Managed to get there on a good day, easy parking. it's a small shopping center, y'know? Walking in, it literally was wall-to-wall vintage collectibles. Many still in their packages. Walking through it all brought a sense of nostalgia, but at the same time I felt a dull pain--in my wallet. Whatever your focus is, collecting can be expensive and time consuming. Star Wars, Barbie, He-Man, Star Trek (to a lesser extent)...DC/Marvel superheroes. Collectible toy cars (Hot wheels, etc.). There's a lot to look at. Some in their own package, some bagged specifically for the store. 85% of what's there are action figures and such. The rest is a mix of collectible comics, toy cars, and other odd bits. I'd say the prices are reasonable, though a handful of the limited edition collectibles (such as a Sideshow figure of Ghost Rider on his flaming bike) had prices which gave heart palpitations. Era-wise, I'd say the vast majority of toys there are mid-70's on. So there are toys related to "The Six Million Dollar Man", as an example. There were some older 50's era pieces as well. And, like i said, some comics. If I had more time to look I would've stayed longer, but time's the one thing I didn't have. Speaking of which, they were out of the one thing I was looking for. Not a problem, though. If it's not there I won't be tempted to buy it. One more thing: They opened up a 'dollar store' version of the shop a few doors down. It has what you'd expect to find there.

My favorite thing about the store is the fact that they have so many sets that are cost friendly. You can spend anywhere from ten dollars to a couple hundred dollars. This store is located in Montgomery Mall on the first level near Forever 21 and Build A Bear.

Was able to find the comic I wanted easily. Good selection of new issues and variants as well. A seating area to read comics too. I'd definitely come again if I lived closer to this location!

However, I still love the characters and thought I'd pop in to see what's new since I stopped reading. I caught the owner at a moment when he had to care for a personal issue, as he was explaining to a customer that he had to step a way for a bit soon. I told him to feel free to kick me out and close the shop, I'm just there out of curiosity than a need to actually buy anything. I told him I'm a former collector. He insisted I stay and browse the comics and even take my time to read. I could mind the shop for him and just let anyone who comes in while he's away know that he will be back soon. I happily agreed and was a bit taken aback by his trust and kindness. He literally did leave me alone in his shop for a good 20 minutes. His is the sort of shop I preferred when I collected comics. The kind where the books are on the rack and you can flip through them a bit before you buy. This is in contrast to the stores that keep their comics bagged and you need to commit to buying before you know whether you will enjoy the storyline or the art. I don't live in the area, but if I did, I'd be a regular here. A small business definitely worth supporting.

I traded about half my stack of cards and took back the other half to trade somewhere else upon trading somewhere else I was told the cards were in great shape and was offered around $200. Four different occasions I've gone in paid over market price walk away unhappy but because they have such a big selection it's one of the only places you can go... When I was there, nobody else was in it except the cashier. It's a shame because the place was fully stocked with all the cute anime stuff. They even have the token machines from Japan. Gundam figures were filling up the shelves. Figures from all the popular anime are there. Coffee cups, Asian vinyls, Asian pens and pencils, notebooks, etc., are all there. It was a fun store to peruse. Currently, select toys are 30 to 70% off and puzzles and games are buy one get 50% off. They are located on the lower level at the Mall in Columbia closest to Macy's.

Every variation you could think of they have. They even had niche types. Such as Jurassic Parks tribal game. The store recently transferred to a new owner/management and they have some big changes. The plan seems to turn it into a true toy store. The employee make it feel like a local hometown type store. It's definitely worth a visit. Especially in a few weeks when they undergo the changes. If you are looking for games or the mini figure collectibles or kinetic sand. It just a neat little store that seems to be getting its footing. You also can't beat that it's locally owned!
