The price was good compared to the surrounding hotels in Long Island City. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom felt newish, which made for a comfortable stay. There was also breakfast, nothing to write home about, but it was there for those who want it. The location is convenient, though the vibe changes quickly depending on which way you walk. Just south of 41st Ave was very nice, but going north on 27th St felt a bit more sketchy with a lot of graffiti and trash. One thing to note is that there is no on-site parking, though we were able to find a lot of street parking nearby. The only major downside was that the doors were very thin. We stayed right next to the staircase and were woken up in the morning by the sound of people heading down to breakfast. It's a solid, clean option for the price, but if you're a light sleeper, try to request a room far away from the stairs or elevators.

I'm only giving 4 stars because of a couple of things -#1 the double bed in the room was too soft and soooo squeaky, any movement was amplified 1000x. #2 The lightweight comforters on the beds are not washed. That really grossed me out when we gathered all our sheets at the end of our stay and were told to leave the blankets as they are not washed between guests. YUCK. If I had known in advance I would have gone out and bought a fresh blanket. Ugh the thought of it now still churns my stomach. Yes, even with a 3 hour layover. Delta put us up in this hotel. It's about a 30 minute or so drive from JFK. From JFK you can take the air train to where the bus stop is for pick up where their shuttle arrives. It can take about an hour for pick up. Just make sure to call the number at the hotel or the number provided so they know to pick you up. I'm not sure if shuttle rides to the airport to JFK are included in the hotel price. I think so, but just confirm with the hotel. Be sure to check at the front desk to ask what times and availability they have for a ride back. They have limited seating in their shuttle van. Our room was huge,spacious and clean. There's a small mini fridge and a microwave in the room. Breakfast is included and it does offer some (deli) meat options as well. It's located close to where the U.S. OPEN is held and located in Flushing's Chinatown. When we drove down the street to the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and it smelled so good.

I've never been treated so disrespectfully as a customer in my entire life. They give out physical keys instead of keycards, and when leaving my room I accidentally locked my key in my room. I went to go ask for a spare key, he starts looking around for one and finally says he has to make a call. I leave for a show come back 2 HOURS later (had to hours to resolve this situation but did nothing.) I come back from the show expecting him to have a spare or master key. He comes out of the office with a crow bar and hammer. I was surprised and asked him if he didn't have a master, when he said no I responded "that's crazy" to try to lighten the mood. He immediately got hostile and snapped back "What's crazy is leaving your key in your room". I immediately tried to apologize for the comment, which he ignored of course. He tried to break open the door with the crowbar unsuccessfully. He then asked if I was checking out tomorrow (which I was). He then asked if all my stuff was in the room? I told him yes and he rolled his eyes and put his hands up and shouted "What am I supposed to do?!" He gave me a spare room to wait in , he said he might have it solved by the morning but he's going to try now. I waited for 45 minutes to check back in with him. When I went down he immediately got rude and passive aggressive, he told me to go back to the room and be patient and "This is your fault for leaving your key in the room, I know I should have a spare; but it was dumb to lock yourself out. I wasn't prepared for this so just be patient" All because I asked for an update if I'd be able to get my belongings that night ??? He didn't resolve the situation for at least another 30 minutes, when he gave me back my key he made another rude comment about not losing it until the morning. What type of hotel doesn't have a spare key, it'd be one thing if he messed up and was the slightest bit apologetic about it but NO he didn't apologize once for the whole situation. He was rude the entire time and blamed me for the fact they don't have a single spare key made for the room (They only gave me one copy of the key for a double room btw). I payed them 1200 dollars and this is how I get treated. DON'T stay here even besides that everything was dirt cheap (Single ply toilet paper, hospital sheets and bedding, no toiletries other than thin bar soap that dried my hands out, and EVERYTHING was dirty and dusty.) The mediocre art was hiding up the peeling and cracking walls and the floors are slanted. Genuinely a terrible experience.

This hotel checked all the boxes and has become one of my favorites so far! We arrived about an hour before check-in, and the front desk was able to accommodate us with an early check-in for a $75 fee, which was well worth it after an early day of traveling. One thing I wasn't aware of before arriving was the $15 daily fee for non-local residents, so keep that in mind if you're planning a longer stay. The hotel is currently being remodeled floor by floor, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to one of the newly renovated rooms on the 11th floor. The room was beautiful, but it's located directly below the rooftop bar. If you're staying on a Friday or Saturday night, expect to hear music and activity until around 4 a.m. Thankfully, I'm a heavy sleeper, so it didn't bother me much. The moment I walked into the room, I was completely distracted by the incredible city view. I barely took any photos of the room because I couldn't stop looking out the window! Waking up and winding down with that skyline made the stay even more memorable. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would absolutely book this hotel again. If you're looking for amazing views and a convenient location, this is definitely a great option. Just be mindful of the additional daily fee and request a room away from the rooftop if you're a light sleeper.

Didn't get good sleep at all that whole week and because of that kind of ruined my vacation. The highlights were that it was located very close to Grand Central so this helped us get around a lot easier, but with that said where in New York are you more than a few blocks from a subway station? Overall, decent place, heater REALLY bothered me and the sheets were kind of dirty, if I were to come to New York again I'd probably be willing to shell out just a bit more cash to stay at a nicer place.
