The salesperson came to my house for a blow-in ceiling insulation (prefaced that they were considerably cheaper than other businesses but quoted $1000 higher than 2 other bids) and then looked at my HVAC: merely looked, didn't ask any questions, offered a deal if I signed today (not happening) and then quoted $3-4,000 higher than my other bids. Always made me feel comfortable throughout the process. Well priced for what needed to be done. Mac was overseeing the project. He stopped in at the start and explained questions I had. A salesman came to our door to ask if we have any projects we want to get done. We asked about windows. We are kind of in a unique situation because when our old house was built, windows were placed up high. So we needed someone who could cut the space open and drop the windows down. Every company who does windows say, we can't do that, we only replace. Well, stupid to replace when our windows are not up to code. After the salesman making a phone call, to our surprise, they can do it. So we found out pricing, measured the new window size, and saw what we were going to get, and decided to go ahead and schedule with them. It took a few weeks For them to make with windows, then they called when they came in to schedule install. They said it would only take a day, but with them cutting into the house, I knew it would take 2. Always account for something not normal to happen. But they got the windows installed on the front two bedrooms on day one, then the next week did the third bedroom and all the finishing work. There has been such a difference in the temperature of our house. The windows look great, and I love that they open from both sides. They are so easy to remove for cleaning when needed, and we can finally see our our windows without standing on something. They guys were so polite, and are hard workers. Where to start.. we called this company to get a roof quote, we have a single level house, nothing hard or fancy and we was quoted 49,950! But lucky us they are running a discount and if we got it today and only today we can get it for 32k. The man was very aggressive and pressured my wife who was dealing with him, and then he asks her if her husband was home and that I should come out and make the financial decision. How was that acceptable? Not to mention their quote was double or tripled the price of EVERY other roofer we called. Horrible products, horrible follow through and non-existent warranty or repair as promised. In 2014 we had 32 1950 lead windows replaced with Triple pane vinyl plygem 1000 series windows and a swinging French door installed where a slider once was. Within 6 months we were having issues with them not opening and closing correctly. Some wouldn't open to clean and never worked again once opened. As of 2021 ALL the windows facing sun are FALLING out of the walls and most won't close and lock properly. Within the last year they have gotten even worse and are becoming a hazard. Some of these are HUGE windows and are expensive! We even installed rolling shades on the outside of the windows in direct sun in 2018 to protect the windows and save on energy costs. The magnets on the French doors don't work to keep them open, handle is junk and most importantly there is stains or condensation on the interior of the triple panes. We are completed unhappy with the product. Frustrated with the lack of reply when asking for them to be fixed. Livid that it will cost $50,000 or more to replace these faulty junk windows. read more

The ONLY reason for 4 out of 5 is the staff you interact with, prior to the build. They are ALL very pleasant, but have zero follow up. Don't call you even though they promise to get back to you the next day. And that was each person I spoke to. That being said... We had a new patio roof installed. What a terrible experience I had with your company. Your firm is Diamond Certified. When you came back the second time you said that your bosses had approved the price on the contract. I called Mac yesterday and he said that you will be reaching out to me which you did not. I had to call you today to find out what is happening and was told that the price would be higher by $10k. Not a way to do business at all. I am very disappointed and will never ever ask your company to do any work and will not refer you guys. It seems like not getting in touch with me right away, you were hoping that the 5-day cancellation period would be over- that is Fraud. I will be reaching out to the California and Nevada State Contractors Board, Better Business Bureau and other groups to let them know how unethically your company does business and be assured that I will put very bad reviews also. I just had them come out to do a roof quote & a door quote and the guy was creepy asked me multiple time if there was a Mr here and Oh if it was just me here, and what I did for a living and tried to get me to let him in my house and was weird and pressured me when I said No and proceeded to tell me how he was background checked and not a Sex offender. Who says that?? He also did not bring a ladder to look at the roof and walked around the house with one of those wheel measuring things and instead of going in a straight line he was wheel around things and sideways like a snake pattern, Very Unprofessional and So Creepy! Very used car salesman at best, sexual predator at worst vibes. Don't let them waste your time. They were cold calling on my street and stopping at houses with older roofs. I said sure to a quote since we were getting quotes to replace it and I wouldn't mind another estimate. The guy asks if I own the home with anyone else, I say my husband, and he asks if he is home. I said he was at work. Well they can come by when he is home the guy says and I state that would not be good for me, which makes him visibly uncomfortable. He asks other questions on if I work, where, and if people are home during the day; made me wonder if he was selling roofs or casing the neighborhood. He makes the appointment for me and leaves. Ten minutes later I get a call from his "manager" to confirm my appointment. I think this guy is just the one driving the car. He also asks if my husband can be there. I say no and if it will be a problem we can cancel. He says no and sends out the guy the next day. He shows up and first thing is whether my husband is home. I say as I told the guys yesterday it is just me and if that is a problem you can go. No, no he might as well measure and look before he speaks to my husband . . . we start to walk around and he is following me, without his measuring wheel, saying why he would prefer my husband to be available for the quote. I stopped him and said he could go because I was done and pointed out that two years ago they cold called and talked to my husband yet never demanded to have me there. I get needing legal owners to be there to sign off on starting a job/signing a contract, but for a quote it is not necessary; us ladies can actually handle this. Reno, Nevada Quality First office: Hired, and paid over $7000, for replacement windows for an upstairs bedroom. During installation on July 1, the installers dropped and broke one of the windows. The old window was already out, so they installed it with tape in the frame rather than glass, and told us they'd have a replacement out to us in 6-8 weeks. One of the other windows they installed is misaligned and won't lock, also promised to be fixed when the replacement comes in. Both windows are now hazards to my children (2nd story windows that don't lock/are tape instead of glass) and the tape is obviously terrible for insulation affecting my heating/cooling costs. It's now been 18 weeks. We've called and left messages on 7/6, (was told new window would arrive in September), 9/8 (no response), 9/9 (no response), 9/12 (was told oops, we didn't order the window, we'll order today and it will be here October 12), 10/19 (no response), 10/25 (we'll look for the window and call you back...didn't call back), 10/31 (no response). No one will give us any answers or return our calls. They took our money and ran, leaving us with a shattered, taped-up window through the hottest part of summer and now going into winter. We've filed a complaint with the BBB (1 week ago, of course there has been zero response) and are now drafting our final demand letter, to be followed by suing them in small claims court to get our money back, so we can have another contractor come finish the job....this has been a nightmare, QUALITY IS NOT FIRST, DO NOT USE. Heard a knock at the door and a young man asked if I needed any windows repaired and I said "I have a window in the back that's broken, could you finance and how much would it be ?" To which he said absolutely we can finance a window and ball parked me 800-1000$ and then called his boss and had me talk to him on speaker phone and confirm an appointment for the next day. They showed up 20 minutes early and when I said" I have one window to show you " he said "just one? " and I said "yes that's all I can afford " to which he replied " oh we usually do at least two" and I said "well I had you guys come here because I was told you could finance a window payment" and he said "maybe 3 or 4 but certainly not one" and I replied "please leave my house I do not appreciate being lied to" and he left and that was that. Contracted with Quality first to put in both a patio and patio cover The patio cover has been installed. The installation crew for the patio cover worked well together and before leaving made that I was informed ;of their schedule for the next visit. After the cover was finish in what i thought was record time, the entire crew went over the entire cover as well as a supervisor from First Quality making sure everything was good. i am very pleased with the quality of the work and am looking forward to getting the patio in/ read more

These guys showed up to my house a half hour before the appointment. took the worst measurements I've ever seen, after they went back to the truck to get a tape measure, then quoted me 40,000 for an 8 by 35 foot patio and that wasn't even the worst part. They repeatedly asked where I worked, what I did, if I had a spouse that was home during the day if the neighbors had moved in and topped it off with asking to look around the inside of the house. Whether this company is legit or not their professionalism is non existent. I wouldn't pay this company to clean dog poop much less an overpriced bag mix patio. just one more thing to add, the entire "appointment" was done In the pitch black. read more

I'm sorry that your company does not keep accurate records of work. You may ask your sales representative named Marc Whitt about this install. You used Rios Concrete as a sub contractor which I guess allows you to indicate that your Diamond certified because your company did not actually do the install. The gutters that you installed leaked and the person you sent back to repair, did not know how to fix because they still leaked. I paid another company to replace the gutters, and they indicated that the gutters were installed incorrectly. The concrete surface that you had Rios Concrete pour is now chipping away. I will send pictures of the leaking gutters, and the concrete that is chipping away to this e-mail that you provided. I stand by my comments, and will never use your company again. read more

I have never heard of a contracting company who has customers sign a contract before checking city code. We signed a contract for a 19x14 foot patio cover to be installed in our backyard. Four months after paying the deposit, we were notified the patio cover needed drastic changes to the original design. Quality First wanted to charge an extra $2700 to make the project pass code which is ridiculous and unethical. It took us five minutes to look up the code for our lot. Too bad Quality First didn't take the time to do that before offering a contract. After researching, there have been several lots on our street who had the same problem with Quality First. The only good thing about them is they gave us a full refund without a fight. I will never recommend them to anyone else. read more

There was a salesman who came to my house on 4/8 acquiring about window replacement he did his whole pitch (they come every year). My brother wanted to get an estimate as our windows been the same for 20-30 years we made an appointment for tomorrow 4/9. Lindsay who works for the company in Roseville, CA and manages the calls here in Reno, NV called me and said Pat who's apparently the owner or manager in Reno came and knocked on my door?? I told her nobody is here and I have security cameras and Ring doorbell camera alerts me when someone at the door. There was miscommunication yesterday with the salesman about the address being 1245 not 1275. We waited half an hour nobody came by I believe Lindsay never communicated to Pat about the address. An hour later they tried calling me making up excuses then they kept harassing me by calling me bunch of times then when I blocked the number they used another number. This review is based solely on the sales presentation. We did not choose to use them for our project. We had a canvasser come to our door right as we were in the process of getting quotes for our roof. We set up an appointment to get a quote. The appointment setter told us a little about the company, that they were having a huge sale going on and that they do a military discount. The salesman (not a roofing professional) arrived right on time and was very friendly. He was at our house for a full 2 hours doing his sales presentation, and did not get on the roof to perform his quote/inspection. He told us at the beginning of his presentation that he would give us an exact price at the end that would not change no matter what. He walked us through the entire roofing process and boasted about their great reviews on Google. Well, come to the end of his presentation- he gave us a price, but told us he doesn't have a crystal ball so that price could change. He also told us they don't do military discounts, they just have discounts and can call them whatever they please. One of the discounts was a few thousand dollars for giving them a 5 star review on Google. If you look on Google, they have great reviews, but now I don't trust those reviews since I know they are giving major discounts for those 5 star reviews! The other discount was only available during their initial visit. I basically had to push the salesman out the door, because he would've stayed for another 2 hours if we would've let him. Honestly, it felt like we just spent 2 hours with a car salesman. Very nice guy, but very shady sales practices. Plus, the price he gave us was significantly higher than any other quotes we had received. Our house is not huge - It's about 1500 sq ft, and a single story. Before the "discounts", his price was almost $40K. After the discounts, it was around $25K. All of the other quotes we received were between $12K and $17K. If you choose to do business with them, please read through those reviews carefully, as most of them are probably from people who haven't even had work done by them yet. read more

I read some of these other reviews, so I'd like to preface this by noting that I was not compensated in any way for this Yelp review. Quality First earned all the stars they're getting. I knew based on the inspection of the house when I bought it that my roof was likely at it's lifespan (built in 1986) but candidly, I am busy. The last thing I want to do is spend a lot of time and energy on contractor quotes. I needed the process to be easy and simple - which is why five years went by before I made the move to replace my roof. Quality First had been in my neighborhood several times and I'd seen the work they'd done for other homes. When they knocked on my door, I decided to entertain a free quote. I knew approximately what the roof I wanted would cost and their quote came in right at the place I had expected. As far as the work, the crew was great. They were very respectful, made sure to check in daily and kept things incredibly tidy. There wasn't so much as a loose shingle in my driveway the entire time they were working. Project took maybe 3 or 4 days, and at the end I found one lone nail that had rolled under my garbage can. Very happy that they left my driveway so clean! I would definitely recommend them - my roof looks great, has a killer warranty, and I was overall very happy that I gave them my business. read more

We purchased windows from this company seven years ago. We have had nothing but problems ever since. The windows sit in front of the siding without sealing and allow rain water to seep between the window frame and wood siding causing interior damage. They came out once and caulked the windows but it did not fix the problem. They supposedly have a guarantee but every time a saleman comes to try and sell us more windows, we show them the damage. They have taken pictures and promised follow up without following thru. Do not buy conversion windows. The flange is on the outside. Biggest mistake we ever made. I am writing this review now because we have had nothing but ongoing problems with the damage caused by these windows every time it rains. read more

Quality First gave me a quote in October for gutter replacement, the total quote was very reasonable so I gave them a deposit and signed an agreement. I was told by Mac that he would probably call me or text me in 2 to 3 weeks but I never heard from him. In November I sent a text to all of the employees identified in the quote requesting an anticipated installation date but no one responded to me. then I received a visit from the gentleman who gave me the original quote and told me that it would probably be another thousand dollars on top of the original quote and though that was pretty discouraging, I agreed and he said he would relay the message. I still never received a response from anybody regarding a timeline for the installation and today I received my deposit backbthat I gave them in October but there is no explanation as to why my agreement was canceled. I originally contacted this company because of reviews I saw from people in my neighborhood they had done work for. It's a month and a half later now, the weather is about to turn bad and I am back at the beginning. I would not recommend them. read more

They sent installers who didn't have any answers, but the Project Coordinator or Field Superintendent , who should have some indication of a solution NEVER show or CALL.. This was after I explained to the cold caller who setup the appointment that I would not be able to buy anything as I am just looking so I can plan a budget in the future. I told the guy who came the same thing. He gave me a quote and left. I got a follow up call and explained same thing I can't buy. They said no problem call us when you're ready. They sent a new guy out to me. I told him the same thing i cannot buy. Since then I've been contacted over and over and over again and I've told at least 5 people to stop contacting me. Guess who just showed up unannounced at my front door? Yet another person from this god forsaken company. Do I need a restraining order? What do I have to do to get you people to LEAVE ME ALONE. We hired Quality First to replace our roof, a very expensive job. The salesman repeatedly touted "gold star" service. Well, we didn't get that, and even Bill, the project manager, admitted that we didn't get that. We stressed that two members in our household worked remotely from home, including Zoom meetings and training sessions, and we needed to know when the roofing work would be done so we could arrange Zoom meetings accordingly. The ONLY worker who ever communicated any type of schedule to us was Mason, one of the tear-down guys. He was great. Otherwise, the work took over a month. We were never told when the roofers would be showing up, even though we told Mac that was a hot-button issue for us. Like one of the commenters below, they used the wrong length nail on the eves which had to be replaced. They forgot one part of the job and had to tear off some of the shingles to finish that. The roofers themselves didn't speak English, and we couldn't communicate with them directly to find out when they'd be back to finish. They damaged a hose in our backyard, and we were promised it would be repaired or replaced. Well, it's been a month, and yet again, all we hear are crickets. The friends who recommended this company to us are appalled and will never recommend them again. Neither will we. Leaving one star only because the roof was finally installed, but the customer service from this supposedly "gold star" company was sorely lacking. read more

It snowed a lot this past winter, and the roof held up very well to the load. The whole process was easy and our only issue was that the installation took longer than expected. It started with the sales guy claiming there is no extra charges for paying with a CC or discounts for paying cash. Turned out to be a different story when is came down to actual price. I'll give him a pass on some "confusion" and move. A call cones on and they want to schedule tear off the SAME DAY. Then acted put out when we said no. Arrangements need to be made. Now, here we are 1 week post roof install and several calls later we still have extra materials and boxes or their garbage in our driveway. All through a long weekend. They may be avoiding us since they used the wrong nail length on the shingles at the eves. Now my under eves are all splintered and look terrible. Initial response was nothing but excuses. Then the sales guy passed us off to someone else and it has been radio silence. The website for the actual roofing material is explicit about different length nails. The company touts a "team" approach from sales to coordination and job completion. Really this is simply a way to pass the buck around the company and not address actual customer concerns.
