The almond pastry was delicious and the almond flavor was a lot stronger than I expected. The croissant was really flaky but not as buttery as I had hoped for. And I was a big fan of the strawberry banana smoothie. It was so refreshing, and it tasted kind of more like a juice than a smoothie but I prefer that. I hate to provide this low rating but I have to say this review was an anomaly compared to their typical service. Today my coffee cup was barely 3 quarters full and which is always full (I have a recurring fave for order). To add salt to injury, I decided to try a breakfast item they sell from Z tejas. I will never do it again might I say. That taco had barely anything in it for $5 and the cup of coffee they skimped me on wasn't the same either. Total paid was darn near $15 for less the full items. I wouldn't post if this was just about the food sold in support of neighboring vendors, but the coffee was subpar as well today. To coffee enthusiasts, Summer Moon is one of the best in the city; unfortunately they had an off day for me this time around. I usually go to Domain Summer Moon but I'm happy to have found another spot in Northern Austin - in Avery Ranch. Today was my first visit and tbh I think this store is way better than the one in Domain. The space is much bigger and the store is more artistically decorated. I also love the fact that they have high ceilings and a second floor patio type of space to your right upon entering. This store has plenty of seats, both in door and outdoor, tables and high tops. The server I met today was friendly and he explained how they adjust the sugar level by using "summer moons". I'm not a big sweet tooth, so I went with 1/8 sugar which worked perfect for me! Summer Moon has very unique and very good coffee. It's wood fired, which gives it an unexpected smoky flavor. It's very strong coffee, which we like, but might be too strong for some. They have a few milk choices, including the oat milk my wife enjoyed. I found it to be sour and undrinkable, but apparently it's all the rage right now, so I'm in the minority. I love their hand pies! I've tried a couple of the parties here and have not been impressed, but those hand pies! I can eat them any time of day, but they run out most days, so try to get one early. The crust is delicious! If you are going to eat at Summer Moon, it should be the hand pies. It's a nice spot to hang out and/or do work. This location is not consistently with making drinks. My go to is Autumn Moon, and I came a few times with the same order but it tasted different every time. At the Round Rock location, I was told that Autumn Moon is traditionally made with half moon milk which is the perfect sweetness for me. I assume it's the same across all locations but this location makes it different every time. There was one time that it was too sweet, sometimes it was super bland. Today I got it again and was told that Autumn Moon was traditionally made with full moon milk and I could adjust from there, so I asked for half. It came out super bland. I requested to make it a full moon at this point but it didn't make a difference. Now I end up with almost $6 cup tasting like cold milk and spices. The shop itself is great, very spacious with multiple tables and chairs and power outlets. Nice spot for work or study. This location is very busy with online orders and in person orders which is great for the business. So be prepared to wait for 20 minutes for a drink if you do in-person order. Maybe they should dedicate 2-3 staff to 100% handle online orders and the other 2 to handle in-person orders so they can speed up the process and don't look so overwhelmed. read more

I love the vibe of this place. The personnel are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The music is upbeat and fun, and the interior feels very cozy, fresh, and approachable. There's a small but cute loft area on the second floor where you can study or work while having greater privacy and quiet. Downstairs is fine enough to work at, but it can get busy and loud during the weekend morning rush. I recommend bringing some earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones. The merchandise is classy - I've been tempted to buy more and appreciate that the business has made the switch from selling Hydro Flasks to the more environmentally-minded Klean Kanteens. :-) The coffee itself is quite good. Almost all of their beans are single origin, and the moon milk concept is so lovely and interesting. The only problem is that the moon milk doesn't sit well with my stomach, no matter what proportion I've used. I've asked to have a coffee with an oat milk version of moon milk and even took some Lactaid with it, but nothing would seem to ease my stomach churning each time... The rest of my friends and family who've had it said they were fine, so it's probably just a me thing. Anyways, I'll probably go back there again to work. What a nice place. I really liked the layout including the outside seating. This place has adjusted its seating for COVID. There is also plenty of parking in front of Summer Moon so no need to hunt for a place to park. The menu is organized with hot and cold drinks along with the sizes identified in ounces. The drinks have cool names like Summer Moon and Half Moon and if you don't know what that means the staff is happy to define. There is even a small concession stand to buy assorted items. My order was made quickly. The staff seems very nice. The coffee was delicous and reasonably priced. If you looking for a nice little place to get a coffee during this pandemic or afterwards too, give Summer Moon a try. I'm sure you will enjoy yourself. I love Summer Moon it's a place you can relax with your laptop inside or out and have an amazing drink or just stop in after ordering on their convenient app and get a quick pick me up for any part of the day . The 007 which is a double espresso shot with 2oz moon milk or the Sean conn which is triple shot with 3oz moon milk is awesome they can be put in a shaker with ice and served chilled if you ask or just served on ice how they usually come , I personally don't like coffee getting watered down so I get mine shaken . It definitely will snap you out of any feelings of drowsiness after like a few minutes it sneaks up on you and your ready for whatever you need to get done . The Sean Conn is my go too drink. I also recommend the Moon glacier with java chip which is kind of like a Frappuccino from the other place but they call it a milk shake with moon milk and ice blended together with three flavors to choose from. It's definitely a good drink to get if you want something cold tasty but not too strong and it's your first time . Summer moon hands down has to be the best coffee place around Austin in my opinion.
