The beans which are roasted at their warehouse facility yield a very smooth and full bodied coffee with great aromatics with no harsh notes. The cardamon adds a unique tasting note which I have come to appreciate and love when drinking these Yemini coffees. Relative to the facility it is a bright ultra clean restaurant with a nice industrial vibe. The aesthetics of this business along with their superior coffee make for a very enjoyable and relaxing environment to savor your cup of coffee. Nice! Overall great coffee and a nice relaxing environment are hard to beat where you should check this business out if you are in the West Bloomfield area. There were people who were hard at work and others who were quietly talking to each other. There was a place for me to sit and enjoy my macarons. The macarons were so tasty and just perfect. I picked out the strawberry and took the recommendation of the cashier for the other one. The vanilla coffee cake macaron was quite tasty and I would have it again. It was so nice that they were able to switch my large chai from a stay in the cage version (aka a large coffee cup) to a to-go one when I had to leave. That made it even more special. For my first drink here I ended up getting a latte where the espresso was made from organic fresh roasted in house beans. The drink was very well made with the correct ratio of milk to espresso and was creamy, balanced, where the espresso clearly shined through and most importantly the drink was quite tasty. Relative to staff and facility, Joe the owner greeted me as I walked in the door and was very friendly and outgoing where he knew the names of several customers as they walked into the coffee shop. Joes friendly demeanor appears to be one of the strengths of this business, aside from his excellent coffee, as evidenced the return customers that came in during the short period I was in his shop. The facility is quite clean with a nice coffee shop vibe to it. It has a smaller footprint with a limited number of tables for indoor dining where they also sell fresh roasted coffee beans by the bag, some pastries, and prepared food among other things. Overall great coffee at a reasonable price and a friendly owner makes this a shop not to be missed if you in the Novi area. Especially if you are a coffee geek like me.

The coffee, which has similarities to a Turkish coffee, is a medium roast with Cardamon and cream. Definately a unique flavor profile from what I am used to where it is a flavorful robust coffee that is well balanced with no harsh notes and oh so tasty. What I didn't know before coming here is that coffee originated out of Yemen some 500 years ago where they clearly have perfected the drink where this is a HUGE step up from the week diluted drink we call coffee here in the states. The coffee shop itself is bright, clean, very modern and very inviting with a casual vibe and nice Yemeni accents throughout to add to drinking experience. Staff is very friendly in explaining the drinks and how they are made and help guide you to the right drink choice as the names of drinks are very unique and a tad confusing as evidenced by my Mufawaar (: Overall an excellent unique coffee shop that is a must visit if you are a fan of good full bodied coffee. We chatted a bit about our dogs, shared photos (I always welcome those!), and was generally just such a pleasant, welcoming person. It was just a 4 min walk. How could I resist. Walked in and you get the smell. It's great. The bakery case is not huge like in Ann Arbor it's about 1/4th of that. You can smell the fresh made coffees. And there are some places to sit toward the back. It's a long space. Not big. I honed in on the mango pastry and banana pastry. I have seen these on-line and was dying to try them. They basically look like the real fruit but it's pastry with mousse and the fruit on the inside. Other bakeries do this too I think it's like a fun trend. I got both and brought them home to Ohio. My partner and I cut them in half and tried them. They were both good. Each tasted like their respective fruit. I think the mango was slightly better. But I'd get both again. They are light. You'd might not think so but they are. You can eat one and it's not sickening sweet and heavy. The opposite light with a touch of the fruit sweet. Really good! Now I am curious how other bakeries do it too.
