Updated Review: See bottom: I used Collision San Antonio to repair my Mazda after a fender bender. Initially, he was very professional. I was impressed that he's been a business owner for 17 years. I like dealing with small businesses. The repairs took longer than the one-month that State Farm authorized for the rental car. I called to ask him why it was taking so long and was told that he had been waiting for SF to pay him for a part that costs $190. He never communicated that to me. When I found out, I told him to repair the car and I would guarantee the pmt of the $190. I pd my $1k deductible and the cost of the part under the condition he'd reimburse me when SF paid him. I was told by SF he'd already been paid and had already cashed their check. That was Oct. 6. Today is 12/18 and I still haven't been reimbursed. Citi has no record of the reimbursement yet he showed me a transaction slip which appeared to be a refund. He did not get serious about the refund until I told him I was going to dispute the charge. If given an opportunity to go back in time, I'd not do any business with this shop. He does not make any effort to remedy the problem until I state I'm going to dispute the charge. Upon entering the building I met Manuel and couldn't be Happier with his professionalism, his listening skills and the Quality Assessment of the damages. I took my cars to Collision San Antonio auto body. I was referred to by someone I know. Manuel very professional and very and responsive. My car were crushed by some trees. He did take care of the and even helps us with some perks. But, the workman's ship is lacking. I know he would fix the issues and make it right. He's just that kind of professional. But I don't want to wait for my cars any longer than necessary. They were shipped for 4 months bc of parts not being shipped. Ridiculous. Anyway here are some pics. On April 11, 2025 we took my RAV4 to Collision San Antonio for repairs do to an car accident I was involved with the day before. The person whom received my RAV4 said it would take approximately a week or two to fix. Which seemed like a normal time frame for the damage done. My husband would call Manuel at lease twice a week, after the two weeks were up. Each time he called to get a status report, Manuel the owner would tell him he needed a couple more days. This when on until June 6, 2025. We had to tell him that we could longer accept anymore of his bs and he had better have the vechile ready for us to pickup by June 6, 2025. He was given a weeks notice and still did not complete repairs insurance had paid for by the time we picked up my car. We also told him we had enough with the delay tatics and excues he gave us for taking eight weeks, two months of my time without use of my vechile. San Antonio is a large city, but public transportation is subpar here. Many aeras of San Antonio does not have bus services with easy access. Therefore the added stress this issue cause me is not something that can be put into a dollar amount. I refused to deal with any more excuses or delays regarding my RAV4. When we picked up my vehicle, Manuel told us to call him next to schedule a time for him to put the bumper on properly and the hood bra,( paint work) that had not been done when we got the vechile back. My husband attempted many times to call Manuel ti schedule the final repairs. Manuel usual anwser was he didn't have time this week, or he wouldn't answer the phone. So we took my RAV4 to different shop and intended to pay for the final two repairs out of pocket. Collision San Antonio had not been very cooperative with scheduling the last two repairs that we were aware of. Although the repairs had been paid for by our auto insurance company. Abd we had paid Manuel $500.00 out of pocket for the deductible. Collision San Antonio received a total of about $9,000.00 from Allstate for work supposedly done to my vehicle. Last week we took my vehicle to a different shop and it was discovered that Manuel the owner or supposed owner of Collision San Antonio had not done most of the repairs they had billed for and received payment from the insurance carrier. Manuel and Collision San Antonio lied to the insurance company and ti us regarding the work he claims to have done. He intentionally chose to commit fraud by doing this. The shop I am using now informed us of the negligence and fraudulent charges. The shop is working with my insurance company to get my car back to pre-accident condition. Pre-accident condition of my 2020 RAV4 was excellent. No defects of any kind could be found before my accident. This Collision San Antonio and Manuel the owner in my opinion never intended to repair my vehicle to best of his abilities. His intent was to lie to both Allstate and my husband and me. He took monies he was not entitled to from the insurance company and frim my husband and I. I believe he is a criminal who has gotten away with committing insurance fraud for a long time now and is very comfortable in doing so. He is not a professional auto body repair person. Hopefully he is charged for his crimal behavior and is not allow to mess up anyone elses' vehicle like he messed up mine. Please do not do business with Collision San Antonio ever. We learned a very expensive lession here. I hope by sharing this with others prevents what happen to us from happening to anyone else. And if I am wrong,hopefully Manuel will contact my husband and the insurance company to reimburse both parties for the monies he stole. read more

I took in my car that I just bought from them for service and it turns out that know it needs $4000 of repairs on my vehicle! When I spoke to Manuel he assured me that this vehicle was in mint condition and that my Daughter would not have any issues with it at all. He even told me if any problems arise with the vehicle that he would help me no matter the situation. He has yet to help me with this horrible mechanical issue that my vehicle is experiencing and instead sticking me with this $4000.00 repair bill! Stay away at all costs! I had to get my vehicle repaired after an accident. Manuel was extremely easy to deal with, and despite delays in repair due to a slowdown in the parts chain because of Covid-19, my car was restored perfectly. He used all authentic parts from Jeep, and not run-of-the-mill OEM parts from a third party. Manuel is also a genuinely nice person who is honest and has integrity. I took my car to this place . I had a horrible experience with this place. The owner Manuel Chacon is the worst human being, lier and extremely unpredictable. He Initially approached nice . He took my car and was going to remove the bumper and fender then call insurance. he did not do it until two days after that I called and he said that he does not need to remove the bumper and fender . He changed his word and he told me that he knows his job he does not need me to follow up on the process. Then after a week he sent a supplement bill to insurance. Waited for another week without any follow up with insurance . I had to call my insurance to expedite the process. Then he told me that the car will be ready the week after on Wednesday . I called Wednesday he said the car will not be ready untill the next day . After discussing with him that my car rental limit will be over by the end of the day. He said that the car is ready but the paint is not dried . Then he mentioned that he has not received check from insurance and he is not going to release the car until the insurance pays him . I spoke to my insurance and the agent called him and sent the check picture through email but he told insurance that he will not accept it . I talked to him again and I told him I will pay out of my pocket since I need the car . He accepted and he said come tomorrow and pick up your car. The next I went to the body shop he said that the bumper molding was ordered wrong and he could not install it . I paid the balance except for the molding part. And got my car . I noticed that there is about 400 additional miles on my odometer, I think he put 400 miles on my car , and emptied the gas completely. The next day my wife with my kids went to the shop as he said to get the molding installed . He was not at the shop . His worker call to get the approval to install the molding he said no. He talked to my wife over the phone and he said come back at 1 pm since he was not in the shop. My wife argued with him that it is difficult to come back again with kids in the afternoon. Then he said that he does not have the molding . But his worker said that the molding was in the shop already . Then he changed his mind and told my wife that he wants to charge me before installation of the molding then he hung up on my wife . His worker was very nice and he installed the molding on my car . Then he called the owner Mauel Chacon . He got very angry he talked to my wife and he said the she need to pay by credit card and asked for her credit card number over the phone. my wife said no, and she said that I would not give you my credit card number over the phone and he needs to use the machine . He then said that his worker does not know how to use the machine . Manuel had no choice and his worker charged my wife' s credit card. . Our first experience with this business was okya, just. Good quality work, fair price, but scheduling was a real problem. It took forever to get the work scheduled, then completed. We chalked that up to a fluke. When it came to scheduling work on our second car, in end, it never even happened. The quote was way high (over $1000 for a few small dings), and when it came to scheduling the work, getting a firm commitment on when it would happen was like nailing jello to a wall. There were many excuses - workers driving in from San Marcos, last-minute cancellations, etc. In the end, we figured those were messages to not work so hard to get THIS vendor to do THAT work. We felt this man had real problems with time commitment and/or time management. If you chose his company, be prepared for extensive delays in the scheduling of the estimate, the work itself, then the follow-up, as the work on our first car was not completed on one or even two visits. read more

I saw the review and worried that it might be true. I went to the office and spoke with the owner. I left feeling confident in his opinion and ability. Time past so I was surprised when he did not raise the estimate when I came back months later. I scheduled the job but I was delayed again and once again he was very nice to reschedule. I had my car repaired and the estimate was right on. I then took my wife' Porsche in and although she is a perfectionist, she was very happy with the work. Then I took my daughter's car in for a minor repair that took only a 1/2 day. We are all very happy with the work and I would give 5 stars three times if they would let me! read more

I do not recommend the service received at this shop because of Mr Manuel Chacon. He gave us an estimate which we submitted to insurance and then the insurance ended up totaling our pickup. It was a 2006 GMC Sierra 3500 work truck. After speaking with Mr Chacon, he stated he would with us and would be able to do the repairs for the amount that we would get from the insurance if we decided to keep it. So we agreed with his estimate of $3,600 which included all repairs. Each time we called him he kept changing the estimate until it finally reach $5,000. We had 4 different estimates and the lowest of $3000 plus which was the one that included all repairs is the one we agreed on. All the other higher estimates were to do just the damaged left side, or he stated he forgot to include the door panel and other things. We ended up taking our vehicle to another shop and he did the work for the same estimate amount of $3000. read more

I was very disappointed with the services offered in this place. I had some work done on my car...which turned out ok. But with two years it was a disaster...the paint started to peel off my car...I returned to business owner because the owner said It was warranty for life. But instead tried to blame me for the bad paint job he did. He said silly things like I picked up something on the roadway or spilled something on my car...what a joke. I took my car to 3 other very reputable business who said it was a very poor job done with very cheap paint. I do not recommend this place unless you ask for a warranty in writing. read more

We picked this shop to repair our truck, after the hail storm in April. They advertised the quickness and quality of their service, which were both inaccurate. On August 20th we dropped off the vehicle, and the owner assured us that it would be ready by September 10th. After several excuses for delaying the project, we got our truck back on September 20th...a full month after dropping it off! Manuel did take care of the deductible and gave a $250 credit towards a rental, which sounded like an exceptional deal/favor. The best favor he could have done is never touch the truck. The repairs are shoddy. Dents are still evident, the paint is scratched, the interior is now stained, and he didn't complete putting on stripping. "Oh I must have missed that" and "bring it back to get it finished" were his only answers. BRING IT BACK?! After a month and poor quality, no thanks. Our neighbors wanted to take their vehicles for repair here, but we have cautioned them to take their business elsewhere. You know the only thing that Manuel did in a timely fashion? Cash our check.
