Most of you reading this have probably been to a Qdoba or a similar style restaurant like Chipotle or Pancheros. I'd like to specifically say that this is one of the best Qdoba's -- and Mexican/burrito-style places -- I've ever been to. The service is always professional, kind, and efficient. The owners/managers are always present and ready to help with a smile. I really enjoy coming to this Dinkytown location. Plus, Qdoba has what others do not: free anything on your burrito or burrito bowl! Unlike Chipotle, it doesn't cost extra to add queso or guac to your entree. Everything's included and everything is delicious! Qdoba was in the queso game long before Chipotle was, so obviously they're doing it better. Their spicy queso is delicious! Life hack: if you get a burrito bowl and ask for a tortilla on the side, you can basically make your own burrito. My friend always tears the tortilla into 1/4s and then makes mini-burritos! I swear you get more if you do a bowl and ask for a tortilla on the side--more fits into the bowl than fits into the burrito. We use them a bunch for catering, too! They do an awesome job with catering. It's easy and everyone loves it because you just make your own burrito or bowl or nachos. They give you SO MANY CHIPS you'll have leftovers for weeks. First off-I've always loved Qdoba. I visited their Corvallis, Oregon location a ton when I was in graduate school. They have (in my opinion) more options than Chipotle does, and they offer more coupons and specials. I visited this location right at 12pm on a weekday; originally thinking I was going to be able to order online and go pick up a large order (for 10 people). When my meeting went late, I quickly scrapped that plans and hoped the employees wouldn't hate me for bringing in a list of 10 different entrees (especially during the potential lunch rush). I walked in, informed the woman working I had about 10 entrees to order, and her and the manager quickly assembled a way for us to get all of our entrees ordered quickly while helping other customers out. I was really impressed! They were able to handle all of the orders in a timely fashion and get all of our burrito bowls, tacos, quesadillas, and burritos the way we wanted them. They didn't short us on any amount of ingredients, and were happy to help us at a busy time. 5 stars just for the service; when they could have easily just been really upset at us. They were also happy to write names on all of the burritos for us to ensure people got the correct items they wanted. They gave us certain items on the side, and ensured all of the items were run up correctly. Everyone was happy with their food when I brought them back! Also if you're interested, they do have an app to get rewards. Every time you go to the restaurant you can use your phone to scan your rewards, and after going a handful of times you are able to get some free items. They don't have any free parking because it is in Dinkytown, but you can use street parking if you need to parkk. read more

Qdoba vs. Chipotle? Why do you have to choose? I will say that I think Chipotle has better ingredients, but the queso sauce is way too bomb to even care. Get the nachos, with the chips on the side, and get ready for cheesy goodness. Their breakfast burritos are really good, but the secret is that they're available late at night as well (you just have to ask- they take down the menu) and probably one of the best drunk munchies options in Dinky. Their staff is always super friendly and they also do some great promotions. Stay away! This place canceled on me! I placed an order for 32 burritos today, gave my credit card number, phone number, and email address. They told me that they would be able to accommodate my large order. I received a phone message 20 minutes later telling me that they didn't have the staff to fulfill the order and THEY were canceling the order on ME, the customer. I understand that it was a holiday, but if you can't take the order, maybe you shouldn't accept it in the first place. Don't give me some song and dance about there being a 24 advanced notice policy AFTER you've already accepted it. I have given other Qdoba restaurants repeat business, but this was the first (and last) time I have been to this location. Granted, I have not been to one in a couple of years, so perhaps there have been sweeping changes for the worse throughout the entire franchise, but this location seems to have really nailed the worst way of doing business. First and foremost, the food: it was on-par with a store-brand microwaved burrito. The meat in all dishes was nasty, flavorless, and dried out. The rice was dried out as well. The beans smelled HORRIBLE. And to prove they could just as readily screw up the small stuff, no sour cream on the 3-cheese nachos as requested. If not just as important was the service. We placed the order online at 2:15 for a 2:45 pickup (we had the dog with, so didn't want a long wait), not exactly a "peak period." Went in to get the order at 2:43, and the guy at the counter collected her payment and told her that it was not yet ready; that it in fact had not even been started. He then proceeded to walk back to the kitchen while my wife was still talking to him. No apologies about the order, no "excuse me a moment," no prediction as to when the order would be ready. My wife went to the car to wait with the dog. She went back in at about 2:50, and the order was bagged and ready on the counter. The manager came over to her, pointing at the receipt, and said, "The food was on time. See - it says here on the receipt that it was ready at 2:43." My wife informed him that the clerk told her that it wasn't ready at that time, to which he replied, "No, see right here? Your food was on time." Again, no apologies, no "sorry about the delay," the manager clearly just wanted to make a point about when the receipt said the food was ready (and refused to listen to questions as to why she was told it wasn't ready). read more

One fateful day where I found myself super hungry and in the neighborhood, I decided to try out Qdoba. Because I usually go to Chipotle, where they charge you an arm and a leg for guac and queso, when the nice worker asked me if I wanted queso or guac I decided to splurge and get just queso. When I looked at my final bill I saw that the queso was FREE! I later realized that guac and queso are free at Qdoba, *que heavenly sounds*. I had to go back the next week and take advantage of the free guac and queso, and again it did not disappoint. It seems like they have more options on the menu than Chipotle and it tastes really good. I ordered a chicken burrito bowl and my husband ordered a chicken burrito. The rice for both of ours was dry and stale tasting, I had white, he had brown. The rest of the ingredients also seemed less than fresh. We were there around 3 in the afternoon and it wasn't busy at all, so maybe they were just serving leftover stuff from lunch, it really was not fresh. The pop machine they have can be used by only ONE person at a time. Plus you have to push at least 3 buttons just to get your drink to start pouring. The choices on the machine are nice, but I'd hate to have to deal with the slowness during a lunch rush. Overall, I probably would avoid this place, because they don't seem to care about freshness. One of my staple lunch or breakfast places. For lunch I usually like to get their burritos and bowls but on cold days the gumbo really hits the spot. I've never had a bad experience with the food or service here. For breakfast their chorizo breakfast burrito never missed the mark! So good and super filling. This location of Qdoba's is the same as any other that I have been to. It is an entry into the fast food world featuring Mexican food. All of the standards that you would expect are here, tacos, burritos and the like. What sets this place apart from the Taco Bell's of the world is that it is set up much like a Subway restaurant insofar as they have a lot of fresh ingredients for you to pick from. You tell them what you want in your dish and they build it in front of you. The drink fountain is separate from the ordering station, so your refills are free. The servers were friendly and were quick to make suggestions when I asked. I would definitely go back here. read more

I went into the Dinkytown location to order a burrito and the tall gentlemen who stepped up to helped me seemed like he could think of a million other things he'd rather do than help a customer. After I told him I would like a steak burrito he started doing "tricks" with the burrito bowl. He then proceeded to start making the burrito and then said "I forgot to tell you we don't have steak" and then another worker told him they had steak ready he just had not grabbed it yet. The gentlemen helping me then yelled in the back to an employee and turned around and said "This n**** is eating chicken" and continued to use profanity not just in front of me but also in front of other customers in line. Speak however you want outside of the workplace but for an employee to speak this way in front of paying customers leads me to believe that the Dinkytown location and Qdoba as a whole do not care about respecting the customer and using respectful language. I can only assume that the manager/owner of this location has absolutely awful leadership or they are blind to the conduct that takes place in this location. I would never return to this location and would much rather go to a restaurant where I feel my business is appreciated instead of feeling like the workers do not care about the customer and respect at all. Yes, the delivery guy should've checked if everything was in the bag, but it's the restaurant's job to make sure the order is correct in the first place.
