3 Queen Beds room (only two units on property)
    Richard R.

I've actually stayed at some GRRRRREAT Quality Inn & Suites locations around the country. THIS ISN'T ONE OF THEM!!! To put it plainly, this is one of those sorts of hotel/motels where it is easy to see the owners put as little money as possible into its appearance/upkeep, although the common areas are a tad better than the rooms. I could go on and on about several things that caught my stank-eye, but none more then the musty, stinky, smoky odor that permeated every orifice of this hotel. They allow smoking on two of their three floors, but don't seem to realize smoke (and the smell it creates) doesn't know what room it is supposed to stay in!!! FINE if you want to have rooms for smokers, but why not make it the top floor only and upgrade your ventilation systems. My father-in-law could barely sleep due to the smell. Even people like me who are VERY forgiving of budget hotels have a tipping point. For me, it is bad odors and/or poor housekeeping. Also, the hotel is extremely dated and could use some serious refreshing. The microwave (for example) looked like the first generation of microwaves ever built. Same with the in-room mini-frig. The only reason we stayed was because they had a room with THREE queen beds for a great price. We got a late start driving back home to Atlanta from Chicago and felt the need to stop overnight. Lots of hotel choices on this exit, but the three queen beds room sold us. I wish it hadn't. I wanted to stay at the nearby TRU hotel or Holiday Inn Express, but I was overruled. SIDE NOTE: While the gentleman tending the breakfast area was doing a great job, the hot breakfast items were unappealing, so we skipped it. SIDE NOTE 2: The breakfast area was the nicest looking area of the building. SIDE NOTE 3: They have an indoor pool which used to matter a lot to us when our children were younger. Helped to tire them out before bed! SIDE NOTE 4: The chlorine smell was super strong. FINAL THOUGHTS Listen, my wife's 77-year-old father financed this little road trip to Chicago, and believe me when I tell you he is one of the most practical, thrifty & frugal humans on the planet. He has low expectations when it comes to conveniences and quality because low price is his driving factor. But I ain't mad at him because he truly knows how to stretch a dollar and never ever pays finance charges or fees of any kind if he can help it. He even walks parking lots at every gas stop looking for loose change on the ground and to date has found more than $150 per year since he started keeping track of it back in the 70's. Yet even he, as we drove off from this hotel after one nights stay said: "I hope you give them a bad review, they sucked." Amen pops, amen! 2019/89

On the way to Savannah, it was a nice choice for a hotel south of Louisville. Would definitely go back if in the area.

In the room, instead of drawers, there are many hooks on the wall. I like the decor. The only hindrance is the bed frame that juts out about an inch wider than the mattress. We kept hitting our shins on the corners. The breakfast was good. They have real oatmeal which is always a plus in my book. They also had a pancake machine, breads, cereal, juice, fruit, and yogurt.

There were giant connect four, jenga and air hockey next to the cutest seating. My room did not disappoint either, it reminded me of my cabin on a Disney cruise- very colorful and cute. Now I am not a fan of the soaps that are in hotels these days, so I bring my own. But they had a lemon soap and I could not resist. The lemon hand soap was so moisturizing and fragrant that I had to try the lemon body wash and I was equally impressed. The next morning at breakfast I made myself some pancakes at the pancake bar and made myself some coffee. All in all, I loved it here and can't wait to go to another one with family or friends so we can play giant connect four and jenga.

For example: reattaching the baseboard, spraying for ants (I've already killed about five - some in the bed), fixing the broken bathroom door handle, replacing the stained toilet seat, and addressing the musty, smoky odor and smelly carpet with flooring that can actually be cleaned. You can also hear every step from the guest above you -- at least in our room. When I first contacted the manager at Best Western Louisville, he offered a refund. I later learned I had reached the wrong property -- that hotel is about three miles from Best Western Louisville South, where my reservation actually was. Once I reached the correct location, the experience changed. I spoke with Carrie Peterson, who identified herself as the General Manager of Best Western Louisville South. She acknowledged the hotel has an ongoing ant problem but refused to issue a refund. Instead, she suggested I sign up for reward points to stay at "another Best Western," which I explained I would never do. Her approach was unprofessional, dismissive, and lacked accountability. She attempted to position herself as the victim and ended the call when she couldn't manage the situation. This was unacceptable given the money I spent and the conditions I encountered. If tournaments hadn't filled every hotel this specific weekend, I would have left immediately and paid to stay elsewhere. I will never return to this hotel -- or any Best Western.

Breakfast was a joke, all 4 mornings I stopped to look and left empty handed an hungry. Elevator was actively being painted when I got in it after check-in. Walls were wet for the rest of the day and no sign was posted to warn people but the paint fumes were a good indicator. Probably would have been better to paint it over night. Room was 'good enough'. A/C worked great. Mini fridge and microwave was nice as was the coffee maker. Bathtub was super small, short and shallow. Overall it serves its purpose, and was priced right for what was offered. Free parking was nice. Won't stay again if I get a choice though.

Wow! Chris put it to me correctly, "I take great pride in providing true Southern Hospitality"…read more This is a very clean and well kept Best Western, when Chris had told me he was in the industry 19 years, 4 of which have been spent here, I interrupted him to ask, if that was when they finished construction. Believe it or not it's one of the older Best Western Hotels in the State. You would not tell that by its appearance and upkeep. One thing I enjoy about staying in high end Vegas hotels, are the smells, it always smells like rich lavender or something herbal and fresh. As I lay on the exceptionally clean, white sheets, which thankfully are not scented, all I can smell is the cleanliness of my hands, just washed in my marble sink ; - ). Also has a soaker tube and multiple shower head. Definitely better than any Days Inn, Howard Johnson, or even Wyndham we stayed in the last 3 nights. Pride of ownership very evident. I am very glad I decided to spend the extra 16-20 dollars and stay at a hotel that has towels which are more like the ones we buy at Costco to wash our bodies with, instead of the cheap and rough towels the other guys use, you know the ones, the ones our wives use to clean spills or retire to car, boat and rv washing duty. If you value the few hours of sleep you will get before hitting the road again, I strongly encourage anyone reading my review to stop driving, or shopping at the Walmart near by and reserve your night. You will not be disappointed. The breakfast is an actual American Breakfast, fried eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, muffins of 4 types, waffles, bagels, toast, coffee, tea, milk, 3 juice choices, cream cheese, butter, jelly, jam, etc. An actually edible inviting breakfast is a great way to start the day and the long drive, and I am glad I was able to enjoy last night in a quite and clean hotel room. I won't be able to make it to any local attractions on my way to NYC because of Grayson (storm 2018). But I am very interested in visiting Bourbon Trail! My favorite whiskey, Makers Mark is made locally, and Chris strongly encouraged I visit, drinking or not, he claims its a must see. Thank you for making me feel welcome, I appreciate it, after 2230 miles from Los Angeles, through Flagstaff, Amarillo, Little Rock, I am glad I stopped in Shepherdsville Kentucky. A place I will always recall, as a destination where you will run into actual Southern Charm, thanks man. You made my day a lot more pleasant, I needed that today. ---- I read the only bad review from the yelper (looked up all her other reviews too, she is a mean SO& rarely has anything nice to say) with a cat as the icon photo, get real, lady, this is a property you can immediately tell has been completely renovated. There is an industrial park which recently opened with thousands of new jobs, and this area is being completely revamped, there is a classic Stainless Steel Denny's 100 feet away (An original Stainless Steel dinner dive Denny's!) . Definitely not a place you need to worry about bugs or rodents. I am staying at the world renowned Salisbury Hotel in NYC from the 8th through the 11th, I hope they do as good of a job impressing this SoCal Brat as Chris and this property has. Mic drop.........

I attempted to contact the front desk several times for assistance and to request another room, but no one answered the phone. I specifically chose Baymont by Wyndham because, in past experiences, the brand has typically offered affordable accommodations with reasonably decent room quality. Sadly, my good-faith decision to patronize your property was met with obvious neglect and poor quality control. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. It has also caused me to seriously reconsider whether I would choose Baymont by Wyndham again in the future. I would appreciate a response regarding how Wyndham intends to address these unacceptable conditions and the failure of staff responsiveness during my stay. Ive already sent a letter to the Kishu P group management. ZERO RESPONSE.
