Let me tell you about my last trip to Lester's Automotive Repair, where they might as well have a…read moreneon sign that reads, "Why yes, we really are that good!" The last time I walked into a place that felt as comfy as their waiting room, I was at my grandma's house, and she was trying to feed me 'home-cooked' chicken casserole (which, by the way, looked suspiciously like it came out of a can but was delicious nonetheless). But back to Lester's: the waiting room! It's practically a mini-spa. Those Padded chairs while very worn are so cozy, I half-expected a massage therapist to pop out and rub my shoulders while I sipped on their free coffee. I was so relaxed, I almost forgot I'd come in to get an alignment with an appointment I just made minutes before I arrived. Now let's talk about the experts at Lester's. These honest mechanics are like the Gandalf of auto repair: They don't just wave their wrenches around and mumble spells; they actually *listen*., devise a good plan and then execute your decisions about how and what you want done do your vehicle. I firmly believe that if anyone rolled in with a "check engine" light, instead of trying to convince a customer to replace their entire engine (which, you know, might as well have been made of gold), they would be honest enough to explain that it was just a loose gas cap. Also, scheduling an appointment? Easy-peasy. The last time I had such a smooth experience was when I hydroplaned my car on black ice going 45 down a hill in a snow covered icy countryside's back road. But I digress. They get you in and out faster than teenagers clear a plate full of pizza. And not once did I feel like they were trying to pull a fast one on me with pricing. I was standing dumbfounded saying, "Is that all? Are you sure you don't want me to pay extra for that whole honesty thing because the guy up the street wanted almost double and you are also charging me what you quoted me at the start? Are you sure that is the price?" In short, if you want your car fixed without being bamboozled, and would like a waiting room where you can consider napping instead of scrolling through sad social media posts, head on over to Lester's Automotive Repair. Just remember, unlike my old jokes, this place *really* delivers! P.S. Why did the mechanic sleep under the car? Because he wanted to get up oily in the morning! It was quick and easy, and the shop gives a 25% discount for veterans! I would highly recommend this shop and service to anyone in Kerrville who would like work done. They also perform brake work, and fluid flushes. For routine maintenance required, they also give coupons. I can't commend enough how easy and good of a service I received here, thank you Derek and grease monkey for the good work! I will return.

Outstanding local business!!…read more I had a heck of an afternoon yesterday. Loaded up my old BBQ pit trailer to go cook for 140 National Guardsmen down in Hondo. Had a tire blowout on 46, coming into Bandera. Called my buddy with Lone Star Auto and Diesel, who suggested I call Tripp's. Talked to Cody on the phone. He bent over backwards to help me. He stayed open late, let me bring the tire and rim in, set me up with a brand new tire, and got me back on the road. The price was MORE than fair, too. Cody and the team at Tripp's are the real deal. We worked with Julianne. She was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. We were not pressured in anyway, No BS nonsense games played, and felt no pressure during experience what so ever. Finance manager was friendly, thorough and transparent. We were in and out fairly quickly, carfax provided, car was washed, full tank of gas and had plates out the door. My 4 year old was with us and they provided snacks, toys and kept her busy. The women's restroom was extremely clean bathroom. Loved our experience, pleasure working with everyone and highly recommend.

I explained my predicament and while he was sympathetic to my needs, he did say that his shop was quite busy. Then he said, bring it in and we'll do our best to look at it. I arrived about 3:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. Cody greeted me and asked me to sit tight. Within 10 minutes, he was reading codes. I met with Cody and Service Technician Brian. They listened to my complaint and my thoughts and Brian said if there's an issue in the system, they'll find it and we'll go from there. After relaxing in the customer waiting area of the showroom, Brian came by to tell me it was fixed! I felt the work was rushed, my concerns were dismissed, and the customer service was rude and unprofessional. As a long-time customer, I expected better communication and to feel like my concerns mattered. Instead, I left feeling unheard and undervalued. Trust is one of the most important qualities in an auto repair shop, and unfortunately, I no longer have that trust. After more than five years of loyalty, it's disappointing that things ended this way.
