First and foremost, the lady or should I say young girl that was checking me in last night she was on her phone dealing with personal problems. She had to ask whoever she was on the phone with multiple times to hold on, so she could take care of my check-in. Her friend or family member whoever they were hanging out in the lobby, was laying on the couch. Then the fun part was when I got the room 106. Those photos attached to this review are from room, 106 . Not only the carpet was very dirty underneath the AC was full of dead bugs and spiderwebs, and you can tell that it has not been clean for decades, probably since the hotel opened up. And what made me look underneath the AC was alive cricket inside my room inside the AC where the spiderwebs were. The cricket was chirping, nonstop, almost all night to where I had to go and switch to room 103. Before I got switched to room 103 I went back to the front office to talk to an older gentleman that does not understand English. He had to use Google translate and I had to show him on Google images of cricket look like because he did not know what that was. He finally switched me to room 103. Room 103 was a king size bed with a hot tub Jacuzzi in the room. I was so tired and exhausted and just wanted to sleep. I did not take any photos of room 103 there was not much to complain other than still a little bit dirty in the carpet and dusty around the bathtubs. My overall experiences, I'm not surprised that Google review gives this less than a two star rating. Luckily for me, I used Expedia points so I had a free night, but if I had spent the money to stay here, I would've been mad . I do not recommend this place unless you're an emergency for a place to stay. read more

Wow. Just wow. Do. NOT. GO. HERE. This place was awful, from the second we pulled into the driveway. (The photo you see online is NOT a clear representation of the actual property.) The entrance doors were open, probably due to the momentous amount of cigarette and marijuana smells we encountered. The front desk lady was running around and chatting with other people going behind the counter... it took a solid 5 minutes for her to talk to us. Once she did, she was rude and abrupt. Got our keys, went to room 138. (Hard to find because the number on the door was gone) We walked in and didn't set our stuff down. Where to begin?!? We entered the room and noticed there was DUCT TAPE being held on with binder clips on the front door/ window frame. There were dead bugs... cockroaches. The sheer "curtain" behind the black-out curtain on the left was shredded, with holes and what looked like blood or excrement. There wasn't a right side sheer curtain. The black-out curtains weren't fully on their track and didn't shut all the way. IF we wanted to use the broken jacuzzi, we would've been viewed by the sketchy people lurking outside. There were bugs on the bed, with blood. The light switch plates were coming off the walls. HORRIBLE water damage on the ceiling. Then we saw the LIVE cockroaches. We weren't there more than 5 minutes. My husband told the front clerk woman that we had to go due to an emergency... her reply," I hope that's the truth and you're not leaving due to the fu*king room." WHO SAYS THAT TO HOTEL GUESTS?!? I really liked staying here for my KY stop on the way to and from Mardi Gras. This hotel is in a great location, right off the highway and with a Shell station to gas up at in the morning a stone's throw away. The clerks at the front desk were both very nice, both on the way down and the way back home. It did take a while to get checked in on the way back, but there was some event nearby and the hotel had a sign up on the door that they were fully booked. There was a gentleman in front of me checking in, and the phone kept ringing off the hook but the girl behind the desk stayed cool as a cucumber. She was so friendly despite being so crazy busy. The room was perfect. I have RA, so I try to book an accessible room which helps tremendously. They are always on the first floor too, as it's nearly impossible for me to do stairs with heavy luggage. I was in room 100 both nights. It was in the corner across from the pool. It was a nice large room with parking steps away. One reviewer talks about how nice the pillows are, and that is definitely true. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The room was very large and had a microwave and fridge and was very clean. The TV worked well, always a plus since I can't sleep without it. There was a coffeemaker, which I consider a must. The bathroom was huge with lots of counter space to put your stuff. I really liked the dark flower pictures on the wall too. The parking lot was well-lit at night. I felt safe getting in later on the first stay and unloading all my stuff. Overall, this was a perfect and comfortable stay. There is free wifi, the hotel was quiet, the bed provided a night of good sleep, there was coffee when I woke up, and lots of room to spread out. And Shell was right there the next morning to get gas for the next leg of the trip. I would definitely stay here again and recommend. read more

Well,we knew this hotel was not rated high, but it would accommodate all our families, so we booked 4 rooms on Thanksgiving week. Room 1 and 2 were refurbished. When taking a shower in room 1, the water leaked into room 2 under the sink and made a big puddle. So both of those families had to get another room. Ugh. Room 3 smelled of smoke. So we got a different room that didn't smell, but the toilet overflowed the second morning. We were only in our rooms at night. We spent all day and evenings at the caves so the toilet should not have given us trouble. The hotel staff were friendly, and the lobby was clean and fine. read more

I started out good with a pleasurable check in and then proceeded to my room. Swiped my card to unlock the door and it was latched from the inside. Heard a man's voice say we are finishing cleaning. Waited for a couple minutes and a man and woman came out. They had no vacuum or dirty linens or cleaning supplies of any kind. The room smelled of guilt and both parties looked to be making the walk of shame coming out. I went back to front desk and requested a new room which I was given. Walked out of my room later to see drug use outside. Later while I was out I saw a cat thrown out of room. The aura around this place is impure and not comfortable staying here! Enjoy! Room was okay. A little subpar for a typical room. Fine for the low price. Not as bad as you'd expect from the outside. Exterior looked a little rough and did not look like the nice photo online. Breakfast was limited, we preferred to go to Cracker Barrel nearby in Cave City. Hotel is only about a 25 minute drive from Mammoth Cave NP Visitor Center (park entrance is a bit closer than that). Nice staff. Decent WiFi. Another hotel would probably have been nicer but we don't regret saving money on this one at all. Didn't use the pool so I can't comment on it. The hotel might attract a slightly rougher crowd. Couple in room next to us were arguing into midnight but I won't hold their behavior against the hotel. Staff member said they stopped or were going to stop booking rooms to locals because of how they treat rooms. So I imagine that's why other reviews apparently had worse rooms. read more

Maybe come back after they finished their remodel. The room was updated, still needed some work. The mattress was new and so was all the furniture and decor in the room. The room had a microwave, but they didnt sell popcorn, also had a mini fridge and coffee maker. If you need it, they also has a iron, and blow dryer. Unfortunately the door was super hard to open and there were a few problem areas that should be addressed. First the door,of course, second the front window was cracked and needed repaired. The ceiling had some cracks that needed drywall repair, some carpet still needed taped down. The plus side was the room was clean, you could tell they were doing upgrades. The free breakfast, what can I say, it was free. Not the best and certainly not the worst. One thing was nice, the staff was super friendly and they have a pool. Forgot to mention, this is in a dry county, luckly the closest liquor store was only 6 min away! read more

Do not stay here! Only one person was on staff, and she was completely overwhelmed. She didn't answer the phone, and still today no one is answering the phone. We were given a smoking room at first, then a non-smoking room. The bathroom was dirty, and there was no running water. Loud construction sounds behind our room revealed a large hot water tank being replaced. We left within 30 minutes, and are still trying to get a refund. read more

The staff here is pleasant, but that is where the pleasant ends. The room is dirty, carpet especially. We went to a local Walmart to buy shoes to wear in the hotel room as our feet have been soiled since the start. The sofa bed is broken which is half of the reason we stayed at this hotel. The other half was a pool. The pool is also broken. The room next to us is smoking or something as our room randomly smells of cigarettes. We found receipts from a local McDonald's from July, so clearly the cleaning is an issue. We purchased cleaning supplies to clean the toilets and showers before we used them. This has been an expensive waste! The whole place just seems dirty and we all have big bites on our legs! read more

We had a two night stay here. The ac in the room didn't work, no remotes for the TVs, and the couch was broken. We were their for 3o minutes, canceled the stay, the women working the front desk was not very helpful and said we would have to wait 5 to 7 days to get our money back. We stayed a night at the Quality Inn & Suites in Horse Cave KY on 3/31, account #515625462 Room#220. The room was disgusting, floors had not been cleaned, hair and dirt in the bathroom, there was a huge dip in one corner of the room where the floor was giving away, sharp broken tiles on the floor, and the worst what appeared to be blood all over the curtains by the door. So unsanitary and unsafe for our small children (we made them wear shoes the entire stay). This room wasn't worth $20 let alone the $165 we paid for it. Had we known this place was going to have dirty blood on the curtains and broken tiles that could have cut our kids feet we would have kept driving through the night. When I let the front desk know the agitated girl told me that she had just worked 16hours and did not care...Made no effort at all to remedy anything. Awful experience. read more

Furniture was updated although the sheets were ripped. Would never even think about showering here. Stains are still on the ceiling from years ago as stated in another review. First room we went into we used the restroom, flushed it and water flooded everywhere, not understanding why they wouldn't put a fresh roll of toilet paper out, it was used with one strip left. If i could i would give 0 stars. So after driving all night we finally get here at 5 am on Friday morning. They charge us for 3 nights since its before 3 pm. I booked ovee the phone the day before. I picked them due to location and pet friendly. I was told yhe room was $95 per night after i mentioned i had a pet. When checking in i was informed that its $20 per night for a pet which i was not told about when making the reservation. The room was $99 one night $119 the other 2. So now im $110 more between price difference and pet fee than originally told. After explaining my disgust the guy tells me he can't do anything about it that if he gave me a discount he would have to pay out of his pocket. Due to the time it is in the morning after driving all night long and thunderstorms and construction I take the room because I don't feel like trying to find another place at this point. We get into our room and it is absolutely filthy the carpets not vacuumed there's toothpaste and Grime on the sink counters both the bathtub and the jacuzzi tub are dirty hair all over the place dirt all over the place dead bugs on the floor and the counters and end tables have oil or grease on them. So I called the front desk tell him he ends up moving us to a different room which is better and cleanliness but still not really that clean and the only thing they do for us is remove one night of pet fee. And to add to it the pool is also out of commission which we were not told about until checking in and we were told that they found out on Wednesday that the pool did not work which means they knew at the time of me making the reservation that the pool was not open and they did not mention it. Part of the reason we picked this place because it's supposed to be 95 degrees this weekend The first thing I will be doing when I wake up is looking for another hotel in the area and I will never ever choose Quality Inn again at this point to stay no matter where I travel. I have had better service it craphole motels on the side of a road then this place. I can't believe in 2017 and a corporate chain of hotels would have such horrible service and uncleanliness. Great place to sleep, if you like worn out dirty carpet, main door without a deadbolt, stains on the ceiling, dust and dirty kleenex behind a bedside table, unplugged light and alarm clock with an outlet nowhere in site. Let's not forget a 2 bathroom suite and one of the bathrooms doesn't even have a door. No door or frame WTF. locks from the 60s. Maybe some of the money spent to renovate the lobby should have been spent tearing this place down. By the way, this is a MOTEL not a HOTEL. One star because I couldn't do less. This place was terrible. I reserved a room with a jacuzzi tub and only 2 out of the 6 jets worked. The room had at least 5 flies buzzing around the room when we arrived. There were large crumbs on the rug. The paint was bubbling/peeling in many areas. When I told the front desk, they apologized (which I appreciate) but offered no compensation. After a 12 hour day of driving home from a spring break trip we tried to find a hotel that had a room for us to get some sleep. After driving from city to city w/o luck finding any availability, this hotel had a room and seemed to be a bargain for $130/night. It was late and dark when we got to our room, we went right to sleep. In the morning my Husband woke up and showed me the sheet he'd slept on all night. It had a large stain of blood that looked fairly new. Obviously had not been washed. How was this bed made w/o noticing that? Absolutely unacceptable! When we told the girl at the front desk, we didn't get a sorry or offer to discount my room. She just said "oh" and handed me my bill. Don't stop here! Go across the street for God's sake! Front desk was very nice. Couldn't find light switches that worked when we arrived in the dark. Room stinks so so bad! No hot water in the sink. 2 different colored comforters on our 2 double beds was weird. Dogs barking through the night and morning is obnoxious and woke me up several hours before I had planned to wake. The place is old and needs updates but beyond that The room is just dirty and stinks. It's worth another $30 to stay at the Holiday Inn across the street, especially if you have your family with you. This place was fair-to-middlin as a Quality Inn. Reception was great. Furniture has been recently updated and the room was pretty clean overall. It's an old place and the burned out 18 wheelers next door added to the ambience -- made me feel a bit apocalyptic and looking for zombies. However, the shower water was cold and that led to a stinky and pissed off wife. There was no compensation offered for the cold water...so much for customer service. read more

Checked in late at this hotel the 1st thing we noticed smell in room, opened refrigerator and found a old container of food. Laughed about that mistakes happen. When went to take shower in morning closed door to find a dirty towel hanging covering up a hole in the door of a fist. Turn on water no hot water, ice cold even left run for 5 min. Gap in door on floor and side of door letting cold air in. Went to complained at desk was told "nothing they can do". The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the staff were very helpful and courteous when we had to go get a fan at 2:30 am because the air conditioning wasn't working. I have a feeling they have faced this complaint on multiple occasions... The door had no dead bolt, very little hot water, horrible TV reception, coffee but no coffee pot, ironing board but no iron, and the lighting in the bathroom was simply a light bulb with no cover recessed into the ceiling.
