I recently stopped in to get my first ever pedicure with my BBBS little. I usually go to another salon for my gel manicures, but I was on the far west side of town so I checked yelp for top rated salons. We called ahead after stopping by another highly rated nail salon with no availability, and Q Nails said we could stop by right then. We were greeted quickly and told to pick out our nail colors. We both picked out two. My friend had told me recently that she looks for places without the water bath, as she thinks it's more sanitary. I'm inclined to feel the same way, however at Q Nails they did put in a plastic liner in the bath. I'm not exactly sure if that provides any sanitation, but I guess it's better than nothing? However, all of the tools that both of our technicians used didn't appear to be sterilized at all - they weren't wrapped, and I saw no evidence of sterilization. After they were finished using them with us, they just threw them back into their little tub with all the other tools. Even if you take them out of sterilization right before a customer comes in, I'd recommend some evidence of that (like a sealed bag for example?), just to be on the safe side! The experience was fine, and I enjoy my cute toenails! It was a fun, treat yoself type of experience, because I definitely prefer to do my own toes. My nail technician was upbeat, cheerful, and talkative, and she did a great job. I did have to ask for the special flip flops to protect our paint jobs, though. They weren't offered, and she didn't seem like she really wanted to give them to us. I was also told by another employee (after my card had already been ran) that she charged me wrong and it would be an additional $2 for each of us because of the two colors. I understand you want to get your money, but that was your mistake. In terms of customer service, I would have told the customer that next time, it would be a $2 upcharge for two colors and let it slide, but instead she had me add to my tip. (I'm also seeing someone mention a student discount and I'm really sad I didn't see that beforehand!) So long story short: If you're looking for an okay pedi with questionable sanitation, this place is okay. But I'll be looking elsewhere. read more

I really don't want to give them only three stars but it was my first time and I had a guy doing my nails ( not the owner ) he honestly didn't do a good job! Very disappointed about how he did my manicure and applied the gel color on my nails. If I wouldn't have said anything I had color all over my skin. When I said something the owner had to correct it and remove the color around my nails. He was able to do so but I'm still able to see it a little bit. The guy also didn't ask me how I want my nails to be shaped. I seen how the lady got her nails done next to me and it looked great that why I do think they do a good job but this specific guy did defiantly a messy job on me. I really wish I can give this place no stars!!! NEVER GET LASHES HERE!!!! NEVER!!! I like to wear false lashes and I always do them myself. Well I got a coupon for this place on the back of a H-E-B receipt. The coupon was for $24.99 eyelash extensions. I went on August 10, 2017 and decided to check the place out since I've always wanted to try eyelash extensions. I also wanted to see how they would turn out since I will be getting married in December and am considering getting my lashes done for my big day. I had seen a review by a woman for Q Nail saying their lashes came out bad and it had pictures of the very poor work that they did, but I gave Q Nail a chance and figured maybe they just had an off day when doing that other lady's lashes. Boy was I wrong!!!! I walked in and asked a few questions and finally decided to do it. I spoke to a man and he told me his wife would do them for me. I picked the short length because I wanted them to look natural. As she was working on them, I decided to do the medium length instead. She seemed upset that I wanted them longer. So she finished my first eye (my right eye) with the medium length and it came out decent, but the black glue was on my lid and you could definitely tell it was fake. I figured she'd clean it up when she was done. When she finished my left eye, I can tell that they looked really uneven and I told her. So she fixed it and they looked decent. I payed and got it my car (which I wish I NEVER did). When I looked in my mirror, they looked absolutely horrendous!!!! There was a very thick line of dark glue on both my eyes and the glue was every uneven and all over my lid. I wish I would've taken a picture of them and I regret I didn't! I paid $25 plus a $5 tip for absolute crap!!! I do a way better job when I do my own lashes, but I wanted to see how they would come out, so I wouldn't have to do mine as often. So I decided to get out of my car and went back in and told them I did not like them, so she took them off of me. The process of getting them removed was very painful and the gel she was using burned the hell out of my eyes. My eyes are still bothering since I get them taken off 12 hours ago! I was flinching and my eye were very watery since they were burning! The sad part is that the girl didn't even seem to care that I was in pain! It took about 35 mins to get them off and it was pure agony!! I was so scared that all my real eyelashes would be ripped out! Now here starts the part where they completely just lost my business!!! When she finished, I asked if I was going to be refunded since I didn't like them and had them removed. She got very rude and sassy and said, "No you don't get a refund since I already provided the service." I proceed to tell her, "Why not? I didn't like them at all and I just got them removed because I didn't like them." She got upset and said, "I asked if you liked the first eye I did and you said yes it was fine." I told her, "Yes I did say that, but that was just that eye. It wasn't till I got to my car when I realized how terrible they were!" She said, "Well if you don't like it, then don't come here anymore." I was so shocked when she said this. If you want to keep someone's business, you NEVER say that! You try to fix the situation, not tell someone to not come back because now you've just lost someone that could've been a loyal customer. I wanted to go back in the future and get acrylics done by them, but not anymore!!! Since I was worried about my actual lashes, I ended up telling her, "So if you ruined my actual lashes, you wouldn't refund me?" She proceeded to say, "No, no refund." When she said that, I realized how she really did not care about the well being of her customers. I walked out when I realized that she was not going to budge and told them I would never return to their establishment. I didn't even get half my money back nor did they offer to fix the issue!! Very terrible customer service! I will be calling the manager tomorrow to tell him about the terrible customer service this lady gave!!! I DO NOT recommend coming here!!! DO NOT COME HERE! I will be going to a nicer, higher end place where they actually care about their customers!!! I hope the lady that did my lashes reads this and if she does, you know who you are! UPDATE: I called asking for the manager, spoke with some man named Philip, and he was very rude! He was not willing to work something out! Definitely not coming back to this place! read more

If I could give lower than one I would. I came here one week ago to get my nails done. Here we are one week later and 3 of my nails have come off. This is upsetting because I have natural nails and now 3/7 are nubs. Jasmine was nice who did my nails, but where is the quality in her work and the quality in the products. This was my first time here and I had my doubts, but I wanted to give them a chance. I usually try to give people second chances, but this is ridiculous. It takes months to get natural nails to a good length for coffin shape and now I'm starting over. I will not be returning here and I suggest no one else does.
