Washer Repair. CASH OR CHECK ONLY. Desperate as usual when a major appliance, my washer, malfunctioning! My usual repair person was not picking up phone calls or emails. Others also non-responsive. So was not expecting much when I left a message especially since it had a not available greeting. Left a message anyway and, holy moly, Greg from Quality Appliance Repair Service (QARS) called me back within minutes!!!!!! Greg Barca explained his current limitations but offered to come by to look at my washer. A metal wire circle had popped out and it wouldn't let me close the door for any loads. Greg arrived within 15 minutes and was nice, personable and chock full of information that was very useful. He looked at the wire circle and popped it back into place. Checked out the machine by running a quick short load. Also looked at my dryer because of concern for a clogged dryer vent. He popped out the bottom panel and looked it over, as well as checking the flow of the outside dryer vent. Looked good! I was grateful and appreciative that QARS was able to come out immediately and address my washer repair need. Greg knows what he's doing and explains as he goes. I do believe he delivered value for the job under the circumstances but most would argue I could have done it myself. I am far from a DIYer. If I thought I could have done it myself I would not have have felt the need to call. Hence I am happy with QARS! Only caveat is QARS accepts Cash or Check only. This was one of the few times that I had cash on hand so, thank goodness, it all worked out! I would not hesitate to call QARS for future repairs but will make sure to have cash or check on hand. read more

I called Greg and he listened to my problem and walked me through options even though he's recovering from surgery. He offered to come out to help but first had me check a couple of things. I bought my Bosch 800 series dishwasher 11 months ago at Airport Appliance. I received a Watertap E24 error (look it up on YouTube). They connected me with Bosch support (800) 944-2904 - and they recommend a handful of people since they weren't able to send a tech for about a month. I looked at the reviews based on their recommendation, and only 1 had Five stars and he was also booked. Otto did mention to avoid anyone who said the pump needed a replacement. It is a common error due to debris. I called Greg here since he was close to my city and he returned my call within an hour. He asked me for the specific model number (on the side of the dishwasher door) and walked me through some tips (drain the water, look under the metal filter, remove the cap and check the intake) - but what I believe fixed it was his tip to check the air gap near the sink (remove the cap and take a straw cleaner and stick it down the opening) - about 6 inches in water and some debris came out! He was patient on the phone and said if his tips don't work out, he can come out. I ran the dishwasher and no more errors! He saved me over $200 in an install and replacement for a pump. I had a dishwasher that was not draining even after I checked the filters/drain hose for clogs. I called Greg about repair, and before he would come out he asked me to first check for a common reason for blockage which I was not aware of, and he gave me detailed instructions. Back in 2015 we called Greg to fix our very old Kenmore washer. Once the repair was done Greg told us it will work for another 6-8 years. In 2018 we purchased made in the USA Whirlpool duet and now the washer is giving E01 F03 error codes. We immediately called Greg (after 5p) for help. I had a washer that randomly left the clothes wet and not spin dry. Greg needed more info before he could come out and being that this washer was being used by tenants, I don't see the issue first hand and very difficult to get tenants to cooperate and give me accurate information. He help me troubleshoot the problem on and off for 2 weeks and eliminated a lots of possible problems causing the wet clothes until we finally concluded what the machine was really doing. He then referred me to another repairman that would be able to fix it. I offered to pay him for a house call even though he never came to the building and he turned it down. I just finished troubleshooting and repairing my malfunctioning Bosch dishwasher on my own. I was able to do this because 2 years ago, Greg Barca of Quality Appliance Repair patiently, encouragingly taught me how to do everything I did today. Greg has repaired our Whirlpool duet washing machine, including having us order an extra door handle for when the poorly designed plastic handle would break and showing us ahead of time how to install it, saving us a formal service call. He has replaced the broiler igniter on our stove, showed me how to replace the igniter for the main oven and finally, wisely counseled us to replace the stove when it was time. The range gas valves and igniter controller for the cooktop were no longer working and repair would approach 1/2 the cost of a new stove, with lingering safety concerns about the gas valves. He is good. He is honest. He is interested in teaching you how to not need him again. (Why, I am not sure... I think because he is mostly retired and does this now chiefly for the satisfaction that fixing things and helping people brings to him.) I cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

Greg is a great guy, like everyone else is mentioning. He's very patient and is pretty knowledgeable about fixing dryers. When he talked to me on the phone, he quickly tried to narrow down the issue with my LG dryer and ordered the parts that he thinks would help fix the problem (the ignitor). When he arrived, he was friendly and would talk to you as he worked through the problem. In the end, he had to really go through the steps of fixing the LG - apparently it's one of the difficult dryers that's made and he had to really break it apart before he found the area where the ignitor is located. Along the way, he noted what else needed fixing. He also helped clean out the lint inside the machine and also in the exhaust pipe. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. read more

A few months ago, I called Greg at Quality Appliance Repair to repair my dryer, which had a short circuit where it connected to the wire plug. Greg came out the next day to check it out. He immediately identified a faulty connector on the rear of my dryer and stated he could fix it right there by bypassing the faulty part while still keeping the connection safe. I agreed and he went to work. After about 45 minutes, Greg had fixed my dryer, cleaned the entire unit of lint and had reassembled it. He was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable.
