Honestly, I debated for a while as you can see about whether I should update or not. It ate at me long enough that I decided I needed to say something about it. Initially, I WAS Very happy & content with my hair but after that first wash, I knew it wasn't right. It wasn't the same as my last stylist! I think she gave me a keratin or she just didn't leave it in long enough! My stylist from Chicago always gave me undivided attention and kept it in as long as she could! It Always turned out great!! So, if you already have somewhat straight hair or it is just wavy this salon may work but for me, it did not!! I have naturally very curly hair and basically wasted my money!! The moment water hit my head, the curls came back, very disappointed!! No one has ever beaton Sarah in expertise or quality plus she was just like a friend to me! I miss her very much!! Also, she told me it might not work on my hair!! It works! I had it done many times and trust me, if left in long enough, it would have worked. Also, for the color, they won't tell any shades so now i have to hope someone will get it close to the same shade when i get to california! I can't come back to Michigan every couple months all the ways from California just for a touch up, that's absurd! Unless you live here or can travel 24/7, Just don't!! Again, like I said, I didn't want to update but i feel it was right to be honest even if the experience was a bad one because it might help someone else save their hard earned money! These ladies are nice but i don't go to a salon for someone to just be nice to me, I go to get a job done so my auditions and headshots can look amazing!! Before getting Headshots done, I had to go to another salon in New York which i wouldn't have needed to if i had it done right! That was extra money i wasn't counting on spending! My latest Self Tapes looked awful because my hair just did not look straight or beautiful and they expect it in the Industry! This really disappointed me, all that money for nothing! I will be seeing someone when i get to California and hopefully never have this problem again!! :( read more

I am very much satisfied with my new haircut. For years I have the same haircut but I can definitely say that this time it looks the best. I liked the salon, small and cozy :) The hairdresser was lovely, talkative and nice. I would definitely go for my next haircut there and would recommend to my friends and acquaintances. read more

Moved to the area and had to find a new place to do my hair. The ladies are very nice and my stylist (Melissa) was very flexible and was able to do what I needed for my hair. Took quite a while to get it all done, but the guy I went to back home was a speed demon and I don't expect everyone to be like that :) I needed partial highlights, and she was able to get the color I wanted, but noticed that she only applied the color on every other layer instead of each layer. But now that I got to know my stylist, I can be more comfortable with voicing my needs for next time! read more

Q Salon does a wonderful job! I get my hair done with Quinn--usually a partial highlight, toner and cut. My hair is blonde so it's usually dry but Quinn introduced me to their Loma line of products, and it does wonders! Every time I leave there, I feel like my hair is completely transformed. Instead of dry and flat, it's soft, shiny, healthy and feels and looks amazing. Not to mention, Quinn is a very down to earth person and makes you feel welcome. She's very friendly and SUPER passionate and knowledge about all things "beauty." I would recommend this salon to anyone. Prices are competitive to the area, but well worth it. read more

I have been getting massages here for over a year. They were always wonderful, and I loved coming here. But recently a gym opened next door. The past two massages I had to listen to very loud heavy metal and rap music through the wall during my hour massage. The first time, the workout place had just opened, but then a couple months passed, and when I booked another massage I forgot about the new workout place. Yet again, loud thumping music during my entire massage. I'm actually kind of insulted that Q Salon would allow me to book a massage knowing that I would have to listen to that music the entire time. I know it's not their fault, but still, common courtesy to maybe say "Hey, before you spend $50, be aware that it's going to be an hour of listening to loud thumping bass". So much for relaxation. I have been looking for the perfect salon and I finally found it! Melissa is the BEST! I can completely trust her to just do whatever she has in mind with my hair and it's always outstanding. I've had these horrible cowlicks on my head for years and could never find the right stylist or style to tame them until now! I love this place and I love Melissa! If you're going to come here, ask for her! She works wonders on my hair and is extremely talented! I've been a returning customer for almost 6 months now and have not once been let down! My mom and I loved Q Salon. When we arrived the receptionist was very friendly, took our coats and brought us hot chocolate and water. She was very attentive to us, making sure we were comfortable and offering us more drinks if we wanted. The waiting area is cozy and the entire salon is beautifully decorated. Anna was my stylist-- She was amazing and gave great suggestions. I loved the cut she gave me, it was exactly what I wanted. My mom had her hair cut and colored by Quinn. She loved the color and her haircut looked fabulous! All and all we were extremely happy with Q salon and already have appointments to be back in 2 months. Thanks Quinn and Anna! read more

I went to the salon at least 5 different times to talk about my haircut and even showed them the style of haircut . I got an appointment with Anna, sat in her chair for two hours and she literally butchered my hair . I've never seen a haircut this bad ever, no one can believe this is the haircut I got . I paid 40 dollars and left hysterically crying . The receptionist called me as soon as I got home and said she was sorry that I got a bad cut and said the owner was going to call me at 3 the next day . She never called and so I went back to the salon and waited for her . She saw my hair and offered to try and fix it , I said how because there's no hair left. She never offered my money back and I suggest you don't ever go to this salon. They didn't care . read more

I was really quite impressed with this salon! They were accommodating to my schedule on a Saturday, and Melissa did an amazing job on my hair! She listened to what I wanted, and I didn't really know... I just knew what I didn't want. Melissa not only made me love my hair, but she encouraged me to make another appointment ahead of time, so I can get that time for me instead of going a year between haircuts. I recently moved to the area from Chicago and was hoping to find a great new salon. Q Salon exceeded my expectations and I plan to be a loyal customer! I was able to get an appointment the same day I called and was greeted by a friendly staff and offered coffee:) Anna did a fantastic job. She took time to really understand what I was hoping for & my hair looks better than ever after some highlights and a cut. They have some great deals when it comes to pricing too. This was the absolute worst salon experience I have ever had. I made an appointment for a wedding. I just wanted my medium length hair curled with volume and possibly a braid. I made an appointment for 5:30 and showed up 5 minutes late. When I got there there were 3 employees and I client. Two ladies (one I found out was the owner) were cuttings each others hair while one gentleman was doing a clients hair. When I came in neither of the two ladies acknowledged me at all and the gentlemen had to stop what he was doing to check me in. He reaffirmed that I did have somewhere to be in 50 minutes and he asked the OWNER if she could start my hair and she said "no, I have a client at 5. You can do it hurry up you're only doing a root touchup." Then she sat there and continued to get her hair done while I waited for the gentleman to be done with the client. After waiting another 15 minutes he was finally done and ready for me. I sat in the chair and I showed him a picture of what I was looking for and he started. He curled it and it took him an exceptionally long time. He turned me around and there was ZERO volume and the curls were already falling out. At this point I could tell he was new. He tried back combing it for another 10 minutes when he said "I don't think you're going to get volume." He then proceeded to ask the owner for help on my hair while she sat getting her hair done and she quizzed him like a child in front of everyone. I was so embarrassed for him. At this point she walks over and shows him how to get volume on my hair by doing a few pieces then goes back to getting her hair done. He continues to follow her direction and it was the most painful experience I have ever endured at a salon. Why should couldn't just help a client who was in a hurry and just finish my hair is beyond me. You could tell I was in a hurry I was wearing a ball gown to a salon!! When he was finally done I was 20 minutes late already and looked awful. It was nothing like I asked for. I don't blame the kid for trying but I was so embarrassed for him and the way the owner treated him. I will NEVER go back to this salon. read more
