I was impressed that he's been a business owner for 17 years. I like dealing with small businesses. The repairs took longer than the one-month that State Farm authorized for the rental car. I called to ask him why it was taking so long and was told that he had been waiting for SF to pay him for a part that costs $190. He never communicated that to me. When I found out, I told him to repair the car and I would guarantee the pmt of the $190. I pd my $1k deductible and the cost of the part under the condition he'd reimburse me when SF paid him. I was told by SF he'd already been paid and had already cashed their check. That was Oct. 6. Today is 12/18 and I still haven't been reimbursed. Citi has no record of the reimbursement yet he showed me a transaction slip which appeared to be a refund. He did not get serious about the refund until I told him I was going to dispute the charge. If given an opportunity to go back in time, I'd not do any business with this shop. He does not make any effort to remedy the problem until I state I'm going to dispute the charge. It's very disappointing to say the least. UPDATE: I received my refund this morning. I notified Manuel Chacon. He asked me to update this review.

I went to their competitor (Bandera Paint & Body), who didn't seem interested in my business, and the receptionist treated me poorly. Not Manetta and Frank. Very polite, very courteous. Got a complete teardown on my vehicles, everything was repaired as promised, and the quality of work is second to none. Brought one vehicle to them for being hit BY a deer, and 3 days later, I was the one who hit a deer, so now they're working on my other vehicle. Should I have any body shop needs in the future, I would only consider Bandera Auto Solutions.

I wish I could give this place zero stars…read more I took my vehicle to Brake Check to have the brakes replaced. After they completed the work, they left the vehicle in brake maintenance/service mode, which meant I did not have normal braking operation. When I contacted them about it, their solution was essentially to take it to Ford. I took their advice and contacted Ford. Ford specifically told me not to drive the vehicle in that condition because it was not operating normally. That put me in an incredibly difficult position because, like most working-class people, I don't have another vehicle sitting around that I can just use. At that point, I decided to take it to a Ford dealership to have the problem they created properly diagnosed and repaired. While I was actually driving to Ford, Brake Check called me and told me they couldn't get my vehicle in until Monday morning. Then came the part that really frustrated me: they insisted they had done nothing wrong because, in their words, "technically they changed the brakes." That's not customer service. That's refusing to take responsibility for a problem that occurred immediately after their work. The service was awful, the attitude was even worse, and I felt like they simply didn't care that their mistake left me without a properly functioning vehicle. If you are trusting a shop with something as important as your brakes, you should be able to expect the job to be completed correctly and safely--not be told to take the vehicle somewhere else when their work leaves it in an unsafe condition. This place needs new management and a serious change in how they treat customers. I would strongly recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else. I will be warning as many people as possible about my experience so they can avoid going through the same thing. Absolutely the worst automotive service experience I've had.

Let me tell you about my last trip to Lester's Automotive Repair, where they might as well have a…read moreneon sign that reads, "Why yes, we really are that good!" The last time I walked into a place that felt as comfy as their waiting room, I was at my grandma's house, and she was trying to feed me 'home-cooked' chicken casserole (which, by the way, looked suspiciously like it came out of a can but was delicious nonetheless). But back to Lester's: the waiting room! It's practically a mini-spa. Those Padded chairs while very worn are so cozy, I half-expected a massage therapist to pop out and rub my shoulders while I sipped on their free coffee. I was so relaxed, I almost forgot I'd come in to get an alignment with an appointment I just made minutes before I arrived. Now let's talk about the experts at Lester's. These honest mechanics are like the Gandalf of auto repair: They don't just wave their wrenches around and mumble spells; they actually *listen*., devise a good plan and then execute your decisions about how and what you want done do your vehicle. I firmly believe that if anyone rolled in with a "check engine" light, instead of trying to convince a customer to replace their entire engine (which, you know, might as well have been made of gold), they would be honest enough to explain that it was just a loose gas cap. Also, scheduling an appointment? Easy-peasy. The last time I had such a smooth experience was when I hydroplaned my car on black ice going 45 down a hill in a snow covered icy countryside's back road. But I digress. They get you in and out faster than teenagers clear a plate full of pizza. And not once did I feel like they were trying to pull a fast one on me with pricing. I was standing dumbfounded saying, "Is that all? Are you sure you don't want me to pay extra for that whole honesty thing because the guy up the street wanted almost double and you are also charging me what you quoted me at the start? Are you sure that is the price?" In short, if you want your car fixed without being bamboozled, and would like a waiting room where you can consider napping instead of scrolling through sad social media posts, head on over to Lester's Automotive Repair. Just remember, unlike my old jokes, this place *really* delivers! P.S. Why did the mechanic sleep under the car? Because he wanted to get up oily in the morning! I just have to share yet another fabulous experience with Main Street automotive in Bandera Texas…read more I'll be honest... my trust in automotive shops was 0.0%, maybe even into the negative numbers. Definitely negative experiences. As a short background, I had a Nissan Xterra that sat for nearly 2 years of my driveway, because no one in Bandera could seem to pinpoint what issues were. I even had one shop tell me to "drive it until the wheels fell off", completely, disregarding the fact that this is my only transportation and my safety, and sometimes life, depend upon it. When I totaled my Ranger, I had been so impressed with the work that Main Street had done on it, that I took a huge leap of faith and put the total money into repairing all the mystery ailments of the Xterra. As a surprise for me, the mystery ailments weren't at all a surprise to Main Street and they fixed it beautifully. I always get my oil changed there as they do a bumper-to-bumper review of everything and I'm telling you these people do not tell you you need something that you don't. They will tell you if they see something that you can expect might need attention so you're not blindsided, unlike the other auto shop. They care about my safety. They did me so right on my Xterra when I was just in the worst spot ever. If you want an auto shop that you can honestly trust, I can't recommend them enough. If you live in Bandera, they are on 16 like you're heading to Medina on your left across from K and M auto. They are open on weekdays. They have quite a number of bays so if you make an oil change appointment with you they get you done quick. My Xterra has 222,000 miles on it. It's running better today than when I bought it at 170,000 miles. Thank you, Main Street!!

Sean said he could rewrite invoice or take the overcharge off of future purchases. Being a stupid nice guy, I, agreed to future purchases option When I went in to get just an oil change I was expecting a credit showing balance due to me going forward. Instead of this Mike hit me with an invoice saying I owed him money instead. I tried to get him to explain how I owed him anything and he consulted Sean in the back room like a car salesman and came back to me gruffly inferring that here's the invoice and we'll call it even and now go away. I've been a good customer for 5 years and I can't understand why they were so desperate for my bucks that they would treat me like this .
