If I could I would rate this unprofessional and lacking customer service nail place 0 STARS . First of all Tommy is a cheap nail tech that uses the cheapest products just to do a terrible job and rush through your nail job . I booked an appointment and had to wait an hour then I finally sit on his station and it's super dirty he did not clean from the person he had done the nails on before . Second his next client after me comes in and he starts to rush so fast that he starts to file and drill my nails causing me to bleed . Finally I think he is done he tells me to go get my pedicure and that another tech will finish my acrylic full set because he is running behind . I recently went there and Tina was out and I did my nails feet and hands with two other people that were not Tina. The Person who did my Nails on my Feet was Carla and she did a lousy job. First the Acrylic was too thick and I told them and the Manager did the Nails on my Hands. I tried to explain to management and they do not not speak English well so they referred me to Carla who speaks Spanish like I do. She is and was repugnant, rude and unprofessional. It's the only quick shop I will ever support as long as they function the way they do. They take their time in order to avoid making mistakes and having to go back and fix things,which I appreciate. They also check and make sure what their doing is ok with you. I have to be careful with the older tech polishing my nails though because he either caked on the polish or it was just bad old polish but other than that they do really well. Came in for a pedicure and gel fill in. One person completed the pedicure and asked me to let me toes dry before "someone else" did my fill in. I asked twice how long the wait was. The first time one woman said "I don't know" the second time I asked she looked right at me, ignored me, and continued to work on someone's nails who came in after me. I just got up and walked out, and paid for the pedicure. I used to visit this salon regularly, and now I will never go back. I am pretty upset because their prices seemed reasonable. This was my fourth, and last visit. Generally, the place is fine. You really can't beat the price and it's right across the street from where I live. Even still I won't be back. My service today (a Wednesday morning) was so below par, I am fine spending $10 more elsewhere. The tech who did my nails could not have been less interested in what she was doing. I understand having bad days, but I also work in the service industry and the customer shouldn't feel like an inconvience. She started off on the bad note, rushing me to pick my color, when I had a very specific look I was trying to achieve. When I showed her a picture of the color I was looking for, she rolled her eyes at me. The pedicure water was lukewarm and she was lackluster and chatting with the other tech the entire time. She never really made eye contact with me or even at my feet. It was super odd...she just was staring around the room. It was clear she didn't want to be there or at least not working with me. The entire manicure she was on the phone, not really looking at my hands, and nicking me several times while doing my cuticles. I left with a smudged nail because at that point I was so disappointed in the service I didn't want to stay longer to have it fixed. When I walked in I wasn't even greeted, I was so lost I ended up asking another customer where to sign in because the guy was purposely ignoring me. Bad, bad, bad service. I came here for a fill in and the woman in the first chair (closest to where you walk in) tried to convince me to do gel rather than the fill in that I asked for. I knew what I wanted so I asked her to please give me the fill in I requested. The acrylic that she put on was so thin that there was lifting on almost every finger a couple of days later. She shaped the nails to look like my "natural nails" and because of them being so thin, I ended up with river-bottom rock shaped nails. It was awful. So awful I refused to take a pic. I should've. I also came back to have them fix the issue and she made it worse. And then tried to charge me for the repairs-two days later!!!! Never again. read more

First time there. Horrible service. Waited for 20 minutes due to only having one nail technician doing manicures. Walked out .

This USED to be my go to spot. Until, I asked for my regular nail tech (Mai) to glue my nails lower because after my last set they were all breaking off. She got offended & I apologized but she still insisted that I go to the shop to get a refund. I go to the shop & another tech (Lynn) redid my nails. I paid so that I could tip Lynn and ask the manager how I would go about getting a refund (for the first set that I had.) He gave me a refund and I thought everything was settled. So today I called the shop to make an appointment, and I get a text from Mai saying she'd be able to take me later, the time I called for wasn't available. Then I get another text saying that she can't do my nails and Lynn can't do my nails because the manager gave them issues over the refund situation. My issue is this: I never requested the refund she insisted I get the refund because she was not there to physically fix the broken nails (1) Lynn the other nail technician had nothing to do with the situation she just so happens to be the person who I requested do my next set (2). Throughout the whole situation there were never any arguments or any insults or anything like that where the situation could be interpreted as negative or troublesome. I just was letting her (Mai) know that my nails were not lasting. Which leads to me leaving this review, I don't appreciate how I was made to feel as though I attacked or I did something wrong, when I was just letting my technician know that this is the problem I was having. It's bad enough that there are very few nail shops in DC (that do good work) but for customers to not have a way of expressing their concerns without being blacklisted is ridiculous. This is so far my favorite nail place in DC. After a terrible nail experience in Capitol Hill, where the staff berated me for having short nails (I bite! I know it's terrible so why would you want to make me feel worse? PLUS I'M PAYING YOU FOR A SERVICE) I came to get my nails fixed at Q Nails and immediately felt at home. Helen did my nails who was so cute and nice and she really did a killer job. She saw that the entire nail was painted, unlike the others who only did like half of it. I went with a white and it came out transparent (I can still see the white part of my nail)! I asked early on if they can change the color because I didn't like how it looked. I came here the Saturday before Valentine's Day hoping to get some cute almond shaped dip power nails. Quick pedis are $22, manis are $14 and fill-ins are $14-18. Their selection of nail polish, some OPI and Essie, has gone down over time. I hate that they always badger me about my eyebrows, but a major plus is that you can add tips to cards. It's hard for me to say enough about my good friends a Q nails. To start, the people who work here are so friendly. Also, the quality of their work is really good. I'm always happy with how my nails look when I leave and early chipping is rare. They do a particularly thorough job with pedicures. The ambiance is nice, though be warned: You will definitely hear the theme from Aladdin and also "My Heart Will Go On," and it is possible that you will hear "Happy Birthday" (yes, the one you sing at birthday parties is somehow on the playlist).
