Baba and Hummus skimpy on pita
Scott P.

Ok - I was really eager for some lamb, Baba, hummus, ... Mediterranean cuisine. Food was good, acceptable and location was convenient. Portions were large and their fries were terrific! I'd rather have airplane visa miles but I try to pay in cash to help small restaurants during Covid. Just as another reviewer posted "do you want your change?" he asked. I was surprised and annoyed. I said, " yes, I do." Then I asked for change for a $5 bill, and tipped him 20% for take out ... no thank-you or acknowledgement at all from him. Imagine my displeasure when I arrive to a spot in the park (after a long walk) and sit down to eat. No utensils, no napkins - Great! Thanks buddy! I like it best, when people take pride and do their best. If it's slow, make sure everything is just perfect for a guest who's going out if their way to support you. Not a half-a**ed effort. Also suggest someone clean up the front entrance, pretty grungy.

Falafel
Sarai L.

My new favorite (non-Mexican) restaurant in town. So so good. We came to have a beer and dinner on a Thursday night. The place was pretty dead (not unusual for Los alamos) and there were only two servers. We got the hummus appetizer with Pita, falafel side, combo plate with chicken that came with rice and salad, gyro with lamb and fries. All of the food was so good. I loved my gyro. Probably one of the best I have had and the fries are the best in town. The falafel had great flavor and the salad had the perfect amount of dressing. The rice was also flavored perfect and pita wasn't dry, which happens a lot. I don't have a single complaint about the food for this visit. The only bad thing was we ordered a beer the $4 IPA and it tasted bad so we asked for the $6 one instead, which was much better. the service was good, but I think one more server there would have been better. Overall,I can't wait to go back for more!

Brik a Loeuf plate
Monica G.

Take out one star because of the chicken is kinda dry in the tangine also the service. The waiter and waitress are nice, it's just they do make me feel that they are really tired. Especially the girl, her voice is so low that we can barely hear her. The brik a loeuf is amazing, I loved it, Greek salad can lose some dressing, I don't like my lettuce drenched in yogurt sauce. I do like their mint tea, it's not very minty though.

Easily some of THE BEST Mediterranean food I've ever had. It had such good flavor and we couldn't stop eating it. Our waiter was amazing and recommended multiple things to us while having great knowledge for the food they provided. 10/10 service! The building is so cozy, it feels like you're sitting down to eat at a families house, not just a restaurant. It was incredibly welcoming and I recommend to anyone who's in Taos, NM!

Unlike other experiences I've read about, we did get waited on promptly and food took about 20 minutes. The indoor area was eerily quiet-they could have added some music to enhance the ambiance. Otherwise, it was cute inside. I got the tofu shwarma-not something you'd typically see on a Mediterranean menu. It was minced and came on lavash bread. Very nicely seasoned. The rice was also really good-elevated from basmati rice with various spices and raisins. The side of veggies were so so-those were a little too oily and overcooked. Large portions and friendly spot. It's a unique dining experience and worth trying if you're looking for something different in Taos.

After waiting quite a while, I hung up and called back. This time, they took my order quickly and efficiently. I hadn't been here since they were in their previous location across the street, and I was really impressed with the new dining area. It was clean, well-decorated, and had a lot of open space. The front counter staff seemed a bit awkward or shy, I couldn't quite tell, but it was fine. They let me know my order would be ready in about 10 minutes. In reality, I waited closer to 20 mins todal, but it was absolutely worth it. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter, and it did not disappoint. It came with a delicious side salad made with fresh produce, a light dressing, and generous chunks of feta cheese. The platter also included some of the best hummus I've ever had, along with pita bread for dipping, though I honestly could have used a little more bread. The main dish featured tender, well-seasoned chicken served over rice with a creamy cucumber sauce that I could not get enough of. Seriously, this stuff was dangerously addictive. I'll definitely be back, and next time I'm bringing the whole family!

The market side has a lot of options and they even carry Nabulus cheese. :)

This is a major hidden gem of Santa Fe -- perhaps our best meal after living here for a month. We…read morehad the Mezze for 2 and the Tajine for 2, and both had wonderful flavors and a variety of spices without being hot spicy (though you could add harissa if you wanted to). We're normally big meat eaters but we're very, very happy with the vegetarian dishes here. The Mezze came with falafel, eggplant, salad (outstanding flavor), hummus, and very good hot pita bread. The Tajine was a delectable and we loved the presentation of it in the traditional clay pot. It had slow cooked vegetables (carrots, zucchini, sweet potatoes, etc) and was partially sweet with dates. But the highlight was the Moroccan mint tea, served traditionally in glasses and poured from high up. I haven't had tea that good in awhile (and yes I go to the Teahouse). Warning -- this is a BYOB restaurant, so bring your bottle of wine with you (and save money). Will definitely return.

A little tough to find the entrance to the restaurant--enter The Body studio main door in the middle of the building, and then the restaurant is nestled to the far back and left of the front desk. Low mood lighting makes it hard to read the menus but you can use your smartphone flashlight. Great service with in-depth explanation of each dish. We ordered the signature traditional tajine, the mezze platter, and a plant-based chicken shawarma plate with potato chips. I enjoyed a dirty chai and a family member enjoyed a Kacha'va superfoods smoothie with chocolate. A delicious vegetarian/vegan Mediterranean feast! I enjoyed the different spices, textures, and flavors in the mezze platter and tajine. Plan to spend $30 plus per person if you get a beverage.

For years, their samosas were some of the best: perfectly seasoned potato filling in a lightly friend pocket alongside some date chutney sauce. On their updated menu, samosas were listed as 25%, so I went for 2 thinking the portions were as they had been for the last 15 years. Sadly, this was not so. They were more like tiny hot pockets, baked pizza dough, with a rather bland, flavorless filling. Alongside a #3 cup of veggie of the day and $16 later, I realized my journey with Annapurna had come to an end, and I would not be returning. Also, I noticed the oat milk being added to the $7 oat chai was Kirkland brand, which consists of: (filtered water, organic rolled oat flour), organic sunflower oil, calcium carbonate, organic natural flavors, sunflower lecithin, sea salt, vitamin A palmitate, ergocalciferol (vitamin D2), riboflavin (vitamin B2), and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) . Some listings also describe it as fortified and organic, with no added sugar noted in one review source. I'm not an Ayurvedic doctor, but these ingredients and the quality of the food have declined considerably over the last years, which is sad. Such are the times...
