It was really interesting (and exciting!) to see a Yemeni coffee house pop up in Leander of all places. Qahwah Coffee House feels like a hidden gem and a welcome change from the usual coffee spots. My boyfriend and I split a small pot of Mofawar, since the recommendation was for two people even though it was branded as a "small" pot. Mofawar is a traditional Yemeni coffee made by simmering medium-roast coffee with milk and warm spices like cardamom, and sometimes ginger or cinnamon. It's fragrant, creamy, and lightly sweet--very different from standard espresso drinks. The pot came with two small cups, and honestly, that was more than enough for me because it was served super warm and very satisfying. For something savory, we each had our own tomato and olive puff pastry. It was decent, but fairly standard--something you could find at almost any bakery, Yemeni or otherwise. The real star of the food tray was the Khaliat al Nahl. This dessert is made of soft, fluffy rolls baked together in a honeycomb pattern, filled with cheese and drizzled with honey or syrup. We split a slice since it was pretty large, but if I'm being honest, I would've happily eaten the whole thing myself. It was warm, slightly sweet, and absolutely addictive. Overall, this place left a great impression. There are so many coffees and pastries still on the menu that I want to try, so I'm dying to come back. A lovely spot for something unique and comforting!

Bright, inviting coffee shop specializing in Yemeni coffee, tea and Yemeni pastries. It is decorated with the family tree of the owners and a large wooden mural of the voyage of Arabica coffee around the world. Today was crowded with friend groups (old and young) and young families and seems to be a popular community gathering place. There is a sunny outdoor patio with table available. The service is engaging and hospitable and makes recommendations if asked. I opted for a medium Yemeni hot tea service accompanied by a spinach/cheese rolled flatbread and an apple and nut pastry. The spiced Yemeni tea was brewed perfectly and arrived in a teapot over a warming tealight candle. The apple pastry was sweet and crispy without being overpowering and I enjoyed the taste. I LOVED the tea. Will definitely return. The front counter has loose teas, coffees, and tea wares for sale

Lovely new coffee shop! - Plenty of seating - Outlets available on seats close to the wall - Staff were friendly & quick to clean up tables after customers leave. They also explained the drink options if it was your first visit. - The coffee comes in a teapot with a candle to keep it warm, which was super cute! Drinks & pastries were delicious & not too sweet. You can choose the drink sweetness level - Bathrooms are clean, although the mens bathroom toilet fill valve needs to be replaced since it doesn't flush properly - Overall ambiance is nice because the place is bright & beautifully decorated, & it wasn't too loud

Overall great experience and the coffee & tea have been great. I've been here a number of times now and will be my new go to location.

They gave my son a little cake pop, so kind!

Wow, Austin needs more places like this! Authentic yemen/Turkish coffee and pastry shop. Lots of space inside, super friendly staff, and freshly baked pastries. Even more importantly, great coffee. Stumbled across it on accident, wont be surprised if this place goes viral soon.

New fancy place in leander. Ambiance is good and plenty of seating although seems like it is busy mostly. We tried the pistachio latte and matcha latte. Loved the hot pistachio latte but the matcha latte was ok. Need to try the more traditional flavors next.

Such an amazing experience! The atmosphere was incredibly calm and inviting, perfect for relaxing and unwinding or for work. The barista was genuinely kind and attentive, and the drinks were crafted to perfection. They also offer a wonderful variety of pastries and breads, all of which looked delicious. I'll definitely be returning!

Beautiful ambiance, very pretty. Quiet vibe music isn't too loud lots of people studying. Mango matcha was surprisingly good, and the iced macchiato was a perfect mix. The glass portion sizes definitely seem larger than the plastic cups. Nice cashier, very clean.

Black Rock is known for bold, flavorful drinks served quickly in an upbeat environment. The coffee shop has a wide assortment of menu items including espresso drinks, blended chillers, cold brews, and energy style beverages. Their menu appeals to both traditional coffee drinkers and those who prefer sweeter, more indulgent offerings. According to my barista, customer favorites often are drinks like the Caramel Blondie, Irish Coffee Chiller, and iced lattes. I ordered the Caramel Blondie iced latte; it was bold, smooth, and pleasantly sweet. When I drove up, there was a wraparound car queue, thus I decided to walk into Black Rock Coffee. My barista asked me to wait for a few minutes due to the high demand at the drive through. She then took my order, which she processed in about 5 minutes. She was bubbly, friendly, and helpful with recommendations. Black Rock Coffee's interior is modern with architecturally clean lines, industrial style and bold mural wall. This truly was one of the appealing portions of the business. My latte was on the pricier side. Black Rock Coffee is a good choice for strong drinks, fast service, and a high energy coffee experience.

It was very good. One of the best hot coffees I've had in a while. I look forward to getting it again! Warning: it is pretty sweet, but I enjoy a sweet coffee in the middle of the day, so it didn't bother me. It might be too much in the morning though. The apple danish was okay! It got the job done, but nothing to rave about it. Overall, Black Rock has great coffee and is a good place to study or work remotely. Back then, my husband was not happy, you could not order coffee at the table, you had to go to the other side and get coffee and then bring to to the table if you wanted breakfast. Well, a LOT has changed with this place since then. #1...they will bring you what ever coffee you want to order, and they will pick up from next door and bring it to you (husband was happy about that). #2, they now serve lunch and dinner (*we didn't try that yet, but will be back to try that later). Now, Rebecca our server was so nice! She put up with my husband's "shanigans", as he always tries to joke about with everyone! He was hungry, so got the "Big Ol' Breakfast", which had your eggs, half a ham steak, sausage, bacon (Oh, sooo good) breakfast potatoes (could have been just a little more "crisped up), and pancakes!! He cleaned his plate!! LOL! I had (and did not realize until I read my last review, I had "half" of same I ordered before), the Benedict Sampler (where you can choose TWO of benedicts). I got the "Southwest Steak" (*which is what I had last time..LOL), ohhh soo good! If you like "Spicy"...get this...the green chiles and cilantro-lime sauce make this dish! Then, the other one was the "Golden State" with tomato, bacon and avocado (*and little spice too with Siracha sauce on top), and also had the very good breakfast potatoes! Rebecca checked on us often, and we were both glad we came back to this place! We will be back again!

The good news is there are several places that have waitlists and there are even some places that take reservations so if you're planning includes a time that's likely to attract a lot of diners. I would suggest that would be the way to decide your destination. We did in fact, use the waitlist Sunday at Perky Beans. It allowed us to see how many parties were in front of us and advised that we would be texted when our table was ready. We waited about a half hour in our vehicle until we were texted and then headed in and we were seated immediately. Junny was our server. She seated us and gave us menus. I ordered a Hazelnut Coffee and a Virgin Mary(bloody Mary without the alcohol). My granddaughter ordered Water. We took a few minutes looking over the menus. There were quite a few options. Lots of tempting items, but it's hard for me to turn down biscuits and gravy since I love homemade biscuits and unfortunately mine don't turn out-2 eggs and home fried potatoes accompanied that. My granddaughter ordered the " sample the Eggs Benedict," which offered her the option of choosing two half Benedicts offered-which is a great way to determine your preference. She also opted for the home fried potatoes. Right about then Junny went and got my Virgin Mary, which they had really done up nicely! It was every bit as pretty as the alcoholic version with a nice crisp celery, stick, and a Gerkin pickle, Green olive and fresh Orange section. It was very tasty. We waited about 40 minutes for our food. It was very busy and I think it's difficult to manage the coffee side of the café along with the dining room side especially on a very busy Sunday. (That is why I deducted one star from our rating.) It did appear that they had adequate service staff, of course we couldn't observe the kitchen area so not sure how many cooks. We did enjoy the restaurant as a whole and we do plan to return to order some of the other delicious offerings on the menu. Fantastic to have a great brunch option right in Leander!!!

I was super disappointed when I ordered a vegan taco with avocado, black bean and pico de gallo and was given a bean and cheese taco twice.
