Excellent wine flight options. The selections are on the sweeter side, so if you like your wines that way you should definitely come. Great prices as well!

Double shots of wine for $15 in a flight of 5. Outdoor seating worthy of a post card while trains pass by, this is about as good as it gets on a Sunday afternoon in Dubuque. We all like the purple cow and agree to skip the moscato. Hey it's also next to the Mississippi River walk.

A decent place to kick back on the riverfront with very good service and good food. Especially on a hot summer day. You can walk there from the visitors center and check out the riverboats that stop near here. Bicycle friendly as well.

This a better spot for wine drinkers. The beer selection leaves much to be desired. It's right off the river and they have live band but beer drinkers beware.

The waitress was so sweet. We ordered the special pizza which was Buffalo Chicken Pizza and a bottle of the Strawberry Rhubarb wine and they were AMAZING.

First, wait staff was great. Sat outside & very comfortable. The homemade sangria really quenched your thirst after walking along the Mississippi. Well prepared Mediterranean salad which followed my cup of mushroom & Brie soup was superb. The chicken salad on pretzel buns mini sandwiches as well as the pasta side hit the spot. Initially hard to find / get to location will be easier next time.

We stopped for lunch while on our own little winery road trip & this by far was our favorite stop! The building has so much character, inside/outside seating & a full menu. We chose to sit inside as it was a windy day, decided on a few flights of wine so we could taste as many as possible & ordered food. We got the Pesto Chicken Sandwich & Shrimp Tacos. I would not change a single thing on the sandwich. Full chicken breast, bacon, amazing flavor with the Pesto sauce, cheese & the bun.. Omg, the dried tomato herb focaccia - 100%! The Tacos had good flavor & the sweet pepper slaw was amazing!! I've never had such a sweet slaw like that. We would only suggest more sauce & coleslaw on the tacos. The tortilla kind of took over & the fillings got lost inside. Once we finished eating, we were greeted by the owner, Nan. She was a pleasure to speak with & asked about our experience/food/wine. Had a nice short chat & learned new things. We will forever talk highly of this place to everyone who asks!

What a fun spot. The views are incredible and I don't think you'd have to worry about being here on a hot day. The gusts of wind cool everything down. We each had a wine flight which is your choice of 5 from the long list of options. The friendly staff and warm environment opened us up to make new friends also traveling through Dubuque. Every single one of us left with a bottle of wine. This isn't your typical winery so don't come in here with a wine snob attitude. You'll find fun, fruity wines that can be made into fun cocktails or enjoyed chilled on their own. Some beer on tap and I asked if they made bloody marys; they do! We'll come back next time we're through!

A great location for the wine tasting room in the old Dubuque Star Brewery and they also now serve draft beer. Right next to the Shot Tower and steps away from the Mississippi River. They are pet friendly and have a very nice outdoor seating area. Unfortunately, the wine is mostly sweet wine. If you enjoy sweet wine Stone Cliff is recommended. There is also a limited food menu. We did not try any of the food but saw several tables having pizza and other snacks. We did taste the Chardonnay and Rose. The Chardonnay did not have a lot of taste and the Rose was quite sweet. We did enjoy the draft beer and will return because of the ambience and overal setting.

We traveled to Dubuque, IA specifically to visit the winery and we were not left disappointed. The interior of the winery gave an Italian feel and great outdoor scenery. Service was alright, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. As for the wine, we decided on the 5 for $15 sample wine flight which we found to be reasonably priced given the size of the samples. The only downside was the wine list, there was not a wide selection. Our favorites were the Purple Cow and Strawberry Rhubarb! We also ordered the chicken salad sliders which were amazing, we even ordered some for the ride home! Overall, we had an enjoyable evening and would return!

Gorgeous building, former Star brewery. Views of the river. Very reasonable bottle pricing. $10-$12 Food options are very limited and subject to hours changing. The day we were there they were out of our favorite- Riesling. We ordered the goat cheese appetizer and the charcuterie tray for our group of 4. The charcuterie tray at $20 was a rip off. The goat cheese at $12 was thoroughly enjoyed. The wine samples are skimpy, served in shot glasses. Beautiful interior suitable for hanging out. Service like everywhere else was slow and minimal. 5 stars for location and affordable wine.

Stopped by here on a Friday evening about 6pm. The winery is located on the first floor of the Dubuque Star Brewing Company building in the Port of Dubuque. We were disappointed that there were no tastings being done due to COVID-19. They did however offer for us to sample the wines before we purchased a glass or bottle, which we were much appreciative of. We sampled the Sweet Raspberry wine as well as their Jazzberry wine. Both were excellent. We settled on a bottle of the sweet raspberry wine, which we highly recommend, and headed outside for the live music. On Friday nights from 6pm-10pm they offered live music. The band Secrets had just stared playing and they had tables, chairs and canopies set up in a roped off area. The seating with tables was full, but along the back side of the building there are three stepped stones into the landscaping of the hill for people to sit and enjoy the music. We sat in the shade from the building on these stones and actually had a great time. Just over the hill from the stones you can see a gorgeous view of the river. We highly recommend stopping by!

Recently, some close friends, my wife and I drove over to Dubuque for a weekend getaway. We love…read morefarm-to-table restaurant concepts and in-city dining, so we thought Convivium would be an ideal spot to have breakfast on our first day in town. As great as this place could (if not should) be, it will never reach it's potential with the lousy customer service that we experienced. Why do I say this? Read on Yelper. We arrive for breakfast around 9:45 am on Saturday. There was a little bit of a line, which is to be expected at any well known breakfast/brunch establishment, right? The young lady working the register asked if we wanted to pick a table outside, handed us four menus and told us that someone would be out there to help us shortly. We sat at an empty, yet still dirty with plates from the last customers, table that was in the shade. Annnnnd we waited. As staff came out to attend to other customers sitting in the same patio area, the four of us sat there waiting for water, coffee, a smile... heck even an acknowledgement that we were there would have been nice. Seriously, if the Invisible Man was real and sitting at the table, he probably would have had a better chance of being noticed by the servers working that morning. We ended up busing our own table because no staff would bother to do it - I'm very serious. Nearly 20 minutes pass. As another couple comes into the patio, sits down and gets near immediate service with their drink orders, we had it! We entered the restaurant to find out what the problem is for such terrible service?!? The tall, head service member (did not catch her name) had an attitude for sure with her question "Did one of us seat you?" and we answered that "No, your host teammate told us to grab the table." She damn near rolled her eyes. Finally, lightening struck... someone showed up to give us water, wipe the table, and take our order. But don't get your hopes up that this was the end of bad service. Regrettably, it was not. We waited nearly 25 more minutes to get our order of eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage. Tough order for a breakfast place, don'tcha think? Out comes the food... without utensils to eat with. 4 mins of watching your food get cold motivated us to good inside and get our own utensils. As we did, the head member walks out with the items. Now - let's shift to the one positive part of the experience and that of course is the food. To show you that I am a reasonable reviewer, I will tell you that the meal was very tasty, cooked to order, and satisfying (especially when you're starving!). When I said at the beginning that this place can be great, the food is the reason why. After a Friday night of fun, a place like Convivium is just what you want for a Saturday breakfast before an afternoon of NCAA College Football - you know what I mean? But until management decides to hold the staff accountable for this terrible customer service, Convivium will be closed in less than 5 years (my prediction). Read some of the other reviews... we share the same general opinion. And this is coming from someone that values restaurant concepts like this one. Get it together before its too late, Convivium.

My dad, sister, and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. My sister enjoyed her chicken pesto panini but Dad found his pulled pork to be dry and bland. I ordered broccoli cheese soup with sourdough toast. The soup was absolutely disgusting. It was so thick, overcooked, and tasted like it had been on a back burner for three days straight. Not to be gross, but it looked like congealed dog vomit. When I mentioned to our server, she was very condescending. I would like to try again and hopefully it was just a tough day.

They are located in Millwork Marketplace, a gorgeous old renovated brick building downtown. Upon arriving, we asked where were all their breads. They announced they didn't have any. The truck had not made its delivery and they had no idea why. The place seemed very poorly managed. Not to take away from the young ladies that waited on us. We sat at the bar, next to a disgruntled gentleman who asked us if we were going to have breakfast. We said yes, and he mumbled under his breath, "Poor excuse for a restaurant." We decided to brave it anyway. They offer fresh squeezed juices, which they prepare every day. We couldn't decide, so she offered to let us sample. They were refreshing. We decided to order breakfast and forgo the juice. I ordered the basic eggs, toast, hash browns and sausage. My friend ordered an omelet with a side of bacon. Her bacon was thick cut and severely over cooked. The omelet was small with not many veggies. My sausage was probably the best I have ever had. Everything else was good, except, we asked for butter and all they had was butter flavored spread. A "bread company" with no bread or real butter? Odd. I grabbed a salt shaker from the nearby table as there were none at the bar and it was stuck inside the shaker like concrete. Upon examining the rest at the other tables, I saw the waitress take them all back to be washed. The bearded cook in the back looked like he hated his life. The girls talked about how their hours had been cut. There was a coffee bar with quite possibly an employees backpack on it. Hopefully they find their stride, because it's a gorgeous building.
