Pesto Zone ummm it wasnt worth it at all

This place is really for the college kids after a late night of partying drink beer and doing some of everything. The food isnt good but the ladies working the register on 12/9/23 into the closing shift were amazing.

I tried DP Dough last night. I went with a group of ten friends. We ordered cookies. They brought out 10 most delicious chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. They were just the right amount of crisp and soft. Hot and gooey. I'm hooked! The worker was awesome. He was pleasant to visit with and responded positively when we kept asking for things like napkins, water, etc. I'm excited to go back and try some of their menu items. I highly recommend trying their cookies the next time you're in the area. Good customer service, good food and a good price.

I didn't actually go inside of the store but I did Doordash the food. Now I will say this is one of the most well put together calzones that I have ever had before and it was still hot when I got it. I am an Italian food connoisseur and let me tell you this place didn't miss. If you're a local or a visitor in the area, do your taste buds a solid and get a Calzone from here!

If you are ever in Minneapolis and realize that you can't buy beer past 10pm and need to calm your soul, I have the place for you. The names make no sense, but it doesn't matter. Appreciate that you are given the opportunity to eat these delicious masterpieces of Italian goodness. I am actively trying to convince my wife to let me pour their garlic butter on her to no avail. It's amazing. Eat there, unless you hate yourself.

This was my first experience ordering from this location and will be my last ordering from the company altogether. I ordered 4 steak and cheese calzones and requested Au Jus on the side. The D.P. Dough in Normal, Illinois serves Au Jus but I guess this location doesn't. Well when I received my order, they wrote on one of the boxes "We don't serve Au Jus. This isn't Portillos." I immediately called this location and requested to speak with a manager. Alex came to the phone and was extremely nonchalant about the entire situation. She did not offer any solution to the problem. She was just like..."Ok", which makes me believe she wrote it. So now, I'm sitting here out of $50 because of foolishness. I took a bite out of the calzone and it taste like garbage, just like their customer service. So I just threw it away smh.

The wait can be long, but they open real late when everything else is closed. DP Dough always there for you when you starvin... Calzones are pretty decent if you got the time to wait for it. Calzones are cheesy and thicc, worth.

I really enjoyed my meal here! This was my first calzone experience, brought on by a 4 for $20 coupon my friend had. A group of us came in and waited in line (pretty busy due to said coupon). Once we ordered, we all enjoyed a variety of calzones (I liked the Italian!). I like that it came with marinara sauce on the side so you could choose just how much sauce you wanted. I will definitely be back to try some more. Also, look for the wifi password on the chalkboard wall!

I finally went in to DP dough last weekend when they had a 4 calzone for $20 bucks deal, and I'm so glad I went! I've been driving by this place for months with every intention of trying it, and while I haven't tried a ton of calzones, I loved every bite of it. With a ton of different calzones, it was initially tough for me to decide on my dinner choice. I ended up going for the Chicken Parmigian calzone, and it was SO GOOD y'all! Perfectly cooked, nice even layer sauce of cheese, chicken, and sauce, and a great blend of spices. I was pleasently surprised on how full it made me afterwards. I was also fortunate to meet their owner, Brian, when I was there. On such a busy day (with a line out the door) the staff was exceptionally friendly and quick to take our orders. Brian was awesome explaining about their promotions and options on their menu as well. If you haven't been here-please go and try it!!!

Ever since 2020, the climate surrounding the George Floyd Square has changed dramatically, and this establishment has become an even stronger integral part of the community as the square itself had represented how the community thrives with its people. A lot of respect for the establishment from that perspective. In terms of food, I would say the soul food, which contained mostly sides, were the main highlight for me. The mac & cheese was salty enough. The fries were solid in a "you can't really go wrong with it" type of way. The candied yams had enough sweetness. The collard greens could taste better but standards must be lower when they're not homemade. I also enjoyed the catfish fillets as they were fried to preserve enough hotness and softness. A lot of what they served, they made on the spot, which was what may be causing longer wait for some. Meat-wise, a lot of items could use further improvement because they were too dry, such as the smoked wings and the beef brisket. The wings were dry to the point that they condensed and got extremely salty. The brisket relied a lot on the sauce and the existing fat on the meat for juiciness while the meat itself didn't have a lot of flavor or juice. As for the ribs, they had some seasoning, and tasted just fine, and weren't as dry. But I have had ribs in Texan barbeque places before and knew what "seasoned" ribs were like and therefore concluded that the ribs here were not spectacular. With all that said, however, I still will return here as often as I can because I love supporting this business. The person serving me was very hospitable and patient. I still got some pretty solid barbeque even if it's not Texas. Besides, outside just the barbeque food, the soul food was solid, like I had mentioned above.

The bartender was pretty casual, but efficient and friendly during my stay! I went with the classic Rush Hour 4, since that was what I had seen most on social media! It was delicious perfection! The fried rice is fresh, with some veggies to give it a bit of uniqueness. The chicken tenders are the star...crispy, juicy, lovely flavor! Tender Lovin Chix moved into a sizable brick&mortar restaurant out of what I assume was a successful food truck. My to-go order came out of the kitchen quickly (~10 min) which I appreciate but I waited awkwardly at the host stand and ordered food from the bar. There seems to be table service but only one server for the whole dining room and no host. Hopefully it's just a wrinkle that will get smoothed out over time. There are TVs all over the place so the game is the vibe. The interior is clean and there's a spacious bar that looks comfortable to eat and drink at. There is plenty of seating inside and also patio chairs and tables on the sidewalk. You'll find a few parking spaces out back. So, it's got more going than your average sports bar but still seems like more of a casual spot than sit-down dining. My chicken sandwich was juicy inside and crispy outside with a buttery soft bun holding it all together. The side of fried rice had a good texture and mild, pleasant flavor. The onion rings were classic - thick and fried crisp. Everything was well prepared and tasted great. It's real comfort food that will hit just right when paired with a beer or cocktail and a win from your favorite local sports team. I didn't see many veggie options on the menu which was not a surprise. Bottom line - if you want some fried chicken, this spot is worth a shot.

The patio is superb, and although you sometimes share it with a passing train, it's tucked away and is a nice separation from the business of the surrounding north loop. I'd argue the wings are easily top 3 in the whole state, they're always crispy, and the monthly specials are clearly thought over and iterated on by talented chefs that want to try new and unique things. The pizza is also probably the best Detroit style in the city, try the Elote and you'll see what I mean. Staff is a hoot, they're all super nice, great to talk to, and have honest opinions about their own menu. Seriously, if you're anywhere near the downtown area, go here.

They offer whole chicken, boneless and regular wings in 14 different seasoning, (Not all of the seasonings are available for the whole chicken) along with a big variety of sides. We asked about a couple of the flavor options, they offered us a small sample of the seasoning to help us decide. We chose the small honey garlic wings and a small Gangnam style wings. A small is 8 wings, a medium is 16 wings and a large is 24 wings. The wings themselves are good sized. We also ordered the cheesling fries which was also a very generous portion. The wings were very crisp and hot when they came out. The kept there crunch through our whole meal! I was impressed that the breading didn't start to get soggy. The Gangnam Style was sweet and salty with a little spiciness. It was spicy for me, but very tasty. I would be able to enjoy a couple pieces but the heat would eventually get to be too much for me.
