She was all alone, no management, when you tried to call front desk from the dirty phone in the room it just had a busy tone, then I walk downstairs and she's doing nothing. However after getting my husband and went back down a party in the hall room was taking place and the front desk girl was carrying dishes down the way to the restaurant next door, as we had to stand at the desk and wait for service. The hotel room STUNK horribly, mold on the ceiling, lobby was dirty, mats were dirty! Just nasty place, we called our third party booker and got our refund and slept on our family Members floor which was 5 stars compared to this place.

We travel a lot (my wife is a travel nurse). We stay at a lot of Hilton and Marriotts. We also use RCI to stay in Resorts across the country. Lynn Trueblood (Front desk receptionist) notified my wife that they kept our $150 'security deposit' secondary to 'dirty towels/linens/dog hair.' "Dear guest Your deposit was kept for the extra cleaning needed by housekeeping. I will also send you pictures of the ruined towels in the room." Lynn Trueblood Lehigh Resort Club Front Desk Supervisor" The towels were not ruined and any Resort could easily wash normal use of towels. The minimal dog hair is normal cleaning at any Resort/Hotel/Motel. Lynn then had the audacity to tell me that no resort would put up with the condition we left the room in. She then sent me pictures of dirty towels and dog hair claiming it took the housekeeper 'hours' to clean the room (pictures attached). This is the most absurd thing that I've ever come across. She wrote this via email "I also stay at a lot of resorts and none of them would put up with the condition that you left our room in." Like I stated above, this place is obviously desperate for money. It is sad that they have to stoop that low as to keep people's security deposit and try to make guests feel like they left the room in a filthy condition when they did not. Not to mention that their housekeepers do not speak English and are very rude. Something ICE needs to look into I've been traveling full time with my wife for the last 3 years with my service dog and not one place has ever complained about our cleanliness or attempted to keep our security deposit. We are disputing the charges and we will escalate the situation. Very disappointing. We will obviously never be staying here again. Attached are the photos that she sent me via email on 'destroyed towels & dog hair that took hours to clean.' This kind of stuff needs to go to upper management to have people like this reviewed and reprimanded. I think I'll be the guy to make sure that happens.

The screened in lanai overlooking a beautiful lake. The swimming pool with hot tub and kiddie pool all were so beautiful and clean. This place has everything you need: beach equipment, wagon, bikes, designated parking spot, even hydrocortisone cream. We had a car, but this place is perfect for those with no car. It's only a 5 minute walk to the closest beach, 12 min walk to the lighthouse beach (and a lot of beach parking on the island is not free). It's surrounded by good food- our favorite restaurant on the island (wickies) is just across the street, along with great ice cream. Just to the right is the deli where we got yummy bagels and coffee many times. I also prefer staying on this side of the island as it's much more cozy, small-town feel, and walkable than the other side and down by the beach resorts (we drove out to see). Our flight got cancelled on our last day and Joe was so accommodating with their equipment and outdoor space. My one very minor and personal opinion suggestion would be that the fluorescent bulbs made the room feel a bit blue and stark at night, if the bulbs had a yellow tint it would feel even more cozy. We can't wait to bring our kids when they're a little older and stay here again!

The resort offers a complimentary welcome drink, but I wouldn't really call it complimentary since there's a mandatory $35 daily resort fee that covers various amenities, many of which you may not even use. I also don't drink alcohol, so it wasn't much of a perk for me. I did take advantage of the 24-hour fitness center and was pleasantly surprised. There was a good variety of equipment, the treadmills worked well, and they provided complimentary towels, water, and even apples. My only criticism is that the gym could use a more thorough cleaning. One thing to know before booking is that this resort doesn't have a beach. That wasn't a dealbreaker for me because the pool was very nice. My mother and I drove to Sanibel Beach, which was only about 10-15 minutes away. However, parking was difficult to find, it costs $5 per hour, and the mosquitoes were relentless. Unless you're set on visiting the island, I'd recommend relaxing at the resort instead.
