked awesome from afar! But I was still happy to settle for eating sat the restaurant and interacting with the animals. Pro tip: if you're American and paying with a credit card with no foreign transaction fees, be sure to have them charge you in pesos to your card. You'll thank me later

We went on a Whale Watching tour in middle of January considered peak time for the whale watching…read more The online booking was easy. They communicate nicely to make you understand where you have to come and understand that there are additional port fees. After paying in Mexican Pesos, short lineups and within a few minutes on a boat. We were amongst the first so we got good seats on the front top deck. People were told not to go out in the front, but people still do. The boat does a stop and picks up more passengers. We do see some whales who breach. What we see are the tails and fins most of the time. The smaller boats go a lot closer to the whales. It is dangerous for both the boat and whales. We are safely at a distance. Sometime all we see is water spouts. You have to be really lucky that the whale does a full breach - jump out of the water. We see some dolphins as well from far. They too don't breach fully. You have to be lucky as well. The service is good. They try to make it funny as well. The food served is OK. For vegans you get bread and roasted veggies. Juices and beverages are served as well. Overall an OK experience. Lower your expectations - What you see in pictures you may not see. Ends slightly early than scheduled. If you are taking a water taxi from Malecon, you can also see whales as we did.
