Extremely Overpriced - Beware Before Hiring I recently had a garage door spring repair done by Quality Garage Door Services Orlando, and it turned out to be a very disappointing and expensive experience. My garage door spring had broken, and they charged me $300 per spring -- that's $600 just for the two springs. On top of that, they said the torsion tube needed replacement and charged $239 for it. After the repair, I contacted Banco Overhead Doors for comparison. Banco quoted $395 total for the same spring replacement job and only $39.95 for the torsion tube -- plus they offer a 3-year warranty, whereas Quality Garage Door Services only provides 1 year. It's shocking how much these guys overcharge. Their prices are far above any reasonable or standard rates. It was my mistake to go with them without proper research, but I hope this review helps others avoid the same costly experience. My garage door wouldn't open at 5PM on Friday. I promptly called, as they had done previously done woke for us. They answered the phone. Yeah! They asked if it could wait until Monday at 8AM. Sure. I got email and text reminders, which I appreciate. Received text saying Mike was on his way, along with a picture. I appreciated this additional piece of information, along with his love for motorcycles and his kids. () Mike and spoke about kayaking and the waters of Florida for a little while. Then he replaced the springs. Not cheap but Mike was able to waive a $40 charge, still getting price around $400. He then told me to lubricate twice a year all moving parts. Good tip. Quotes cost $75 and that fee wasn't disclosed ahead of time. Add: Now that I'm reading other reviews it sounds like the hidden $75 quote fee was just made up because some say they were charged $35! I'd give 0 stars now. There was no disclosure ahead of time that quotes cost $75. This should be made clear ahead of time when asking for a quote. This wouldn't hold up in court because there was no verbal or written notice nor did I sign any disclosure, but because the technician who came out was friendly, I paid it because it wasn't his fault. However, this kind of business practice is unethical. In addition, I would have agreed to the quote if it wasn't 4-5 weeks out in scheduling. The last thing I'd want to do is have to manually open/close/lock my garage door for over a month. I wouldn't recommend this company because of the hidden fees. read more

My issue is I called and made an appointment at least 3weeks in advance for their earliest availability. I have a commercial garage door that may have needed repair or replaced. Gave them the model number and brand of my current roll up door. They call me hours before my appointment to inform me that the boss (Mitch) decided to cancel my appointment. Reason, because they cannot get parts to my specific door. Young lady offered no option to who May be able to service. Not impressed. This is not a way to work with a potential customer, by the way I also have three other standard garage doors that I could have used them for. I set up an appointment same day over the phone and received an email shortly thereafter informing me that Jacob was on his way. Jacob arrived promptly and fixed the issue in a couple of minutes. He also checked the whole system and pointed out that the rollers might need to be replaced. He was friendly and efficient. I received the receipt via email. The entire experience was pleasant. I called this company because I needed a new panel on my garage door. I should have known it was going to be a bad experience from the start when the person on the phone told me it was a free estimate but as soon as the garage door technician arrived he told me it was a $35 trip charge. I told them what they said on the phone but he just said that it is company policy and he had to charge for it. I got on the phone with his office and they were just nasty. The girl said she was the office manager but was not professional at all. I should have stopped right there but I went ahead with the quote and then told them to go ahead with the installation. They said they would be back out the next day. Well a week later still nothing. I had to call them. They did not call me. Said someone forgot to order the panel. Finally got it installed and then they wanted to charge me $200 more than the price they quoted me. So be very careful. I called in for a service call on a RV height door (15 ft). They were suppose to be here between 8-10 am today. I called them at 10:30 am letting them know the tech hadn't shown up yet. I was promised he would be here by 11 am. He showed up at 11 am with a 10 ft ladder...only 5 ft short. I've wasted a half day off work!!! Let me tell you about my bad experience with "Quality Garage Door Services." I called this company because my garage door opener was not working correctly. I noticed a broken torsion spring so I asked for an estimate to replace it. The lady that answered my call said she that I would have to make an appointment to have a tech diagnose the problem. The tech that showed up looked at my door and unwound my working torsion spring. He gave my an inflated estimate of $450, which I declined. He then invoiced me $115 for a service and labor fee and left me with an unusable garage door. I would not recommend this company, I would recommend that you find a company that will provide a "free" estimate and reasonable prices. Or do like I did and save money by replacing your own torsion springs. It is not an easy job, but it is not impossible, with the right tools. Which you can find at your local Ace Hardware. read more

I would not hesitate to personally recommend this company to anyone that asked or needed the services that they provide. We needed their services to repair a Garage Door Spring that had broken sometime Sunday evening or Monday Morning when we determined that the Garage Door would not open. I placed the call to Quality on Monday Morning at 7:20 am and they were available to send a technician for the repair later that day. Jeanette who answered the call provided excellent Customer Service, and the technician, Michael, was on time and early in the Window of Time that was provided. I hired this company after they did a price match from a competitor. On February 26, 2021 I paid the deposit and placed an order for a complete replacement. After one week I called and inquired on a time frame - I was by no means rushing them. Just wanted an idea of a time frame because I was also trying to get my garage floor epoxied and wanted to schedule that. Lisa who answered was not professional and got annoyed I inquired. I apologized for what seemed to be a waste of her time, but she offered the time frame 4-6 weeks... The start of week eight I called and spoke to Brittany who said she would call me back within one day because she couldn't find any information on my job. But I never heard back, so the morning of the 8th week I called and had the displeasure of talking to Lisa, who again, was unprofessional and exceptionally rude this go around. They again could not provide and information, at this point I asked for a refund and she said she did not have the authorization to do so. I did some research on who the owner was, I sent a message to him and he told me he had some family issues and would look into it. Had a really bad experience due to a technician by the name of Chris, who says he has been doing garage door work for the last 34 years. Okay, I live in Long Beach, Ca. and it is very difficult for me to find someone honest to service my rental property because I am not there to evaluate or get recommendations from people I trust. So, I have to rely on the internet or yellow pages to make a decision. I chose to go with Quality Garage Doors for whatever reason. I called on Tuesday and a gentlemen answered the phone. I inquired about services and he informed me that there would be a service fee of $35 but if I get the work done, that $35 would be used toward the final price. He told me that Chris would be the technician dispatched on Wed. December 2 between 10am-12. Chris (technician) calls me from my rental property at approx. 1pm with a diagnosis of needing a "pair of springs as well as replacement of cables". He went on to explain how they use the best parts from Japan, not like their competition and he knows that I am out of the state and he "wouldn't mess over me." This is when I knew that I needed to get on the phone and check the high price in which he had quoted me to repair the springs & cables. I informed him that my cables should be fine because they had been repaired 6 years ago and he told me, "the cables are shriveling". This is when I know I needed "Chris" to send me a photo. 15 minutes later, he had my tenant forward a photo in which nothing was wrong with the cable in which I could see, so I informed him that I chose not to have the services done and I would pay the $35 service fee. Chris (technician) goes on to say that the total is $75 ($35 for coming out and $40 for labor). What Labor? I tell him that I needed to call the office to clear this up before, I give him any money. This is when Chris (technician) explains, "your garage door is a safety hazard and you should get this door repaired so it won't fall on anyone and get them hurt". I appreciated his concern but what he didn't know is, while he took 15 minutes to provide the photo of the springs & cable, I had called 2 garage door companies and they provided me with quotes of the following: Company #1: $80 less expensive on the high side for pair of springs and cables Company #2: $180 less expensive for a pair of springs and cables And to top it all off, Chris (technician) tells me that he will not be leaving my house until he gets paid the $75. I told him to have a nice day at my property. My tenant also informed me that he let the garage door fall which caused a crack & scratches on the door. I called the office and spoke to Heather, who was very pleasant & totally understood my situation. I guess she called Chris (technician) and talked some sense into him. She also said that she would have the owner, Lex, contact me. The owner did call and offer whatever to make it right but Chris (technician) had already made it WRONG! VERY WRONG! I would never allow Chris (technician) to come by and give a quote! To add insult to injury: Company #2 came out on Thursday, December 3, and completed the work. They replaced the pair of torsion springs and told me they had lubricated, balanced & adjusted the door. Also, the cables were not broken & did "NOT" need to be replace, UNLIKE WHAT CHRIS (technician) had given me a quote for. SO, MY TOTAL BILL was a lower price to repair my garage door instead of the amount that "CHRIS (technician) had quoted! GO FIGURE... The technicians that came to my property were very respectful, professional, and competent. Some were Armed Forces Veterans like myself. I don't have a problem with the personnel. My concerns are described below after my description of the situation. At my first visit to assess the job, I asked for a new door and a new motor. The technician looked at the motor and advised it was in good condition and did not need to be replaced. I went with that. When the new door was installed, the motor started grinding and binding. I don't think this was a malicious act. I just think it was bad luck or a coincidence. Nevertheless, I asked for a new belt motor because I wanted it to be quiet. The technician called the office and advised they would be back the next day between 2-4PM. I left work early again the next day to meet the guys at my house. I began to get worried by about 3PM when no one had showed up yet. I called the office and they told me I was scheduled from 4-6PM, not 2-4PM. When 5PM came around, no one had arrived. I called the office again and they said the technician would be at my house in 5 mins. He did arrive in that time frame and looked at the motor and wanted to fix it. I asked if he had brought a new motor as I asked the day before and he said yes and that it was a chain driven motor. I told him I asked for a belt driven motor, not a chain driven motor. He asked if he could try to get my old motor working and I said not to bother because I wanted a new motor. I called the office again, a little disappointed by that time, and expressed my concerns about not having an operational garage door all weekend. The staff member advised they had an opening the next day and I made sure she was aware I wanted a belt driven motor and confirmed the time they were going to be at my house. They offered me a discount, which I really don't want. I just want my door working again. I'm disappointed because I also work long hours and deal with difficult circumstances day-in and day-out, just as anyone else who pays taxes. I left work early twice and had to make-up that time in the evening until 9PM each day I had to leave early. The company does great work, I just think there needs to be clearer communication between the company and the customer. What I suggest to this company is to confirm with the customer over the phone what the job is and when it is to be done after scheduling it to make sure everyone is on the same page. I called again 24 hours later and was told "How long have you lived in Florida? I replied "All my life". He replied "Well 99% of the time service tech's don't show up".
