We had an appointment scheduled for a quote for 4pm today, at 4:15 no one had shown. We called for a status update and was promised a call back. No call came. We called again at 4:30pm and still no one could give us an update as to where our rep was. Both me and my spouse had taken work off to meet them for the appointment. Highly, highly, highly unprofessional. At least call to cancel so we don't waste our time. This is really poor. We were ready to pull the trigger today on some very expensive projects. read more

It started with the sales guy claiming there is no extra charges for paying with a CC or discounts for paying cash. Turned out to be a different story when is came down to actual price. I'll give him a pass on some "confusion" and move. A call cones on and they want to schedule tear off the SAME DAY. Then acted put out when we said no. Arrangements need to be made. Now, here we are 1 week post roof install and several calls later we still have extra materials and boxes or their garbage in our driveway. All through a long weekend. They may be avoiding us since they used the wrong nail length on the shingles at the eves. Now my under eves are all splintered and look terrible. Initial response was nothing but excuses. Then the sales guy passed us off to someone else and it has been radio silence. The website for the actual roofing material is explicit about different length nails. The company touts a "team" approach from sales to coordination and job completion. Really this is simply a way to pass the buck around the company and not address actual customer concerns. For a service prospective this company is terrible and should get no stars. The guys doing the roof did a decent job and are the only saving grace. Mamet should be embarrassed. read more

I was contacted by a representative from Quality First Home Improvement and they sent a concrete contractor the following Monday morning. The contractor did an excellent job repairing the original area and two representatives showed up to oversee the repair. I pointed out some blemishes in the patio cover and they are having two panels replaced under warranty. We are completely satisfied with the repair and have no doubt the pergola will be also take care of. read more

My grandmother, who is 81 and has dementia, used this company in Reno, Nevada to replace her roof on a double-wide mobile home. They charged her $26,700! They also split this amount into two separate loans. When asked to provide an itemized bill, I was told they do not do that. They could only say that 60% was for materials and 40% was for labor. We had our whole roof replaced by this company. We were charged 30,000.00 for a 50 year warranty roof. We got a 25 year warranty roof. The salesman told us we would need 4200 square feet of roofing materials for our 1529 square ft. house with a 5/12 pitch roof plus double garage and patio cover. We were told a site person would double check the measurements making sure it was correct and a site person would be checking on the work being done on the roof during construction and finally the site person would check the finished roof making sure everything was done correctly. A site person never showed up for anything. They had over a month before starting the roof and still did not order the roofing color I wanted. I was then pressured in picking out a different color. The job site was suppose to be completely cleaned up after the roof was completed. I found a roll of roofing materials and a roof vent in my flowerbeds along with alot of nails. Having three dogs I am still worried about the nails as we are still finding then. The rain gutters were full of roofing debris and nails. I was told by the salesman I would be getting a finish edge. This did not happen. When ask we were told they don't do edging because it only last 5 years and yet when I checked the warranty is 15 years on the edge. We told the salesman we would pay the remainder of the cost by cash as this would put us over our limit on our credit card. They charged our credit card anyway, we called several times but no one would return our calls. We finally went to their office to straighten this mess out. The nails used on the roof around the eves of the house are so long the stick thru splitting the plywood underneath. It looks horrible! I know we were over charged for a 25 year roof. I was warned after the fact that this company takes advantage of senior citizens. The salesman showed us they belong to the BBB. If this is true I will no longer take belonging to the BBB as anything to rely on. Several months later they called us wanting to know if we would like to hire them for any other home improvements. We informed them we would never hire them again. I tried to download pictures but they would not load. 6/27/20. We just recently had a lot of rainfall and I could hear water hitting hard coming off the roof onto my patio. I had requested longer flashing be installed so the rain water would go to the rain gutters. I was promised by Steve the salesman they would do this. Again i was lied to and it never happened. Looks like they used the existing short flashing that was on the old roof leaving a gap causing the water to come down onto my concrete patio really hard which is damaging the concrete. For now I am having to put a bucket under the roof. On 6/10/20 My husband received a call from this companies sales office apparently wanting to come to my home and talk to us. Another fast talking salesperson is not welcome into my home. He offered a $2,000 dollar refund, that would make our 50 year warranty roof that ended up being a 25 year warranty roof 28,000. Still not the price of a 25 year warranty roof. My husband said he stated they used some material that would last 50 years, maybe the nails might last that long but that still doesn't make it a 50 year warranty roof. People that lie or misrepresent facts are not welcome to my home. read more

Got a knock on my door from a lady and I thought it was about time to get a patio cover quote so I made a schedule. I got a call saying they could not make it to the 11am schedule so I said okay to their requested 1pm change. I'm really easy going~ David arrived an hour late, I walked him to the backyard and told him what I wanted. He then suggested we go inside, and I was like sure. I told him sorry, but no shoes in the house (an Asian thing to keep the floors clean), then he walked right on in anyways (with shoes) saying "No worries, I've been in a lot of homes and your home is really clean." Gave me a quote with all the "august" savings, put a sign in my front yard savings, purchase the service now savings, etc for 16,xxx - 21,xxx depending on material for a 19ftx24ft patio. I don't know if the quote is expensive or not because it's the first one I've got, but they lost my business before the quote was even an issue. I use yelp a lot, it's time to start posting more! read more

I ordered 7 windows from these guys and wow what a smoking deal I got. And the guys were all outstanding with both getting them made quickly but the install was a hoot! A well oiled machine it was, they were in and out in about 4 hours. Amazing too was the sound and the consistency of temperature afterwards. I'm excited to see my next heating bill. A month or so ago, Quality First knocked on my door and asked me if I needed any windows. Normally, I would say no to anyone knocking at my door but I really needed a sliding door causing me to say yes. Before I knew it I signed a contract for a new door. I was so nervous about buying windows this way. In fact, I was asking everyone if they had ever done business with Quality. I even went so far as to call the salesman and told him I wanted to change my mind. BUT WAIT! Andrew and Seth installed my patio door about a month later. They are amazing. Andrew explained every step of the installation. I have to say Andrew is such a craftsman. They clearly know what they are doing. I feel bad that I doubted my initial decision in hiring this company. I had a canvasser come to my house to set up an appointment to sell me windows. Normally, I'd bow out but I really needed windows so I agreed. The salesman arrived at the appointment time and I decided to go ahead with the work. My measurement appointment was set for the next week. But no one showed up - no call, no show. Hmm.... maybe I should believe the Yelp reviews! When their manager called, after I rescinded the contract, we worked everything out and set a new appointment. Kevin showed up right on time for measurements, Chris (the sales rep) returned to do a new contract and we were ready to roll. Communication was stellar from this point forward. Kevin told me approximately how long the order would take so we set a tentative start date. When he contacted me to say the windows were in, I chose the install date. On the install day, the crew arrived right on time and went to work. I only had 8 windows to replace so they were going to knock it out in one day. At the end of the install, there was not one piece of garbage, material, anything left. They vacuumed all of the surfaces they touched. All of the crew was very friendly and respectful of me and my home. I love my new windows! The quality is top notch and they are such a beautiful improvement on what I had. The workmanship is A+. I am a huge stickler on clean, even caulking and Kevin did a fantastic job. Long story longer, I suggest any reader have an open mind when reading the negative reviews. Most of them are customer service failures, not product quality, and it seems Quality First is working hard to earn your business. What a joke! I scheduled time with this place about a quote for patio cover and rain gutters. I've been in the market and have already received 3 other quotes. I told them what the quotes were and not to come if they couldn't compete. They actually came to my door and said they were having some huge June sale. The guy came, measured, and then quoted us DOUBLE what everyone else had. The other places that I had researched all paid for permitting and had great reviews on their work. I know 3 other local companies with the same material and way better prices so good luck with those numbers. read more

My husband was outside our house when a man on foot approached him about our roof. We were in the market for a new roof so he decided to schedule an estimate. The salesman arrived at our house at 6 pm for what we thought would be a quick estimate. He stayed for 2 hours trying to convince us that we needed to sign the contract now. At one point another man showed up to help convince us. My husband told them multiple times that we were not ready to sign anything and needed time to think it over. They would not respect our decision and continually tried to get us to sign. I felt very uncomfortable and was getting very frustrated with these two men sitting at our kitchen table. It was past 8 pm and it was time to get my son down for bed. I spoke up and they finally got the point. Salesman stopped by house when I was working. My girlfriend was home and spoke with the salesman. She said he was very pleasant and professional. He offered to give a free estimate for repairing the roof. She let him know that would be fine. When the salesman called from my home to make an appointment with a supervisor, he asked my girlfriend when I would be home. She asked why? He stated because he's the home owner. She then asked why that would be and issue if I wasn't around? The supervisor then told her it would be better if I was around because she might not understand the estimate or what was being said. She was deeply offended by the statement. Why wouldn't she understand? Because she's female? Very very unprofessional conduct by the supervisor. UPDATED: Run from this company as fast as you can! I bought a good quality roof and they were to leave the excess roofing shingles behind, (for future repairs). They did a great job of taking my excess shingles with them. The area was left with nails and excess dirt and tar resign from the old work. It has been six weeks since the work and I still have nails and plastic material falling from the roof. Still no reply from Bill; the site foreman. He was informed of the mess and excess shingle issue after the work was complete. Bill even came by the house to check for himself. Bill has had excuse after excuse for not delivering on his word, but still no shingles!!! The company even had the nerve to call me and ask if I wanted more work done at a discount. I told them they never finished the clean-up from the last job they did! I have a new contractor coming in to install the windows "Quality First" neglected to finish the estimate for. Quality First doesn't even come close to what their name suggests. UPDATE: 1/31/2019 The Shingles were delivered today and a man came by with a cleaning magnet and picked up all the nails. We love our new patio cover. It took a little longer to get started on the project than we anticipated (due to HOA and city approval), but it was worth the wait. Once able to start they got the job done very quickly. Benny and Tony were great to work with and the quality of their work was superb. Both were very friendly, easy to talk to and considerate of our time and space. Once they cleaned up, you would never known they were here, other than our beautiful patio cover. We recently contracted with this company and paid them a down payment of $1,500. They cashed the check before the work was to begin. Subsequently they cancelled the job. It has been 2 months and several phone calls to get our money back. Now I have to file a complaint with the Nevada and California Contractors Board. I do not recommend them. Horrible experience with Quality First Reno NV. We signed our contract July 13th 2017 for sliding glass doors in master bedroom. We put adeposit down of over $3,000.00. It took the company until August/September to get the doors. Installation day in September, they called 1 hour after their appointment to advise the window in one of the doors was cracked. They ordered new doors which had not come in by Dec or January. The original doors shipped from Oakland Ca. During all this time we would call the project manager. He would never return calls. We escalated and that person never returned calls. We kept escalating hopefully to get results. Honestly, no one cared or returned calls. Finally in January 2018 ,7 months after we started the project we asked for a refund and stop the project. The project manager nor the local manager met with us to discuss our reasons for cancelling the project. We did receive a refund of our deposit after following up several times. They even shorted us $1.00. And of course did not offer us any interest for the use of our money for 7 months. We found an alternative and within 3 weeks our doors/deck are done. We had some mishaps as expected in any construction, the staff took excellent care of our concerns and responded and corrected them right away. Our roof was done in 1 week. The woman was friendly enough, but was asking me all sorts of questions about the age of my house, my first and last name along with my husband's name, and then called someone (I'm guessing at their home office) to schedule an appointment for tomorrow when I had TOLD her that I couldn't commit to an appointment time, and I'd just like a business card so I could contact them if we were interested. She wanted to put me on the phone to confirm the appointment, and I told her I couldn't because (like I had said), I wasn't interested in scheduling an appointment. You could see them canvasing the whole neighborhood. If she would have just given me a business card and told me a bit about their company, I might have considered them. But I don't want to work with a company who obviously doesn't listen to their customers. read more

It seems like the same story as the rest... I got a knock on my door from a sales rep saying that they were doing a promotion on roofs. My wife and I were in the market to get a new roof, so we discussed it and decided to go with Quality First. After agreeing on a price and signing all of the paperwork the work was set up to be done. I will give them this, they did a good job on my roof (so far as I can tell). The issue was the post work clean up... my wife and I found 30+ nails in our drive way and back yard along with old shingles from the demo and that sandy material that goes on the shingles all around our home. We have dogs and children so I texted Bill, my contact from quality first (our normal means of communication during the roof install) to ask if they would come back to complete the clean up. He said that he would have someone come over with a magnet. That never happened. I ended up with a flat tire and a couple of nails in my work boots... I let him know that my tire was flat (turns out it was a roofing nail) and asked if there was any recourse for me if my tire was flat due to a roof nail. Radio silence... I went around my house to pick up what I could so that my kids and pets don't catch a nail in their foot or paws... 4 weeks have passed and no response back. I've called several times and asked to speak to anyone who would be able to help me, and I was given the same answer: "there are no managers available right now, they are out of the office". One would think a "home improvement" company would be in a hurry to clean up roofing nails that they left behind once they were told that one of their costumers has a nail in their boot and tire but to no avail we are still finding nails around our home and they haven't sent anyone to finish what they said they would do when we signed the agreement; clean up when the work was completed. I will never do business with Quality First Home Improvement again. They don't care about their costumers once they have your money. read more

I have given these guys 3 shots at doing work at my house. I need two doors installed; one in the den and a storm door to go on top of the front door. The first time I set up an appointment, the guy never showed. Ok. 6 months later they come knocking again. I explained that last time the salesperson was a no-show. They assured me that would never happen again. Project manager showed up at my house, took the measurements and said he would order the doors and would be in contact. Doors should take 4-6 weeks to arrive - entire project would be done in 8 weeks. I was 7 months pregnant at the time I booked this and needed this project done ASAP. 10 weeks later I have not heard a peep...so I call my sales person. He tells me that the doors I want are not available. He is working on a new plan to get the doors I want. Great. 1 week later, no word. I call him again and again, doors have been ordered but haven't arrived. I was told they would arrive the following Tuesday and I would get a call to update. Tuesday comes and goes. I call on Thursday, nope still no doors. OK, i'm done. Cancel my order please. He says OK, no problem. No 'I'd love to keep your business, what can we do for you'. Just OK, cancelled. I called the main office and spoke with the district manager. He sets up an appointment to come to my house and discuss the situation. Appointment was for 4pm yesterday. No call, no show. I'm done with them. Now I am 9 months pregnant and scrambling to find a contractor to do this work. Never again will I give their door-to-door knocker guy a chance. Run from the company. They are terrible to deal with. read more

These guys did a fantastic job. We had a cover put over our front deck. It looks great! The colors match our house perfectly. It makes such a difference in the temperature of our home. They cleaned up after themselves when they were finished and made sure we were happy with the job. If you want a well insulated deck cover that you never have to paint or do anything too, this is the company to do it! read more

We recently had a GAF roof installed. The salesman arrived at the stated time and was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. We were replacing a wood shake roof with composition shingles. We now have visible screw marks under all of our eaves because there was a considerable thickness difference between the two roofing materials. We were not told this would happen or offered a way to avoid this such as building up the roof before laying the new shingles. We have a somewhat complicated roof line. The 2 installers were professional and dependable. They should have asked for help with some of the oddities of our roof line but did not. It was a very expensive project and some things should have been handled differently. No one from the company has called to discuss these things with us. We like the product that we chose but would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

We have another group posing as solicitors in the neighborhood .This evening after dark there was a white mini van with at least 5 young men out knocking on doors.They tend to go for the houses without the lights on!I asked for the name of the company the represented .The told me that they were with quality first home improvement.So I goggled them and found some interesting facts first of all there was a review on yelp a customer made an appointment for a estimate after they cane to her home however no one ever showed for her appointment!!I tried calling the number i found which was a Google number for a photography service!! these people were in a big hurry to leave when I came out to comment on there soliciting after dark keep your doors locked !! read more

I wish I could be positive, I do believe me. I want to see companies succeed. They came out to give me quotes on renovations of bathrooms, kitchen, replacing 3 windows and driveway widen. The guy stayed 3 hours, over quoted me with a price of $6k on the windows that are 1 foot height and 3 feet long. Measured the driveway and took some photos of the bathrooms did not bother with the kitchen. The price keep coming down through out the night and the next days to about $3k. If I would have agreed at $6k am sure they would have not admitted to their mistakes. I even told the guy I don't meet the quotes that same night. Give them to me in a few day after checking with his team. Texted me days later and calling me "bro", not professional. I am a customer not a friend. Till this day never got a price on widening the driveway. Got another phone call from Laurie clamming to me the right hand of the owner and she was aggressive on the phone asking for one of their team members to come by again for the driveway and they already have my measurements. I do not trust this company and I will never do business with them. Am sorry for the owner that he has suck lousy people on his team, am sure they all want to succeed, get contracts and make money but you call your selves "quality first" you have shown me no such quality. read more

Salesman came out for a very good 90 minute appointment and estimate. We wanted to wait a couple of months and pay cash, but he insisted we try putting on credit so they could start sooner. We told them we'd had an issue with credit, but he persuaded us to try. We told him we definitely wanted the patio cover even if we did not get approved for credit, and would call them when we had the money saved so that they could start. That was ten days ago. He promised to call us 8 days ago to let us know what was going on with the credit, but we never heard back from them. No phone call, nothing. I ssumed our credit was denied, but he knew we were still interested in having the job done for cash. Then I read some online reviews and was glad we did not hear back. He even told us during the appointment that there were some negative online reviews but to ignore them. This week, we have found that another reputable contractor will do the job for $2,000 less than our quote.
