Wow! This is a great store! We have these is California, but they are no where near as great as this one. The ones back home are kind of ugly and gross. This one is super nice on the inside! They have great produce, meats, etc. Large selection and great prices! They also have quite a bit of garden supplies and things both in the store and outside (most likely a seasonal thing). The staff are really great, friendly, and helpful. Check out their weekly ads, there are lots of great deals in there! They also have them at the store for you, but sometimes it's nice to know what you're going to get before you get there. I will definitely be back. read more

This is an excellent neighborhood store, staff are kind and helpful. I like that they have good gluten free options for bread and sweets and very fresh produce. Also you can find some killer deals here if you are purchasing food you're gonna consume quickly (expiring soon). It's not a big store either which I think is nice. read more

QFC - Grocery Near Me - Portland, Oregon

So pros about this place. It's close to where I live, not a lot of people shop here so it has unpicked over produce and lots of discount items. Cons- a bit overpriced and the non check out staff is horrendous. I've had poor service from the deli, but the meat area is the worse. After several minutes waiting why this guy hung out in the back he finally asked if he could get me something. I asked about the chicken cordon bleu since I wanted something quick and easy. Prep time? "30 minutes" he says. That might be true if it wasn't premade frozen crap that might as well be in a box. 40 minutes in the oven and it registers at a balmy 42 degrees. I'm a FAN of this QFC store. I like to go in the Middle of the Afternoon. You can get some GREAT Markdowns on Fish, and Other Items here. :) It's usually on my way Home from doing Other things in the Mt. Tabor Area.... so I stop in here Frequently. I like this Little Mall Area that is located in the QFC's surroundings, as well. I catch the Bus Home most days... although, I have walked from Downtown Broadway and Couch to as far Out to the Rainbow Dragon Restaurant One Time in the Past. :) Did you know.... that's over 35,000 steps ( I have an Odometer / Pedometer )! When we first moved to the neighborhood in 2008 we'd never heard of QFC. It only has a couple of locations in Portland, and has much larger footprints north of the Columbia. We are so glad that it's our nearest grocery store. There's also a Fred Meyer a few blocks away, and we go there when we need a bigger selection or cheaper options. QFC isn't the least expensive grocery store. It's a step above the run of the mill Safeway and Freddies. We can count on them for great meat and produce, a killer cheese selection in the deli, but the biggest reason we LOVE this QFC is their wine. They have a better wine selection than a lot of the local wine stores. In their wine cellar in the back they have some rare and special wines, and both in the cellar and on the shelves they have some great local wines. Rob - the wine steward who works the hours I tend to shop is super knowledgable, and he remembers what I like which is great. I love a good dry rose, and I'm a sucker for good bubbly - so imagine my surprise when he showed me what would become one of my favorites, a dry rose bubbly! Over the years he's given us some excellent recommendations. We are pretty dang loyal to them for the majority of our wine buying. For you beer lovers they also have an excellent bottle selection...a lot of the things that I thought were exclusive to Belmont Station can also be found at QFC - who knew? Everybody who works at this store is super friendly and helpful. They remember us which is always nice and welcoming. The pharmacy almost never has a wait which is very nice. If you're around, do some shopping and I hope you leave with some yummy cheese and a nice bottle of something excellent! read more

Whole Foods' prices for Safeway's quality. Stock more of those cheese bagels that have all everything stuff on them too. Sick of having to chose between one or the other, because my magic combo is missing. Young stocker attitudes need to change when behind the cash register. Appreciate some of the very nice, more seasoned, employees. Some of the magazines are only in the checkout line and not in the true magazine section. What is up with that? I watched the manager, J.R., berate an older gentleman because was having a little difficulty with the self checkout station. Good opportunity to kindly assist, especially in the middle of this virus outbreak, but he just continued to treat him rudely. Why be mean to your customers? There are a lot of options out there with good customer service. No need to waste time at QFC is they treat their customers like this. read more

Only living 2 blocks away makes this QFC is my 7-11. And minus the Slurpee machine, has a much better (healthier) selection of foods. I do my big shopping at Freddy's down on Glisan, but I love to do my "on sale" produce shopping at QFC. Their produce is the freshest I have encountered in a "super" market. They have a great deli, olive bar and their meat / butcher shop is fantastic. Wine selection is pretty big considering the size of this store. Love the "manager special" mark downs as well. They must be pretty good to work for as I have seen the same employees there for years. They have a really nice selection of "prepared" but uncooked meat in the butcher case. When I and the hubby have a hankering for a "cooked on the grill at home hamburger", they have specialty patties that are fantastic. I have also enjoyed some of the stuffed roasts and fresh fish. They are my go to at Thanksgiving to order a fresh turkey as well. I wish they would price their Kroger brand the same as Freddy's ( it all comes from the same warehouse) cause I would buy more of my staples there read more

I've shopped at the QFC on Burnside in Portland for 15 years. I like the convenience to my house and easy in and out shopping. However, today I experienced the rudest employee during my checkout in the self check line. He is middle aged wearing a fishing hat and a face shield. A spot opened up so I scanned my items. I had a coupon so I had to wait for assistance. He came over and abruptly told me to "step back". I understand that he needed space, but nicely reminding me to give him room would have been more appropriate. He then told me in the same tone that next time I needed to wait for him to call me forward so he could clean the station first. There isn't a sign telling customers to wait to be called forward. I shop here weekly and I appreciate the extra effort to keep the store cleaned for everyone's safety but honestly there isn't consistency with cleaning the self check area. He was clearly not having a good day and took it out on me. As a woman, he must have viewed me as an easy target. I will think twice before I shop there again and I definitely won't use the self check if he's working! I'd rather wait 30 minutes in the longest line than be yelled at! read more

Fantastic beer and wine selection at the east Burnside location. They almost always have what I'm looking for, which is handy because I live very close. Hell, they even won some bonus points with me tonight because I scoured another nearby grocery store to pick up a funnel with a much larger home goods department only to hit a dead end. Not QFC! They had funnels like any other sensible store would. I will say that their meat department is a bit, shall we say, "meh." Produce is okay, but nothing special. I was going to give this a 3-star review but I had to add one more because of their good beer selection (the Hubs gives it a thumbs-up). It's also nice to have a 24hr grocery close to home. My only gripes are that it's a fairly small store so there's less selection and it's not organized very well. I usually end up having to hunt for something on my list. read more

QFC. What can I say? Better quality of meat/seafood than nearby Fred Meyer (though slightly pricier). They have good produce for a reasonable price (though Fred Meyer tends to be more affordable for produce). The produce guy is weird. Do you really need to comment on how I want to pick which bag of cherries I buy? That's my right as a consumer. They have a delicious banana cake, everyone I've ever given a slice to has fallen absurdly in love with it. . . go figure, who would have though? The staff is friendly. Josh is always super nice and Dylan gave us a great tip on how to save on a case of wine when he saw how much wine we bought (if only the wine steward would order it and call us!!!). I love that they are open 24 hours, but hate that they stop checking you out at about 7ish and you have to do it yourself. Maybe I'm a lazy B*tch, but when it's 11pm, I don't want to have to figure out the code for that lime or an avocado. Sometimes if you look like you really don't want to do it yourself and Dylan or that Asian guy is in charge will l do it for you at the U-scan. Plus I met my S.O. here. So you can pick up a good bottle of wine, a banana cake and a husband or wife. read more

I shop here every once in awhile, usually later at night (open 24/7 = bonus!). They have one of the best wine selections in town, for a grocery store, and just added a new "cellar" with the REALLY good stuff. Me likey. I won't say I go out of my way to shop here, but I will save my shopping until I am in the neighborhood. For an urban grocery store it has parking! That's huge to me because I hate fighting for parking when I just want to zip in after work and I feel guilty because I am in a car. The produce is always great, the meat counter is fresh. I can get everything I want and need here at a reasonable price, check it out myself and be on the road. I like it because it has good selection and quality, but isn't a huge, huge place that feels like a corn maze. read more

Ugh. We come here because it's in walking distance, but once again they're understaffed to the point that we've gone to self checkout. I hate self checkout. It's so picky that on every item we bag, it pauses with "ATTENDANT HAS BEEN NOTIFIED TO ASSIST YOU". There is no attendant, and we didn't need one. We need a machine that isn't garbage. read more

The 4 stars are mostly for their wine and meat/fish depts. The rest of the products are usually higher priced than other places even if same products. I've shopped here every day for about the last year and a half since moving to my place, I don't like to "grocery shop" so I end up just stopping in before work to grab my coffee, breakfast, and lunch real quick. Well for the last few months or more my girlfriend has been coming with me every now and then. We bring her little dog which is well behaved, cleaner then 80% of the customers, and quiet. She even holds him in her arms the whole time. Every time multiple employees would come up and pet him and say how cute he is even. We can't really leave him at home because he gets very scared and it causes him much stress due to past experiences before my girl adopted him. Well one day some lady with a giant rats nest on her head started yelling and flipping out for no reason following us around and antagonizing us yelling "there's a dog in the store!" She eventually left us alone and went and found some lady I've never seen before that claimed to be the manager and told US that we were the problem and couldn't come in with our puppy anymore. This is exactly why the other location shut down. Your business plan is flawed. Consistent paying customers shouldn't be alienated just because whoever is "in charge" feels sorry for some nasty old lady that's complaining over literally nothing. Since it's only around the corner from home my girl still tries to shop there and tie her dog up outside, which is absurd. Her puppy shouldn't have to have his safety jeopardized because this one woman now has an issue. Even though I've never seen rats nest lady before or again after that, the "manager" of a GROCERY STORE still wants to throw her weight around over it. So now whenever I'm home and my girl is with me I take every chance I can to pack them in the car and drive to Fred Mayer to give them my money instead. She hates taking him in the car or I'd do it every single time. Congratulations QFC. Another bad review and more lost money. Way to go. read more

This is my neighborhood store and usually while I'm here I receive nothing but positive interaction from the employees but tonight was a different story. I don't know if it was because I am with my friends but I feel like we were treated differently - all 3 of us work in customer service and mutually agree that the self checkout attendant Doug was abrasive and contextually rude. This is not something I'd expect because for all of us this is our neighborhood store and as a longtime Portland resident QFC has been a centerpiece in my shopping because of its hours. It saddens me that I have been treated differently because of the people I was with. I hope it was not an issue of race but that's what it seemed to be. Now I am tempted to just shop at Fred meyer even if it's further away from my house. I don't know if Doug was in a bad mood from the repetitive Christmas music or if it was just a bad day but as somebody whos been in customer service for 7 years the way he came off was impatient, hostile and unwelcoming. read more

Bought some turkey from this delightful young man at the deli counter today. He was so charismatic and charming, I really felt welcome and to me, that is the kind of great customer service I expect from a business I am going to give my money to. But, the deli manager made a rude gesture to him during our interaction, implying he should "tone it down". I find that incredibly offensive, inappropriate and just down right unprofessional! He had no business interfering with this light hearted young man, and degrade him for simply making an older gal feel welcome. That poor young man was such a dear and didn't deserve that condescending and POINTLESS gesture. The only person who needed to "tone it down" was that rude manager. I've been at the counter many times and he (the manager) has kept me waiting more than once while the other workers were already busy. Someone should give him a lesson or two in customer service/talking to people in general! read more
