Chicken Quesadilla
Stephanie P.

The tortilla chips and queso were delicious as usual. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, I can tell you I miss having the Impossible meat or shrimp option. My quesadilla sort of had a " employee's relative came here, so they hooked them up" type of look going. I could barely taste any chicken.

a bowl of mexican food

It's the sort of place where you walk down the line and choose every ingredient you want in your Burrito or Bowl so if that's what you're your looking for then it's the place for you. Personally I always find that a bid confusion but there were lots of choices, the man the waited on me was extra pleasant and the place was clean. I got one of the bowls. The ingredients were quality and it tasted good. So even though I'm not a fan of micromanaging every ingredient in my meal, it was a nice place for quick lunch and it should get me through the day.

I went there to get some tacos and waited in the line for 20 minutes and when it was my turn the lady who was making the food waited to tell me they were out of rice after waiting 30 minutes and then she tells me it will be another 35 minutes if I want wait for the rice, very careless employee, they very slow and rude

Nachos with ground beef and cheese
Shan E.

So I love nachos. Nothing fancy for me just ground beef and cheese. This place is close to where I work so it's no surprise I go here to get nachos. To be completely honest, it's hit or miss. I went Tuesday and asked for extra Queso. The employee sprinkled a little on there. I was thinking I'm asking doe this and I'm ok with paying for it but what I was given was not considered "extra" I went on Wednesday and the nachos were perfect. I didn't have to ask for anything "extra". There is always management there when I go but they just sit at tables with papers and a laptop. They don't fraternize with the patrons. I smiled at a guy with a QDOBA shirt sitting at the table with the papers and laptop and I was just stared at.......so much for warmth. I only get the nacho from there and they are good. I haven't tried anything g else. If you are looking for an inviting experience, this may not be the place for you but if you want good nachos, give them a visit

3 Street Style Chicken Tacos
Sarah D.

I remember when this place first opened. I find it is not the same now. I haven't been here in a while as it's not convenient to where I live but also because there are many other fast casual places to get good Mexican eats. Unfortunately with this visit I will probably not come back for a while, but all was not bad. I'll start with what didn't have me wanting more (or perhaps just disappointed me a little) so I can end on a good note. While the consistency of the queso was good and thick, and my daughter seemed to enjoy it, I found that it left a lot to be desired, and had that powdered cheese taste like used on ballpark nachos. If I can stop eating queso after a couple of chips, there is a problem, because chips and queso is something that is usually like crack for me. I had the 3 Street Style chicken tacos. They had good flavor and tasted relatively fresh, but I was disappointed that they were only served with chopped purple onions instead of the pickled red onions as advertised. I definitely think the pickled onions would have added a nice pop of flavor. I am a big fan of soft corn tortillas, and while these tasted just fine, I think they could be toasted a little more to help be a good vessel for the taco ingredients (but this is perhaps a personal preference). So--nothing was a total fail, but I think there is definitely room for improvement considering how solid the competition is. I will also say that, on another positive note, the staff were extremely friendly and did a great job--kudos to them and whoever trained them. I will eventually make my way back there and probably try something different. I hope that in the meantime it will return to the place I once remembered.

Three 3-Cheese Nachos

I remember eating here very often years ago. It's not the place I remember. The food was okay and overall the service was just okay. I recall the food being more flavorful back when. It could also use some tidying up. While dining I heard two voices arguing and to my surprise it was the manager and an employee. They were really going at it and tensions were high. Another patron near our table just shook his head and said, "young kids..." A guest of the employee also stepped in and started cursing. It was just a lot, especially with the way things are going today.

An amazing taco salad and frozen top self margarita

I'm all about great service and at Qdaba one can not beat the excellent service from such a awesome staff. The staff gives such a welcoming feel when you enter the establishment and your instantly helped. The food is hot and full of flavor, and the prices are easy on the pockets. They also serve a top shelf frozen margarita that will blow your socks off !! I recommend Qdaba for an awesome stop on your lunch break or an delightful place for a family outing.

I take baths in their tortilla soup every night. My bathtub is a giant taco shell. It's a good life.

There is nothing special here. The toppings were decent but the tortillas are sticky. Chipotle is way better.

Rude staff, skimpy portions and rancid chips (both times I got them). Lunch time is kinda ok staff but otherwise, stay away from this place.

OMG... what a yummy spot that has been sleepy secret until NOW…read more... The food is so fresh, authentic and delicious. Dinner starts with complementary chips and salsa that are super yummy. Got the trio dip that has this cheesy gooey queso , corn with herbs and cheese and chunky guacamole. We order the carne asada and poncho mixto. The freshness of the food. I will go back and continue to try a new dishes ! But they also have tacos and burritos. The drinks were good too!!! Service was awesome. Gloria was our waitress and she provided some assistance with the choices made. We ate in the bar area. It wasn't spicy like most salsa that I taste, but it also had a different flavor. I couldn't really put my finger on what the difference was, but it was really good. I ordered the Carne Asada and it was 10 out of 10 for presentation. The dish came steaming, sizzling and smoking as they sat it down and it continued to do so for over a minute. While the steak was cooked properly, medium well as I requested, it was very tough. Maybe it was an angry cow. Regardless, the staff was very attentive. And the service was very fast. Ambience was nice and it felt very comfortable although it was a bit cold so I had to go and get a jacket for my mom and my sister-in-law. I would give them another try the next time I'm in the area. The menu had a few options that I would be interested in.

We have been regular customers here weekly for over two years…read more Jim Uridales goes out of his way to cook the most delicious cuisine in our area. There are many choices on the menu. Tonight I got Spanish coffee and a chili relleno. The Spanish coffee is an alcohol drink that can be used as a dessert. Yummy! The chili rellenllo was filled with dellicious ground seasoned beef. It has a coating and is deep fried. The pulled pork quesadillas are so yummy- this is what my hubby got tonight. I like the way the seating is here. There are booths and tables and all are comfortable. Though you may be sitting near another table, the acoustics are such that others talking are not bothersome. This is a pet peeve for me- many times I would rather eat at home - but here, the restaurant here feels like our family now. They are known for their delicious margaritas; but the bar can mix most any drink . I love Mestizos, the yummy food and varied menu mmm is the word! My husband and I are self proclaimed foodies. We love most everything on their menu. The chefs Dad owned a Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge for years- " Carlos" Uridales inspired his son, Jim, to open his own restaurant. Mestizos has been in business for over 25 years. Jim Uridales and his crew are also benevolent members of Baton Rouge and they are a service oriented group of professionals. The menu prices are slightly higher on some items, however, scallops with shrimp here are very delicious and perfectly browned in a buttery flavored manner and this menu item sells for 30 dollars and it's the most costly entree on the menu. Their tapas menu is more budget friendly and delicious. I urge you to try this delicious menu for yourself. We love their catering department too!

We came on a Sunday, and I got a delicious brunch!…read more The restaurant wasn't busy for an early lunch, so we got seated right away. Immediately upon walking in, I loved all of the colors and the vibes of this Mexican restaurant. When you sit down, they bring chips and salsa to your table. I wasn't a huge fan of the salsa or the chips. The chips had some seasoning on them and to me, it didn't mix well with the salsa. The salsa was really thin, and I prefer a chunky salsa with a salted thick chip lol. I was feeling adventurous and got the French toast on the brunch menu. It was delicious! The berry compote and the two different syrups paired really well with it. The bacon that it came with was perfection. I ate every last bite. I did have a bite of my friends tacos, and they were good but on smaller side in my opinion. Our waitress was great and there were plenty of tvs to watch while we waited. This is definitely Tex-Mex rather than traditional Mexican, but it hits the spot if that's what you're craving. The real standout is the decor and ambiance, especially after renovating and expanding. It's a fantastic space to hang out and chitchat with friends over dinner. The service has always been great and efficient for me. I can't remember the server I often got - maybe Joshua? Their yearly Cinco de Mayo party is also always fun and a vibe! Overall, still a solid spot in Baton Rouge for Tex-Mex and close to LSU campus.
