One of my favorite coffee houses when I am craving sweet chai. The ambience is quiet during the week and on the weekends it is quite the celebration of people. Nice open area and plenty of seating whether you like chairs or sofas. A great place to study during the week as well and honestly the Thai restaurant next door is delicious. Order the Adeni Chai and Honey Bread for a nice quick snack and bring a friend that offers great conversation. Had my first adeni chai here and it did not disappoint! Strong, spicy, and sweetened just right. Adeni chai is similar to karak chai. So if you enjoy karak you'll enjoy this. This can be on the sweeter side so adjust the sweetness if you don't like your drinks too sweet. I've also had their pistachio cheesecake which was good. This is a big shop with plenty of seating to work from. They have decent amount of outlets too. Overall solid place to get espressos and specialty coffee drinks in a comfortable atmosphere. I stopped in here on a Saturday morning, no wait in line, and ordered what I wanted. Service was relatively quick and the barista was friendly when I picked up my order. This place is big, like the size of a full-service restaurant kind of big. There's plenty of tables and chairs, along with an awesome carving of the global trade of coffee beans on the wall. This place definitely gives off a premium vibe and the specialty coffee drinks cost about $7 each after tax. Lots of parking out front as it shares with nextdoor businesses. Located right off Hwy 90, this place is hard to miss. I took off one star because the second time I ordered, the person who took my order was unpleasant and rude. Made a quick stop here, in need of a quick energy boost! Upon entering, the cafe is absolutely beautiful! Very spacious, lots of seating options, & quiet. The barista was very sweet & guided me to her favorites: Pistachio & Brown Sugar Lattes! Delicious, delicious, delicious! Did I say delicious? Quite literally may be the best pistachio latte I've had in a long time. It was perfectly balanced, and you could actually taste the pistachio flavor, which can sometimes be hit or miss! They have patio seating and tons of indoor seating.. this place looks like a nice place to relax and catch up with a friend. They have the typical Yemeni coffee selections and pastries. The service was even great you order at the front and they give you a buzzer when your items are finished. I tried the iced adeni chai without sugar and it was pretty standard. I think this place is okay for flavor but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here because I am nearby a different Yemeni style coffee place and I don't think the distance justifies the taste and price. Place is larger than it looks, lots of room inside for spreading out or isolating for work or study with a variety of tables and comfy chairs. I got one of the hot chai drinks, and it was quite tasty although needed to be strained better, there was a lot of loose tea floating around. Also got the croissant which I'm pretty sure was not baked from scratch but was still good. I came back for a mango refresher which was too strong and tasted artificial. Recommended by a friend, we had to try before leaving town, so we rushed to get in just before store closing. Opened the door and was instantly greeted by that rich coffee aroma! Loved the high ceilings, coffee brown shades of decor and walls and the history of the Yemeni coffee, variety and lots of seating! Tried a hot Adeni chai here. Very underwhelming I fear. I didn't taste much of the spices and it was a bit bland. You'd expect a good chai from a place like this but it did not deliver unfortunately. They have a very spacious seating arrangement though so I guess it'd be nice to study or do some work here. read more

I absolutely loved this place. We were in the area and decided to find a nearby coffee shop using our trusty YELP app. It gave me many options and I coat this place. I have to say that yelp did not steer me wrong. This place was awesome and I will definitely go back. They are a coffee shop that specifically focuses on Yemeni coffee and pastry. I got the Jubani coffee, and it was basically like a mix between chai and coffee. It was unlike anything I've had before. I really liked it! It wasn't what I was expecting or looking for, but I'm glad I tried it and enjoyed it. You MUST come here and try some of the specialty coffees. You won't find this in Starbucks! Very spacious place with ample parking out front and friendly staff. On this particular visit, we had a pot of their ginger tea and an assortment of desserts. We also tried their Dubai chocolate, which is all the rage right now and it was delicious and not overly sweet. We went with a group of 10 people, and other parties had larger groups so it's nice that they had plenty of seating. Would return! read more

The place is great, but the new seasonal matcha drinks here are unfortunately not my type. I tried both the matcha coconut and the matcha lavender, and both are a bit overly sweet. I wish there was a way to adjust the sugar and ice level similar to some other places. However, I thoroughly enjoyed their warm and crispy honeycomb cake. Each bite of the cake was filled with smooth butter cheese for that extra goodness and a good texture contrast with the exterior. Additionally, I tried the pistachio dream cake, which was equally amazing but also a bit on the too sweet side! I know that Qahwah House is known for their coffee line, so I hope to return again soon to try the other drink options. Pro tip: did you know that Qahwah House has multiple locations around the country and has an app for quick order? If you are short on time, you can order through the app to drop by for pickup. I was able to place my order through the app for an additional discount on the matcha drinks, and service was very quick! And you never have to wonder about the status of your order, since it's updated every step of the way on the app. Pro tip #2: There is plenty of sunlit seating in the coffee shop, so whether you are hoping for a cozy study area or a place to hangout with friends, this place is the perfect fit. The flavors were amazing. The Hazelnut shined through without feeling like you were drinking sugar. I was early, before people got their day started but there is tons of seating and space to bring your laptop, enjoy a cup of coffee and work a little. Qawah Coffee House is one of my favorite Middle Eastern coffee shops in Sugar Land! They have an extensive menu featuring Yemeni style coffee and teas as well as a wide selection of espresso-based drinks and loose leaf teas. My go-to is their hot Yemeni latte, which features coffee beans imported from Yemen and roasted in house. It is spiced with ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom and sweetened with a sugar syrup. The warm spices complement the bold, earthy espresso roast, and the latte is overall on the sweeter side, without being overpoweringly sugary. Although I would recommend asking for less syrup if you're sensitive to sweet drinks. They also have a large selection of delicious looking pastries that I hope to try one of these days, especially the Hazelnut Dream. The space is calm and inviting, although it can get busier and louder in the afternoons and early evenings. I would definitely recommend bringing noise cancelling headphones if you plan to study here. There is also an abundance of seating, although many of the tabletops are on the smaller side. The staff are friendly overall and the large space and bathrooms are kept clean despite the heavy traffic. I would recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for a place with good coffee to socialize or study, even with larger groups. read more

Tried 3 of the seasonal matchas as part of the 50% in-app promotion. Great deal but they didn't add any of the toppings that were advertised in the app. I like my matcha to taste like matcha; aside from the deep is green color prior to mixing, there wasn't much matcha to these drinks. I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't comment on what they're known for. All were too sweet, and the two fruity ones tasted like artificial flavored syrup. Staff are very friendly. There is free WiFi. Many people studying/working on laptops. Outdoor seating available as well. Ample conversations happening but the layout is so open so the white noise is fine. Kind of wish there was some background music for more cafe vibes. I would come back to try some of the pastries probably if in the area, but I will get my matcha somewhere else. read more

Initially, I went here because I found out it's Yemeni and I want to support Yemeni because of how courageous and good humored the culture looks on my social media for possibly over a year now. Luckily, helping others helps self is certainly true in this case. All the coffee is organic here, and taste like serious business and are beautifully served. The teas are amazing here, beautifully served too. I drink coffee, but I enjoy the teas so much, that I haven't gotten to the coffees yet. They have a bread pastry with something like cream cheese in each little bubble of the bread. It's drizzled with honey. It's delightful; visually, and in texture, and in taste. Not too sweet. The ambience is nice. The windows are huge, but inside is softly lit, and it's not too loud. Lots of good seating options. The other patrons are nice enough and it doesn't feel like a meat market as some coffee and tea shops can feel. I walk on clouds every time, after I have tea here. Cafe is big and beautiful interiorly. There are plenty of seatings indoor and outdoor. I had the 12oz Adeni Chai. The tea was not aromatic.the flavor was neither sweet nor spicy, and wasn't strong. I got some pastries to-go too. The pastries aren't made in-house. My favorite was the khaliat al nahl. The bread was soft and pulled apart easily. The cream cheese inside the bread complemented well with the honey. The lemon cake was soft and airy, but wasn't lemony. I did not particularly like the exterior white chocolate on the pistachio cake. The pistachio cake did not taste like pistachio. I wouldn't recommend getting the creme brûlée tart; it didn't taste anything like creme brûlée. As for the hazelnut tart, the chocolate was ok and the tart shell was soft and crumbly. There was only one staff who took orders, prepared the drinks, and cleaned up the floor and tables. Thus there would be some wait for the drinks. read more

This is a beautiful spacious coffee house with excellent coffee and coffee drinks. We just happened upon Qahwah House looking for food next door. I was pleasantly surprised to see the coffee shop name from the parking lot. The dark tint on the windows makes it difficult to determine if people are inside and the business is open. However, walking through the door you will be impressed with the size and decorations. It's larger than many restaurants. They offer organic coffee which is a big hit with me. Perhaps I've found a new place to buy my coffee beans. read more

A 5 star for the interior, a 3.5-4 star for the coffee/deserts. I love yemeni coffee and there have been a lot of counterparts opening up around the area. I just didn't feel like qahwah house's coffee was as comparable because it was too sweet and the spices did not shine through enough. I had also ordered a pistachio cake and that tasted like straight sugar with no pistachio taste to it. However, I LOVE this establishment for studying-- the interior is so spacious with many comfortable seating options and big tables. The only downside is the lack of outlets especially near the middle of the coffee shop. Overall, I look forward to coming back for future study grind days. read more

This location is so inconsistent! The first time we visited when they first opened, everything was amazing--the service, the drinks, all of it. But when we returned a month later, things had changed. They started using cheaper cups and plates for the chai, and they were out of random ingredients like whipped cream. We usually get the pot of Adeni chai, which is always good, but the service is never reliable here. Some employees are very sweet, but during our fifth or sixth visit, we encountered the rudest service. One of the employees was extremely rude, had an attitude, and was passive-aggressive for no apparent reason. My sister-in-law usually gets the affogato and noticed that this time, there was barely any ice cream in her cup. Since she's ordered it before, she knew something was off. I politely asked if they could add a bit more ice cream, and the employee gave me a condescending explanation about how the ice cream melted in the espresso. I understand how hot and cold work together, I just wanted a little more ice cream! She rolled her eyes and took the cup, clearly annoyed. The other employees behind the counter looked uncomfortable as she continued to huff and eye-roll. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name, but she was incredibly rude. Iced yemeni latte (2nd pic) - 7.5/10 - Tasted just like a latte with honey tbh but it was creamy and strong. Khaliat alnahi (bubble bread) - 9.5/10 - Best version of this bread ive had. It was so soft and delicious. Qahwah's staff were nice but seemed overwhelmed by the crowd. Waited about 15 minutes in line to order and another 15 to get my drinks. Lots of seating inside but it was almost completely full when I was there and it was a pretty loud environment with the high ceilings. I think I would've really enjoyed my matcha latte if it had been mixed all the way through but there were a good amount of sizable chunks of unsweet matcha clumps.
