Really enjoyed this place for the Island Social portion. We didn't go to the casino we went to the Duck pin Bowling and the arcade. The staff was great and really checked in on us. The beer selection was good and the food was great as well. If you haven't tried duck pin bowling it's a great time and a great way to waste some time away. read more

The Q Show Room is the worst!! Remodeled, an updated, it's so wrong. They went backwards. There is no seating in that area at all for free concerts or any concerts. Everyone is standing, everyone is pushing everybody's rushing. The stage, it is one of the worst areas in that casino. They need more tables more chairs. The Bands are GREAT but the ROOM IS THE WORST!!! After standing and being trampled for 3 hrs they as in the bar has the nerve to charge $6 for a luke warm beer and expected a tip. I love the band we went up to see, but sorry guys, we will come again with that room like that! read more

Casino's that are non smoking not only see higher gambling and attendance but create a healthy environment for employees. This casino chooses to put their patrons and employees at risk by allowing smoking which is very thick as soon as you walk in. I only was there 1 hour and now my cloths smell and my eyes burn. We visited the Q last night. I will say the slots are extremely tight. It is a beautiful place and nice atmosphere. My complaint was with the Island Social in the upper part of the casino. We walked in after spending $4000 in a few hours there and the hostess had turned the sign from wait to be seated to please seat yourself so we sat at booth that needed to be cleaned for over 20 minutes as the manager and the waitresses talked and walked around us. I finally went to the bartender and asked if somebody was going to wait on us or what's going on. He called someone and the manager came over and rudely decided to tell us that for future reference, you need to wait to be seated, which I responded with, That's not true. The host had told us to find a seat wherever we wanted. Did that change anything for the manager? No, they still didn't clean the table. They walked around the manager and another woman, laughing and joking, went to the back room. Finally a waitress who told us she had been there for 10 hours was nice enough to come clean our table, it wasn't her area. She cleaned the table, took our order, but nowhere to be found with this manager. Terribly managed place. Waitresses walking around, an extremely rude manage, terrible service. It's sad because it really is beautiful looking. Will likely not be visiting it anytime soon. read more

I was at this place and was getting a cash advance the machine didnt give me a receipt but the screen said to go to the casher window . I did and they said there was nothing they could do without receipt i showed them on my phone that the money was taking out of my account, They did not care at all and thought that i was wrong, Then someone from the back came up and i told him what had happened he did not care at all and told me to call the number that was on the machine . I did call and the verified that transaction went though and that i should have received the cash , i even let the person speak to the person from the machine i had called. he was so unprofessional and did not care at all that i did not receive my cash . they just did not give a crap about there customers . Decent casino. I was shocked and thrilled it was not filled with smoke. People were smoking but mostly everything filtered out quickly. A couple times people were smoking cheap cigs and that wafted over and was nasty but overall very tolerable. Lots of seniors gambling. There were plenty of tables and slots open. We saw Kings of Radio in the Q room. Way smaller than other casino theaters. There were a few tables and chairs scattered in the room but it was mostly standing. The sound was bad. Very disappointing. It was tinny and distorted. The sound guy must have been off that day. Bartenders were friendly. Definitely not a Vegas casino but okay for Dubuque. read more

Have your IDs ready when you walk through the door or thou shall not pass. I really like this casino more than the Dejope chains, it's much less smokey and the center bar in the casino is reminiscent of the casinos in Vegas. The blackjack tables had really friendly dealers, maybe that's how I was able to turn a profit from my measly $20 buy-in. Most BJ and Roulette tables were $5 minimum. The Video Poker machines are in the back, just look for a sign on the wall towards the back. read more

The table game dealers are very personable and most of the time all at the table have good conversation and fun. I would normally give the Q a 5 star but I had a super bad experience Thursday night at the Easton Corbin show and according to numerous people that were standing around us, so did they. We were standing pretty much in the center about 4 people back when a group of about 5-7 girls that were standing in front of us started to get SUPER loud, rude and started to "infringe" on the space of people standing around them. My bf and I had to move 3 times because they were purposely getting in front of people trying to watch both Jillian Carderelli and Easton Corbin because they knew it was pissing people off. There was literally NO ONE standing around this group and even though "security" kept watching them, they NEVER did anything to them. I, at one point, told my bf to stand between me and them because that's how pissed off I was that I paid $117 for both our tickets and didn't get to enjoy the show because they were that disruptive. Oh, and by the way, I'm pretty sure that the red head playing guitar for Easton Corbin probably hooked up with the blonde with the big nose in that group because he was eye balling her the whole time and security noticed it and still didn't do anything about it. Sorry, usually love you but I feel like I got robbed of $117 that night and I'll be hard pressed to do it again after that experience. read more

My wife and I have been going to the other local casino for a year now and this is our first visit to the Mystique! The buffet special is what brought us in on July 4th! We were both surprised! Overall, we had a good time. The bartender in the casino was clearly inexperienced and had no personal interaction skills. We had only been at the casino for a little more than an hour (we each had time for one full drink and to order some food) and apparently that ONE drink was enough for her to think that one of us should be 'cut off' from ordering anymore alcohol (and yes...that someone was me...wah wah wah). Absolutely ridiculous. If you are going to work at a Casino Bar...you should know the difference between someone who is in a fun mood, vs someone who has had too much to drink. One glass of cider hardly constitutes the need to be cut off....unless you are a toddler....which we (I) are/am not. Aside from the debacle with the unintelligent bartender, the stay was nice, the slot machines paid out and their rooms were suitable sizes. We might come back. Might. Stopped in to see the Eli Young Band in August as part of their outdoor summer concert series. Parking was very easy. The casino was clean and spacious. The dealers were very friendly and even helped us try out a new game. Before the concert we stopped in at Houlihan's- which is connected to the casino and hotel there on site. Convenient, decent food and service. Access to the concert from the casino was extremely easy. Drink tickets were purchased with cash- there are ATMs on site. There were food trucks available on site which I thought was a great addition as the concert lasted a few hours. Suggestions if you stop in to see a concert- lawn chairs are allowed, bug spray. read more

went to the pool party this past Sunday. $10 to get you in and you get lunch. great price and great deal. However when we got there there were absolutely no seats. there were cabanas available to rent. none of them were eben being used. you could rent the cabana only if you rented a room. so okay let me rent a room okay sure but you can't check in or use the cabana until check in time at 3pm. makes absolutely no sense. so in order to rent the cabana you'd have to rent a room for 2 nights to be able to use it for one day. super crazy they lost out on Money for sure. we were there from 12-5 and those cabanas never even were used. will not be returning. read more

The drinks are cheap but still cost money even if you are gambling. The water fountain wasn't working. Someone literally blew smoke in my face at the blackjack table. The Good - Went to see Jamey Johnson. Nice setup for the stage and good sound system. Standard goofy ticket system to get a beer which was cold and served by friendly staff. Nice enough room, maybe not quite as nice as you'd expect for a Garden Inn but clean and well kept. Craps table crew was fun and competent, no complaints (except maybe that last 7). Good breakfast at the hotel with a friendly and good waitress. The Bad - Houlihans bartenders (late afternoon shift) were slow, disengaged and just generally looked like they wanted to be somewhere else. The sports bar staff (late night) was worse. Constantly looking over my shoulder as she mis-repeated my order. Finally got it right and disappeared to talk to another employee for several minutes before delivering our drinks and sending in the order. The food came and a double cheeseburger on the ticket was a single cheeseburger on the plate. We were over halfway through the meal before bartender showed back up to ask how the chow was. When I reported the MIA patty, a nonchalant, "Huh" ... did I want her to get me another patty? Well .. not so much now. The fries were way under-cooked. She gave me a half-hearted apology and didn't charge me for the bacon to make up for the error ... LOL. The burger was actually good, bet it would have been great as a double. Took some family members to the Friday buffet for my sons first anniversary. Some of us arrived a bit early and of course were required to show ID to enter. We had no intent to gamble only do the buffet. One of the family members didn't have ID but would turn 22 in three months. We were refused admittance. My daughter in law was calling her parents, who hadn't arrived as yet, we wondered where else to go. Asked the man at the entrance. He in the meantime called more security who showed up and towered over us like we were criminals. Here we were, just a family out for a dinner and we were greeted by four very large and thug looking men. We were not loud or abusive....anything , but this is how we were greeted. We went here in June 14 for a family trip. The casino and hotel were nice, modern, well maintained and the casino was bigger then expected. The Dog races were cool and the amateur dog races were funny. Their Staff was friendly at the hotel, Donna, Bob and Frank that work the table games were friendly and really great. The only disappoint is outside of them the other table employees were very rude. At times making comments such as "come on, what are you new" and made jokes to each other in front of the whole table. Other couples were offended and walked away that were not even with us and even made comments that that's not appropriate. Others weren't willing to help people that are not professional gamblers that were new but where there to have fun plus lacked any personality. Our group had 18 people and you can image the kind of money we spent so we will try diamond jo's next time. read more
