Started having difficulty with my single garage door opener a couple months ago--no problem…read moreopening, but lots of starts and stops to get it closed, and it was getting worse. Parry's Garage Doors and Openers originally installed the system in 1991, so I called them for service--half expecting it could mean needing a replacement after 34 yrs! Technician arrived on time, checked it out, and phoned in to speak with one of the senior techs with the company since the younger service man hadn't even been born when my Genie opener had been originally installed at my location. Turned out one of the connector bolts had corroded a bit and just needed to be cleaned off. He did that and put a fresh coat of lubricant on the track, and it's purring like a kitten! Unfortunately, even the Genie brand no longer makes their garage door openers to last like they used to, but should my unit need a refresh sometime in the future, I won't hesitate to call Parry's again for service.

When I called to inquire about the reason for the reschedule, I was informed that the technician was dealing with a family emergency involving his son. I expressed my sympathy and concern for the technician and his family. However, I also explained that I had taken time off work specifically to be home for the appointment and asked whether the company had another technician available or any contingency plans in place when emergencies arise. Unfortunately, the supervisor, Sara, became very hostile during the conversation. Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, she raised her voice and repeatedly asked if I did not understand that the technician had an emergency with his son. At no point did I question the seriousness of the emergency. I was simply trying to understand what options the company had available after I had rearranged my work schedule. I am genuinely sorry for what the technician and his family are going through, and emergencies happen. My disappointment is not with the technician but with the way I was treated by management. A little empathy and professionalism would have gone a long way. Customers should not be made to feel unreasonable for asking questions after taking time off work and having an appointment canceled at the last minute.

Horrific place! Been here 35 days and car door all scratched up from attempted break in…read more Homeless people sleeping on top floor parking deck. Bike was stolen. Thank goodness it is temporary stay $2200 bike was stolen in the first month. Front office refuses to return any calls about the break ins and theft. Left 8 messages with security and front office. Not one returned phone call from local or corporate office! Local police were only people to respond. Local police very responsive but when I made report they were running my name through the system like I was the criminal. Local police said they would check cameras but never heard back from them either. They just simply don't care about their customers. They also lied about the security because THERE IS NO SECURITY In am in fear of my life living here and I have never had that feeling before.
