    I had good luck with these folks. Given the wood shortage, I felt I paid a fair price for my cedar fence. The business owner communicated everything and the job was completed in a timely manner. No surprises. Very happy with my new fence!

    70 days after installation, fence fell apart (1)

    LOWE'S SALES & INSTALLATION FENCE CONTRACT # 0753919 (8 Dec 2017) Sales and installation sales contract between Lowe's salesman at Lowe's store No. 0634, 350 N. Gates Dr., Bloomington, IN 47404 Contract number 0753919, dated 8 December 2017. Contract was to purchase back yard fence and patio fence and Lowe's could install fence on homeowner's property. Cost of fence and installation was to be $8,753.85. (1) Owner was told that delivery of materials would be about 2 weeks. (2) 11 Jan 2018: Owner was called and told that installation would start on 16 January 2018 due to the weather and all materials have not arrived as of yet. Owner was told that all materials are expected to arrive 15 Jan 2018. (3) Three people would usually show up to work on the fence. They would usually arrive after 10AM, one person would usually work to install the fence while 2 men would stay in the truck with the motor running. They would usually be on my property about 90 minutes and depart for about an hour and then return. They would usually stay about an hour and leave without notice. I would get mad because they would not complete the project and just disappear. It got so mad that I called Lowe's in Bloomington to complain and was told to call a man named "Dexter" at Lowe's in Indianapolis (317-675-4580) and complain to him. I called Dexter many times complaining to have my fences installed. To me, the installers worked like the 3 stooges and would not complete the installation of the fences in a timely manner. (4) The fences were finally installed on 31 March 2018 and the installation was sloppy and looked unprofessional. There were gaps in the vinyl planks that had to be fixed and the gates were installed incorrect and had to be reinstalled to open in the correct direction. (The gates are still too high as one of my pets crawled under and is lost.) (5) 3 June 2018: The yard fence was installed so poorly that it started to come apart. I went to the Bloomington Lowe's and asked for a supervisor and talked to Justin and showed him pictures of my fence coming apart. He told me that I would be contacted within 2 days from Lowe's in Indianapolis to repair my fence problem. No one from Lowe's contacted me. I also contacted my fence salesman and he told me to contact Lowe's in Indianapolis at 877-505-4923. (6) 4 June 2018: I called Customer Service and spoke to "Damon?" and told him that the fence that was installed on my property on 31 March 2018 is falling apart. He told me that the installers would be contacting me in a couple days to repair the fence. No one contacted me to fix/repair the fence since I spoke to Damon?. (7) 10 June 2018 at 4:15PM: Today it rained and approximately 7 feet of my fence that I reported to "Damon?" blew apart and went into the neighbor's yard. I tried to call Customer Service (877-505-4923) to tell them that my new fence of less than 70 days is falling apart with a gaping 7 foot hole in my fence, but they were closed. (8) 11 June 2018 at 0740AM: called Lowe's at 877-505-4923 and spoke to a lady named "Latacia?" and I told her that I wanted to talk to a supervisor or manager because on June 4th, I called Customer Service and spoke to "Damon" telling him that my fence is coming apart and yesterday a 7 foot section blew down in pieces and went into the neighbor's yard. She told me that no supervisors are available and she said that she would call the installers to have the fence repaired. (9) 11 June 2018 at 0940AM: called Lowe's at 877-505-4923 and spoke to a lady named "Rose" and told her that I talked to "Latacia?" at 7:40AM and wanted to know if she contacted the installers or someone to repair my fence. Rose told me that a Project Manager (Dexter or Dianne) would be contacting me within 48 hours concerning my vinyl fence. She mentioned that the warranty may have expired and I may have to pay for any repairs. I told her the fence was poorly installed on 31 March 2018 and it came apart in less than 70 days. I also mentioned to Rose that my paperwork states " Lowe's Guarantee that all installation services are guaranteed by a 1 year labor warranty" and my fence started to fall apart within 70 days. I mentioned to Rose that if my fence is not repaired, I may get an attorney to resolve this issue. She said, "Please wait for a Project Manager to call me within 48 hours." (10) 13 June 2018 at 1:06PM: Received a phone call from Lowe's at 877-505-4923 and spoke with a lady named "Shawn Garcia" and she told me that the installers will not come back to my property and repair my fence because it is out of warranty. She said that if I want my fence repaired, I will have to pay for the repair work. I told her that the fence way poorly installed by a team of 3 men who acted like "The 3 Stooges" and they so called completed the fence on 31 March 2018 and I believe the fence should last longer than 70 days. I was initially informed by Lowe's that I had a 1 year warranty, so why should I pay for repairs?

    We had the fence put up by two guys that work for K & K fencing their name is John Schilling and…read moreMichael, they did do this as a side job so that's on us but they did wear their K & K shirts and hoodies when they came over to do the work, they got all the material from K & K and talked about working at K & K all the time so to me this is a reflection on K & K in the work that gets done by these two. When they were here at the house they would talk about different jobs that they do on the side and the complaints that other people made this was before they finished our fence, now I understand the complaints other people were making. The job was three weeks late, they did not do it correctly meaning the gaps between the fence and the ground were so high that my Chihuahua could go under it without even crawling, The space between the gate and the polls are so far apart that our chihuahuas can get through them without squeezing. My husband and I both told them how important it was to have a very secure fence I even asked for the angles to put tension wire on the top because we have five Huskies anyone that knows Huskies know they are escape artist. They told us they could not trench the fence 2 feet under like I wanted so I told them to make sure the fence was as low to the ground as they could possibly get it. We stressed this to them hundreds of times. What we got was the fence was probably as high as they could get it from the ground. I am not even exaggerating. Our Chihuahuas could go under this fence without even crawling they can go through where the fence and the fence post come together without even squeezing. We had them fix the fence to go down to the ground before we gave the final payment. they half assed that leaving the top wire not attached to the polls. They left a lot of cut chain-link debris, they cut into one of our powerlines and their way of fixing it was that they put a cap on it put a crap ton of electrical tape and left it like that along with the gloves that they were wearing. They left a lot of trash behind. They half assed the decking panels, said that it was weather treated, which they are not. there's a gaps between the deck and panels on a few, I was going to put lattice at the bottom under the deck so the dogs could not get under they said it would look nicer with a solid piece of wood, what we really got was three strips of uneven 2 x 4's that look tacky. I bought a spring for the gate which never got put on in which the guy John never even brought back or left and will not answer any of our text messages also we do not het the tension wire that we paid for that goes on top of the fence. We paid $4500 for this fence job, only $700 cheaper than another company quoted us and what I had done in two days. We should've went with them. A friend told us about John and said he did a good job until I showed him these pictures I wish Yelp would let me show you more pictures. Our friend said he would not recommend him again to anyone and he apologized. I am going to talk to the people at K and K and show them these pictures as well. I am making this post more so you do not let a guy named John or Mike from K & K work on your fence or anything else that needs done at your house.

It often seems that communication and getting a response is one of the toughest hurdles to cross with completing home projects. Luckily, they were on it with the RAQ feature on Yelp. The project: rebuilding a 75' privacy fence along the one side of our property to match the other two sides. We were happy with the quote and timeline and moved forward on the project. The one thing that I think would have kicked this experience up a notch would be proactive communication updates on the project each day - even if it were a simple text of where things stand. Based on original conversations, it appeared that knocking out the project in two days would be possible (we and our neighbors both have big dogs to keep separated).unfortunately, the project ended up being more of a five day endeavor due to an error by the builders (the Pretty side of the fence was built facing the wrong direction but they quickly corrected it after we addressed it). Overall, the end result was a beautiful fence despite a few bumps along the road.

Expectations were set realistically. They came out on a Monday to begin the project. We have a chihuahua and Tyler made sure our fence was "chihuahua-proof". They were super friendly during install and we really love how the fence looks. They removed quite a bit of brush and debris around our old fence. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend. We added a double wide gate as well and really like that so much better!
