I cannot even recommend this business to my worst enemy.

The owner came out, inspected the area to be done and gave us a great price. His men showed up when he said they would. They removed everything. Cleaned the entire area and were very courteous. Air test went off without a hitch. Mr. Homsey followed up afterwards each time to make sure we were satisfied with the job and thanked us for doing business with him. I highly recommend this company and do so to anyone that asks us for an asbestos removal company. Professional and gets the job done speedily and effectively. What more can you ask for.

When I did initally speak with him, he stated that "mistakes are made, but you paid to have a good job done, and thats what we did". I said No, I paid to have you remove all the contracted asbestos. I recommend that if you want the job done, contact someone else. The owner was quite willing to express a dangerous work ethic over the phone when I spoke with him later on. Here are further details about my experience with them, including the boss' sketchy advice: First, I had asked them to come back and check on a part that I wasn t confident about because it looked like the joints of the pipes had asbestos on it still. The man I spoke to (owner? Sam) said that he would come and check things the next day. He spoke about how concerned with customer relations he was and wanted to make sure things were fine. The manager did not come as he said he would, but instead sent two employees who had no idea why they were coming and who I could hardly speak with because of language barriers. They insist that what I was concerned about was just dust They proceeded to pick up a baby rag that was in my laundry heap to clean the part of the pipe I was inquiring about, all while I was standing there with my infant, and then they strongly emphasized how I should throw this rag away. A second air test was not conducted as I had requested. I wish I had insisted because the asbestos that they didn t remove would have been dry at this point, whereas it was likely wet during the first air test. It was too exhausting to try to explain to the employees why they were there to begin with, and I was confused at why the owner/manager didn t come as he said he was. Not to mention my confusion about how they had used my laundry to clean the pipe, and how they so emphatically insist I throw the baby blanket away. My husband and his friend removed a pipe in our basement and discovered that ABest had NOT REMOVED ALL THE ASBESTOS, but had left two 6 inch sections. These had obviously been worked on but not all the asbestos was taken off. They had removed the front area of asbestos, but not off the back part of the pipe, which would have been more difficult. Difficult or not, they didn t remove it. As a result, my husband and our friend had stood directly under the asbestos that we had paid to remove, and they sawed and hammered on the pipe, getting asbestos dust all over their face and clothing before realizing what had happened. The wrapping around the asbestos had been removed, the amount of asbestos on the pipe uneven (this was very different than the condition of the asbestos prior to their work) - obviously someone had worked on it some and just not finished. Also its significant to know that they ran the test while the asbestos still would have been wet. Upon talking to ABest, the owner became really angry and yelled at for 13 minutes, admitted that they made a mistake, and that mistakes are made but that they had done a good job . He told me that nothing would come of it if I contacted the EPA and that he "knew every individual who worked in the EPA with asbestos, so go ahead on contact them because I know every single one of them ." Also indicating their ethic -- while yelling at me, he told me that WE would get in trouble with the EPA for having moved the pipe (which is why he suggest I don't report him to the EPA) - yet he said I should move it back into the basement otherwise we might have to remediate the soil! Apparently he is more concerned with covering tracks than that the soil might legitimately now need remediation, even if it is lousy that we d have to pay for it. He laughed at me and acted very much like we did something wrong for having the asbestos there, he assured me that nothing would come of this, that mistakes are made and hurled many insults at me. As a result of their carelessness, my husband, friend, and children all were doing things they should not have done with asbestos around, He did offer to come and take the pipes away, but that doesn't change the exposure that has taken place. I would STRONGLY recommend AGAINST using ABest. Get your asbestos taken care of by someone who will take care of it.

For starters they are NOT LICENSED so you will come across issues when trying to pull permits. This is how l found out they were not licensed because a stop work order was placed on my house by my city building inspector. They started doing work on my house without pulling permits. So I had to get the permits in my name for the job to be done. And they had to start from the beginning because it was never inspected. They gave my insurance company a fake license number .. They did not even try to protect my belongings in my home .. see the photos attached. My brand new couch and recliner that I just bought completely covered in debris and they just threw everything on top. I literally walked in one day to them cutting wood on my couch and my kitchen table stool... these people do not give a f*ck about your property. They got 80k from my insurance company and got me the absolute cheapest replacements for my kitchen and bathroom which were the two rooms that needed to be renovated. I have had to have them come back to fix things but everytime they come "fix" whatever needs to be fixed, a few days later I'm having the same problem. Ori who is the owner and goes by Aaron made me get my bathroom floor abatement done which both the insurance adjuster and another contractor I had come by to look at the work both agreed it did not need to be done. But he will literally not do the work if you don't get the abatement done. Joe my bathroom floor is about 1 1/2 inch thicker than it was before so now my radiator is too high up and it can't be attached to the pipe for heat. When I mentioned this to Aaron he ignored it. When his employee mentioned it to him he said there's nothing he can do about it ... LOL. So now I don't have heat in my bathroom and also don't have heat in my kitchen. My house looks like absolute shit and everything I had originally picked out as replacements Aaron came back and said there wasn't enough money to get those items hit they didn't even spend 10k on replacement kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanity, appliances and flooring. And of course he said this after my insurance company had already paid him for the work. Long story short. Do not hire these people unless you want to have to redo the job after they are done because they cut every corner they possibly can. They are very unprofessional and do trash work. Go with someone else who has a good reputation and is well known for their work these guys are crooks. They left my walls with white patches of mud. I now have to finish that as well.

ServiceMaster report…read more Reposting as the company asked me to take the review down in good faith while "looking into the claim". I had a water leak that ended up dropping some ceiling on the first floor so I submitted a claim to Travelers and upon speaking with my agent they advised they use and dispatch ServiceMaster for their restoration and water damage services. I spoke with a representative whom got people scheduled quickly, however after the first field visit it all went downhill. We had trouble getting a hold of the service technicians in the field who were supposed to be there to check on the equipment and status of water damage. After not hearing from the technicians and having to reach out to contacts directly rather than the office schedule their employees and hold the responsible we uncovered that one of the dehumidifiers had the hose disconnected and was leaking water all through the floor on the first half bath. This water penetrated the tile floor, cement board underlayment, and subfloor; dripping and leaking into the basement below. No technicians on site, I had to turn the machine off myself to make sure no further damage was done. The come and replace the equipment the next day, and then it runs for about 5 days straight tripling my electric bill. After it tested at an adequate moisture level the machines were removed. Now I'm left with further damage to my condo AFTER ServiceMaster was dispatched by my insurance company. And nobody wants to be responsible for damages. The fact of the matter is these damages would not have happened if ServiceMaster did not come into my home. I would use someone else or think twice about using ServiceMaster so you don't have the same headache as me. Original claim 6/23/25. Still not back into my place. BEWARE.

It's also really important work, which adds complexity to most people's already super stressful situation (think flooding, fires, lead etc). I ended up using the services of Service Master Restoration by Wills after meeting with Rory Bedell, the Senior Operations Manager. By that point I had met with a few companies; but Rory stood out as he was extremely knowledgeable and patient while answering my questions. He not only gave me the sense that he was able to do the work, but that he also cared about the work being done correctly. In addition, Rory also helped me navigate the insurance claim (which in CT is no easy task). Once the work began, I was impressed with how professionally the team worked the job. Bill, the onsite Supervisor, was very experienced and led the team who did the work. Bill and the team worked hard to ensure all the tasks were completed. If any questions or issues came up, Rory was available to be contacted and very responsive to address them. I was communicated to and updated when needed, so I felt like I always knew what was going on. At the conclusion, the work was completed within the estimated time frame given, and I was happy that I went with the Service Master by Wills team. If you are in need of a Restoration Service company, I would recommend that you contact them! Hopefully, this will help someone else out there who isn't sure who to go to, as I was in the same situation.
