First time at this coffee shop and absolutely loved my Mufawaar Yemini coffee. This is a single origin coffee where the beans are from Yemen and fresh roasted in house. The coffee, which has similarities to a Turkish coffee, is a medium roast with Cardamon and cream. Definately a unique flavor profile from what I am used to where it is a flavorful robust coffee that is well balanced with no harsh notes and oh so tasty. What I didn't know before coming here is that coffee originated out of Yemen some 500 years ago where they clearly have perfected the drink where this is a HUGE step up from the week diluted drink we call coffee here in the states. The coffee shop itself is bright, clean, very modern and very inviting with a casual vibe and nice Yemeni accents throughout to add to drinking experience. Staff is very friendly in explaining the drinks and how they are made and help guide you to the right drink choice as the names of drinks are very unique and a tad confusing as evidenced by my Mufawaar (: Overall an excellent unique coffee shop that is a must visit if you are a fan of good full bodied coffee. Stellar, fantastic coffee, and Qamaria provides an attentive mail order experience. This is a very opinionated review, but based on 50 years of lucky access to very fine coffees, and ideally you will consider it more enthusiastic and informed than smug and annoying. We live on the West Coast, were looking for Yemini coffee, and fortunately found Qamaria's website, ordering the Gate of Yemen dark roast. The roast is lighter and less oily than a French roast, as it should be, with some oil in the beans appropriate to something called a dark roast. We would say that Qamaria not only skillfully but more importantly respectfully roasts for the bean. This coffee makes us very happy, with a good dark "round" and balanced aroma to the ground beans and the brew. We made it pour over, but it feels most appropriate to stove top espresso or traditional style. It has a very satisfying long tail. A pour with a plot. A touch of the right kind of bitterness. The bean crushes easily between the fingers and grinds up finer than the espresso blend that we drink pour over (45% French Roast using Columbian beans, 45% Italian Roast using Mexican beans and 10% dark roast using Indonesian beans). Qamaria dark roast makes a pour over cup that is thicker than expected, which we find very satisfying: it's a sort of the character of traditional brewing but in a Chemex. We like the surprising way that a slight, fine sediment sneaks through the pour over paper filters and spreads across the tongue. Next we will move on to other Qamaria roasts and blends, brewing on stove top. The price point kills us, but how does one settle for ordinary to save money, when extraordinary gives such pleasure? read more

Just BEAUTIFUL AND EXQUISITE! The Dishes and cups and pots look like they're made for Kings and Queens! I've always wanted to a coffeehouse like this and I'm glad I finally did. I got the turkish coffee and I loved it! It's perfect for those who like a strong cup of coffee. Me personally, I'll be adding a shot of espresso in for the next time I go! My favorite Yemeni coffee shop in Michigan! The drinks are very reasonably priced and I'm so glad they don't overcharge for their service. Taste is out of this world! Service is delightful. They're so kind here and it makes it worth coming back. Good seating options if you want to come as a crowd or get some busy work done. Clean bathrooms! Tbh you can skip the dessert. My first time here and now I'll never be able to drink "plain" coffee again. But seriously, this place does an amazing job of bringing the unique flavors of authentic Middle Eastern coffees to an area where people's palettes have been sheltered by Starbucks and Speedway. Delicious coffees with hints of spices like cardamom, ginger, and others, each in different combinations. Because you're unfamiliar, there's no need to worry about what to try. The barista's here are super helpful and know exactly what to recommend. The menu is also easy to read and highlights what's popular. Contrary to popular belief, the first cup of coffee was brewed in Yemen -- not Seattle. Time to try something new. There are several different seating options, both inside and out. Whether sitting alone or with one or two others, or with/without a laptop, there are several different comfortable seating configurations to accommodate. Qamaria has quickly become our favorite coffee shop in the area and one of our favorite coffee shops in general. Beautiful and clean interior and lovely outdoor seating area so we can bring our dogs along on our coffee dates! Very pretty outside with the mosaic bistro tables and flowers. Also pretty tranquil on any average day - you forget you're at a strip mall right by M-5! Even more importantly, the coffee and pastries are absolutely delicious. My go to is the Qamaria latte with oat milk, which is so yummy in both hot and iced form. The spices that they add to the coffee add a perfect twist on the traditional latte. The honeycomb bread is also my fave. Can't get enough of the stuff and it takes everything in me not to get a second one! My fiancé is a cappuccino loyalist - he orders a cappuccino from every coffee shop we've ever been to (including all over Italy) - and he's said that Qamaria may have the best cappuccino he's ever had! The staff is friendly without being over the top and efficient. It never takes very long for them to deliver our order to our table, and the quality of our coffee/food has been consistent thus far. This cafe has been on our list for a long time. We have been visiting this particular location for a couple decades because it has been many different coffee shops starting with Coffee Caribou, and we enjoy this spot for coffee. We were excited to try this since it is so different from the surrounding shops. We ordered the Mufawaar hot coffee, iced Qamaria latte, and some soft date biscuits. I thoroughly enjoyed the biscuits and iced latte. The cookies had a great taste, and they were only basically $1.5 each (2 for $3). The iced latte had some great spice ,the coffee was good, and had the right amount of sweetness. I did not love the hot coffee. For my taste it did not have enough cream or enough sweetness. You could taste the earthiness of the spice, but it was not something I would order again. I would come back and try something else. Their other desserts looked amazing. I would love to come back for more of those. The individuals working here seemed very kind and knowledgeable. It was very busy, so this place is popular. It was hard to get a seat but we found one. This was my first time at Qamaria Coffee in Commerce and I was super impressed. The staff was nice and the menu is very easy to navigate, breaking down drinks into hot and iced, which I liked. Prices were average, about $6 for my iced latte. The inside ambiance is very comfortable and cozy. Seems like a good place to go and study. There was also an assortment of baked goods and desserts that looked very good, but I didn't try. I got a iced pistachio latte, which was delicious!
