The price was fair and he seemed reliable, so I hired him to do the work in 3 or 4 days. Due to weather and scheduling other projects, he actually came out just 2 days later. It was fantastic to drive up to my house and see a brand-new gate. Larry and his assistant were finishing up with the post. They had to remove a patch of concrete, then pour new concrete. The new post is very sturdy. Both of them were polite and friendly. Larry said he prefers cash or cashier's checks for payment. Based on this job, I highly recommend Heartland.

The builders spent a lot of time shirtless and smoking cigarettes in my backyard. They had to to come back out to our property 3 times within the first two weeks because of issues. Issue #1: They forgot to concrete in 3 posts. Issue#2: They damaged a panel when they were installing it, they noticed this and then proceeded to turn the panel the other direction facing my neighbors house so that we wouldn't notice. My neighbor witnessed them do this. Issue#3 The gate latch ripped completely off of the gate week 1. Issue#4 The gate installed at the back of our yard was not installed properly and would only open about 6 inches. Our fence is now almost 3 years old. The vinyl fencing has many cracks. The company claims that this is normal and to be expected.

They are professional, have great communication, reviewed progress with me at every major milestone during installation, and built me a darned great cedar board-on-board dog-ear picket fence. The process was not without some minor bumps - I asked them to move and re-set some posts that wasn't perfectly parallel on one side of the yard (they fixed it, right then and there), and there were also some pickets where the wood started to split a couple weeks later (the foreman came out quickly and replaced all of the bad boards himself, personally). And the end-result is just amazing - all of my neighbors, and even people I don't even know, have complimented the build quality. Unquestioningly, I am absolutely impressed by the fence - it is sturdy and high quality, and is everything that I was hoping for. But what impressed me the most was the people. When they were here at the house they would talk about different jobs that they do on the side and the complaints that other people made this was before they finished our fence, now I understand the complaints other people were making. The job was three weeks late, they did not do it correctly meaning the gaps between the fence and the ground were so high that my Chihuahua could go under it without even crawling, The space between the gate and the polls are so far apart that our chihuahuas can get through them without squeezing. My husband and I both told them how important it was to have a very secure fence I even asked for the angles to put tension wire on the top because we have five Huskies anyone that knows Huskies know they are escape artist. They told us they could not trench the fence 2 feet under like I wanted so I told them to make sure the fence was as low to the ground as they could possibly get it. We stressed this to them hundreds of times. What we got was the fence was probably as high as they could get it from the ground. I am not even exaggerating. Our Chihuahuas could go under this fence without even crawling they can go through where the fence and the fence post come together without even squeezing. We had them fix the fence to go down to the ground before we gave the final payment. they half assed that leaving the top wire not attached to the polls. They left a lot of cut chain-link debris, they cut into one of our powerlines and their way of fixing it was that they put a cap on it put a crap ton of electrical tape and left it like that along with the gloves that they were wearing. They left a lot of trash behind. They half assed the decking panels, said that it was weather treated, which they are not. there's a gaps between the deck and panels on a few, I was going to put lattice at the bottom under the deck so the dogs could not get under they said it would look nicer with a solid piece of wood, what we really got was three strips of uneven 2 x 4's that look tacky. I bought a spring for the gate which never got put on in which the guy John never even brought back or left and will not answer any of our text messages also we do not het the tension wire that we paid for that goes on top of the fence. We paid $4500 for this fence job, only $700 cheaper than another company quoted us and what I had done in two days. We should've went with them. A friend told us about John and said he did a good job until I showed him these pictures I wish Yelp would let me show you more pictures. Our friend said he would not recommend him again to anyone and he apologized. I am going to talk to the people at K and K and show them these pictures as well. Mike Speek Jr was the rep who came out to give us a quote. He was awesome, professional and gave us all the info we needed. He wanted to make the sale and really sweetened the deal for us which was awesome. We went with an aluminum fence and wanted to make sure it was durable and would last. The warranties they offer are more expansive than any other company we got quotes from. Which makes us as the customer feel very confident in our purchase knowing that if anything were to go wrong, or break, or bend, we will be taken care of. Then we found Above The Rest Construction. Shannon came out and told us how great our fence was and understood it would be better to keep the original. He and his crew were excellent. Imaging that same fence with a splitting, rusty, "better get your tetanus shot before you touch that fence" look - and it was worse than you are imagining. Shannon gave us an estimate, took the fence down, brought them back after powder coating them and he fixed the fence gate that was not able to be used before as well.
