Qitopia in Willowbrook is an Asian Massage therapy business. They offer both chair massage and table massage. The massage is not the common soft swirling caresses of most other massage therapy studios, but a deep penetrating muscle relaxing massage. I opted for the sports massage and it certainly fit the bill. Rooms are private with an open ceiling and linens appear to be changed after each patron. All masseurs have their license / certificate displayed by the front desk and their massage is professionally performed. A small bottle of water is presented after the massage and all of the pricing is clearly displayed on the front counter. As in any business, I've noted that there are longtime employees and the staff is updated with new masseurs. Ensure that you request "strong", if you wish a deep tissue, strong massage. Be aware that asian massages typically use acupressure points and not everyone can handle a "strong" massage!! LOL read more

I walked in and was greeted immediately by a male masseuse. I tried the chair massage. You could choose less or more time but i went with 30 min. I went there because I had severe neck stiffness and my one shoulder was killing me. I told him about my issues and he went right to work on them. He asked me what type of pressure, i went with hard. It seemed like she had a language barrier.She massaged so hard on my neck that it gave me pain. Right after massage, i couldn't tell, but as the time passed by, i kept getting continuous pain on my neck, and also on my shoulder n back. She massaged hard with elbow on shoulder and back. she shoudl have done softly with her hands.. I got discomfort, and still has bad pain. And she barely massaged my legs. I feel like it is waste of money going here. They act like they are professionals, but they should at least speak basic english, and ask how soft or how hard i want the massage. The front desk was friendly. I had a reflexology session. The room is not private. I shared it with 2 other clients. The music is very low. I think it can be turned up louder so you don't have to hear the therapists breathing or spreading of lotion on the skin. As for the reflexology, I think it felt a little rushed and it didn't seem to be a full reflexology routine but that of a normal foot massage. The price is not going to break your wallet so I guess it was good for the money you will spend. First time at Qitopia and it was the best deep tissue massage I have ever had. The experience is quite different than Massage Envy which I have also visited. I would say Qitopia is more no frills without the introductory orientation and questionnaire to get to know you. The rooms are comfortable with light relaxation music in the background. Lulu got right to work and found all my problem spots without me mentioning them (back and shoulder tightness). I like a very strong massage and she worked wonders with her elbows. She put my arms in different positions behind my back and above my head to attack my shoulder blades from different angles. She was deceptively powerful and stretched me out in different positions and handled me like a rag doll with no problems. Felt like jello in the end. I've had plenty of massages and this experience was average at best. They rubbed extremely hard in places that shouldn't have been rubbed hard (I.e. Bones) and not hard enough in places that should have been harder. Masseuses should understand that different parts of the body are more or less sensitive than others. No action on the legs. And it's not cheap - I could go to palisades park and get a better, longer massage for less money. read more

I was a loyal customer at qitopia for years , first at their Paramus location, then willowbrook . I switched from Paramus to willowbrook because of the hassle I had with my appointments always being messed up or issues with the front desk not doing their job properly when booking & poor attitudes . I started going to willowbrook once I found out about that location and absolutely loved it and was there 1-3 times a week. For the last 3 years I'd say I was one of their best customers, I've referred friends , family , co-workers , even my doctor to Qitopia! Every year I spent hundreds of dollars on gift cards there for holidays for my staff . Lately , this place has gone from 5 stars to 0!!! . For the last few months I've dealt with my apts being messed up , the phone there doesn't get answered when I try to call and make an apt .a therapist answers that doesn't understand me , I can leave a message and not get a call back . It's absolutely ridiculous! The new desk girls look miserable and don't do the job properly! I'm not sure what happened here but this place used to be excellent ! I would call and the front desk girls knew my voice & what I wanted that's how frequently I made appointments . I'm a salon/spa owner myself so I know how important the front desk job is , it can totally ruin a business! That's exactly what is happening here which is so upsetting for me cause I loved & adored my therapists Donna & May . First off , I want to start off by saying I WAS a regular customer at Qitopia in willowbrook mall for almost a year , as well as my husband and in laws . I would frequent this place by myself for a quick massage or with my husband for the couples massage . We came here very often to relax since our work schedules are hectic since we both work in hospitals. This is the first and only review I've done on yelp. I usually do not have time for this , but in this situation I'm making time. I went to Qitopia this past weekend alone cause I needed to relax and my legs were killing me . I asked the woman at the desk if I can have the masseuse concentrate on my legs more than my back area. I was told that wouldn't be a problem. I was taken in for my massage fairly quick and the massage started off great . About 20 min into my massage I asked if she could move onto my legs cause that's what I did ask for & the masseuse was told this . She said not yet and proceeded to do my lower back and the backs of my calves . Before I knew it the timer had gone off and my hour was up and I didn't get my legs massaged as I had asked . I was extremly unhappy at this point and asked why they weren't done and I was told by the masseuse "no more time." Now I get dressed and go to the front desk and tell the woman that I'm very unhappy and she never did my legs like I requested . She apologizes and says sorry and thinks that maybe my masseuse did not understand what we meant . Which I believe she totally understood what I said and what the lady at the desk said , she repeated it to my masseuse multiple times !!!!! Now I feel like I should not even be charged the full price for this massage or anything at all for that matter because I DID NOT get what I asked for !!! I asked for a manager and the lady at the desk calls another location for the manager . To make a long story short , this manager wasn't helpful or I just don't think he really cared at all to be honest ! He just wanted me to pay for my massage anyway and pay the FULL PRICE !!! I couldn't believe it . After going back and forth and explaining over and over what happened . I just paid the full one hour price for a massage that I didn't even enjoy ! Then this manager goes on to tell me he will give me a gift card for a 15 minute chair massage !!! WOW! Just wow . This is what you give to a customer that has spent thousands of dollars at your business ??? Totally disappointed in how I was treated . Not to mention the "manager" and my masseuse who was already massaging next customer in a chair , went on to speak Chinese and went back and forth bickering at each other in front of me and made faces .
