Went to drop off a UPS package and at the door was greeted with a sign with something along "not accepting packages over 2'x2'x2'. My box was 1'x1'x4'. So appears larger but is technically 4 cubic units less then 2x2x2 but they didn't understand and they kept saying can you read the door. I walked the package from my apartment in the heat and explained I walked and it also had to be dropped off by noon and it was 11:30. They just said "OK. Read the sign on the door." So I had to pick up my package and walk all the way home. Beware of this dimension thing at this UPS access point. read more

The woman responded " I don't know but you can check". She said it with such a nasty tone! I have cleaned a few pieces here over the recent months and have been very happy with the results and prices. Another well reviewed cleaner in the area shattered the buttons on a silk dress and did not tell me, whereas this cleaners carefully wrapped all the buttons to avoid damage. They have cleaned all my silk items without damage and have removed stains. I have seen some negative reviews, and I think dry cleaning can be a risk of disappointment, but I have been quite happy here. read more

I'll never come back to this cleaners and I highly recommend you stay away too. I've been here more than once, and it was overpriced but fine. I then purchased a leather jacket in Europe and it was musty so I took it in when I got home and VERY clearly said I only wanted the inside lining cleaned and not the leather. The woman working at the front only told me that they send it out to a third party to be cleaned and that it would be $69. Steep, and more than I paid for the coat itself, but I wanted it to not smell like an estate sale so I said yes. I went back to pick it up yesterday and not only is the leather incredibly dry and crusty now, but the inside smells the EXACT same as it did when I dropped it off. I went to the store to ask for a refund and they were combative and rude and told me that you can't just clean the inside--something they conveniently forgot to share when they were taking my money. What a shoddy operation they're running here. Save your money and go somewhere much better. read more

Tried to get a new pair of denim altered here because of some gaping in the waist. The gap isn't huge, but I like all of my clothes to fit me perfectly so tailoring is a must to get a crisp look. They told me that, because it was a small alteration, it wasn't worth tailoring them - that they would still charge me $30.... I mean, do you want my business? I don't care if it costs $30 to get a small alteration done, not if it gets the jeans to fit me better and look more clean. I told her they I didn't mind paying $30, but instead of going with my choice she referred to the tailor on staff - who went along with what she said. They both appeared to be very inconvenienced at the thought of making minor alterations. I've literally never run into this sort of reluctance while trying to get tailoring done. So, if you're someone who cares about good tailoring or if clothing fit is important to you then I would probably go to a more specialty shop. That or to a place that provides real customer service. It's obviously at the discretion of the business to provide a service, but my assumption is that they may have said no because they're incapable of doing a good job. I love this place and always come here for my tailoring and dry cleaning needs. They're very prompt and reasonably priced. Most recently, I had some patches sewn onto a jacket (see photos). When one of them wasn't on straight, I asked for them to redo it, and they did, no questions asked and for no additional charge! I have been a customer of Q and Q for several months now. I love that I can make my order directly on the Yelp app. I can also select pick-up and drop-off times at my apartment at a convenient time based on my schedule! Even if I'm not home, they'll kindly leave my items at the front reception of my complex. They make everything so easy, and it saves me so much time! After trying many services that pickup and drop off both wash and fold as well as dry cleaning, I may have just found the right company. They have been great with everything. They pick up on time, drop off on time, text me with any questions or changes. And the cleaning has been great. So far no complaints, no weird smells, no lost clothing, no ruined clothings. I say this because I have experienced this with multiple other services (most documented here in yelp). They are not the cheapest, but I have learned the hard way, to focus on service and quality when it comes to cleaners. I hope thing continue well with them. I really like them and to have finally found a service to last. I have waited several months to report as my previous experiences started well and ended poorly. For now, I would have to say these are the best in DC that I have found. And of course they are gluten free :-) read more

Sent my parents here for their dry cleaning and they profiled my black father, as well as raised the price up when my parents went to pick up their items. They called my dad and told him a cell phone was stolen and asked if he had stolen it. They gave a description of a black man that did not remotely match my father. I dropped a pair of silk pants to be cleaned and when I picked them up, they had shrunk (both in length and in the waist). I called to let them know and they did not apologize or admit any wrongdoing, they instead told me I "must have gained weight." As if I could grow 4 inches AND gain weight in my waist all in the two days they cleaned them. I just had my anthropologie lace dress with underlay hemmed here. Im new to the area and didnt read any negative reviews and since they are under my building I gave them a try. They did an EXCELLENT job! The hem was lock-stitched with white and immaculately over stitched with green exactly as it was from anthropologie! I was so shocked at how good it looked I had to try it on to make sure it was actually re-hemmed! And yup it was a full 4 inches shorter. Liner and lace were hemmed for $25. And they did it in 4 days! A+!!! read more

Men's shirts: $1.65 Suits: $11.50 Narrowing some trousers: $20 I haven't gotten my clothes back yet, but they do have a fitting room so you can try on the clothes they'll tailor in house. Saves time so you don't have to worry about getting home and stuff not fitting! I'll post a more solid review when I get my clothing back. I also had them remove a monogram from a shirt, for which they said they wouldn't charge me. Really great folks! read more

We've been customers of the Q and Q Cleaners on Park Road for years. They are truly exceptional. They have rescued so many of our belongings -- from the ottoman cube covered with red wine stains to my beloved Mrs. Claus cap. Their attention to detail with both the items they clean and their customers is incredible. On my husband's last visit, the employees remembered that he had taken our holiday linens in the previous year so would be all set for Christmas dinner. While the cleaning service is great, their UPS drop off services are not. I dropped off 6 packages on June 30th. They do not have a scanner and simply take your packages, saying that they will be picked up by UPS. 3 of my packages have yet to be delivered to the return center. Find yourself an actual UPS store and get a scanned receipt of your items. read more

I took in my super old vintage-y dress and blouse which SMELLED like vintage too, and I told Q and Q that I hoped these smelled like new after dry cleaning. I was asking for a lot, but it worked! My husband & I have had multiple items dry cleaned here & are always happy with the results - they even give you a reusable dry cleaners bag to carry your dirty items. I just started bringing items to be tailored here & so far am pretty happy with the results. The other day, I dropped off a delicate dress from CUSP to be tailored & picked up the next day before noon, it looked great! My one negative is, one person will measure & pin the alterations to your item & another seamstress will make the alterations. I always seem to get a phone call the day of pickup asking if I can come back in to try on again. It would be nice to not have doubt in this handoff & the seamstress to measure the alterations herself. read more

Q & Q did an excellent (and speedy!) job hemming a floor length, two layer, silk chiffon dress. I got last minute tickets to an inaugural ball last Thursday, ordered a dress with overnight delivery that arrived Friday, and needed tailoring completed by Saturday. I dropped off the dress at around 6:45 on Friday evening and picked it up at 5pm on Saturday. Despite the rush, I was charged $35 (which is the same price I've been charged for similar dress hemming at two other dry cleaners in the neighborhood). The women who were working both times I went in were helpful and friendly. The hem was very well done and exactly the right height. The store also has a true fitting room (rather than merely a curtain) which made changing in and out of the dress in order to have measurements taken more comfortable/less awkward. I have not yet brought my dry cleaning to Q and Q, but I certainly will in the future. read more

This place has done a fantastic job over the past few months since I moved to U st. Prices are at or just below market--shirts are 1.65 i believe. Quality has been fantastic. Unlike most dry cleaners who break the buttons on my shirts and then just leave them, they actually replaced all the broken buttons without asking--even the ones that were broken elsewhere. My pressed suits come back looking amazing and the shirts are pretty good. They don't usually get the shirt collars quite right, but they don't roll them completely either. read more

they did some patch work for me that was a little shotty but in their defense the hole was pretty large. they are the fastest in the neighborhood as far as my experience and the price is pretty good (got 2 shirts, a sweater, and a pair of pants done for $15). they also added a button to a shirt sleeve that had fallen off a month earlier and did not charge me anything for the repair. This is the best alteration place I've found in DC in the 6 years I've lived here. I've been to probably 10 others (including high-end, expensive ones) who have either been mediocre or hands down bad. I brought a lacy dress that had been previously altered at another place in as a last-ditch effort to save the expensive dress. It's a lacy dress with some difficult closures making it hard to alter and they did a fabulous, fabulous job! After the first alteration it was still a little baggy in areas and they took it back to make more changes without charging me more and now it fits like a glove. I have gone here for years. The woman is unfriendly, rude, and does not admit to when they make mistakes - i.e. ripping hems, breaking buttons, etc. The tailoring work is subpar and the specialty item I just gave the to clean - they kept for weeks and didn't bother to call me or have it cleaned because they had a question about it. I went to pick up my jacket for a holiday party and was disappointed it still has a big stain on it because it sat there for weeks. When I asked why they didn't call me, I got a shrug. No apology. I live in the U Street corridor with my boyfriend. Prior to my encounter, my boyfriend serviced his clothing here on one other occasion. Considering the location to our residence, my boyfriend asked if I could drop off another round of his clothing, including one suit and a few traditional collard suit shirts. I agreed. The following day I prepared to take his clothes in and decided I would add two of my own shirts. Accordingly, I include two basic collard suit shirts in with his load, and figured I'd be charged the same rate as him considering that two collard shirts are essentially two collard shirts - regardless of gender. Unfortunately, I was disheartened to learn that when the bill came I was charged $5.75 for my two collard shirts and he was charged approximately $1.88 per shirt. I realized that my shirts were rung up as a "blouse" but his shirt were rung up as a standard collard suit shirt. Not surprisingly, this made me upset. As a woman, who is required to wear a suit to work every day, just like my boyfriend, I was saddened to learn that this place charged me more for my dry cleaning. Although my boyfriend and I both wear a suit to work everyday, I learned that my collard shirts (and I don't mean blouses) cost more to be dry cleaned than my male counterpart. I was offended when the bill came. I felt like I was discriminated against because I was a female. Ultimately, this made me feel like women are not only compensated at a lessor rate than our male counter parts, but now we're being charged at a higher rate for dry cleaning than our male counterparts. The idea that this place charges more for a female suit shirt than a male suit shirt is arbitrarily discriminatory and unfair. I'll advise that if you're a professional female and wish to get your clothes dry cleaned I would go to a place that treats males and females equally. read more

Q and Q did a nice job hemming my very long dress with hand-beading so a hem can be tricky and costly. It felt like a steal to get it for $55. After one wear, some of the hem has separated and some beads have thus fallen off but it can be repaired (I think). It's at the bottom mostly so it's not ruined for future wear. read more
