The hotel is right near the busy fast road, and you have to be careful to watch for fast cars when you exit the entrance from the hotel. And it's hard to enter going in from the fast road. Continental breakfast is pretty limited, and their coffee is bad. The light switch for the bathroom is outside the bathroom so when you're done with the bathroom you have to reach for the light switch on the outside wall and the light coming out from the bathroom would disturb the person sleeping and that's bad design. The light switch should be inside the bathroom. I would not want to stay in a hotel with that design (unless I'm single). When we arrived on our first day of our visit the mini refrigerator had water on the bottom inside and it didn't seem to be cold enough so we had to report it to the front office and they came the next day to fix it. I expect everything to be working okay during our first day of stay. The maid service was okay. There was confusion one time, they took our used towels and didn't leave cleaned one and they didn't do any maid work on that day and we had to report it. The bathroom was small, reminds me of the small bathrooms in Japan. The room size was okay but there were not enough chairs (for married couple). The pricing for the room stay is reasonable. The reason we stayed in Clayton was to do whitewater rafting very close by. read more

Is this place fancy? No. Is it near all the action? Yes. It was clean and that is important to me. Although the musty smell when I first walked into the room was a bit off putting. Once I put the AC on, that got rid of the smell. The staff was so nice. The Plumbimg a little finicky but they have a plunger if needed. Is this TMI? ;-). FACT: We are the World's Worst Campers!!! We decided to break off from our Boy Scout Troop and spend our overnight at a local motel rather than under the stars. What can I say, we don't have much need of camping gear considering our ideal vacation involves a beach or a cruise ship! Besides, the last time we attempted a weekend camping in the mountains, my back wouldn't forgive me for a month. Quality Inn was one of only a handful of options, but we were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. We travel lots and love a good deal, but value cleanliness even more. These guys did a great job on both. They offered us a GREAT AAA rate and best of all, hot breakfast is included (I told you we are the worst campers ever)!!! Room was clean and smelled FRESH (love that), beds were comfy, and all the room amenities were operational and in good repair. NO PROBLEMS whatsoever with a/c temperatures, shower, hot water, microwave, or critters. If I were guessing, I would say they recently updated the carpet, walls, mattresses and linens in the rooms. Furniture style was about what you would expect in a budget motel, but overall it was a good value and pleasant experience for a last minute overnight stay. I would highly recommend it for others like us who clearly don't understand the concept of camping or anyone passing through needing a good rest. Breakfast was edible and a better selection than I expected. Make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausage patties, cereals, yogurts, fruit, bagels, danishes, raisin bread toast, orange or apple juice and coffee. Thinking about how fortunate I am as a American to even have this option helped me not complain about the taste of the hot foods, along with salt, pepper and a little jam. For a budget motel, these guys do a great job. Checkout was easy and Justin (the manager) was extremely pleasant as he spoke with a noticeable Southern twang. This was the cleanest motel I've ever seen. Absolutely spotless. It was a good average room- comfy bed, plenty of pillows, nice duvet. We arrived at an inconvenient time- the hurricane weather had passed through the day before, their electricity was out for a good while before we arrived. We had no Wi-Fi or tv but they told us upfront- it came on later that evening. There was no hot breakfast due to Covid- but there was fruit, yogurt , toast, sweet rolls, bagels, muffins- all individually packaged, and beverages. And like I said, amazingly clean ! read more

The room had been updated and was very comfortable with a loveseat to sit on while watching TV or reading. I found the king sized bed was very firm but my husband thought it was more comfortable. The included breakfast had a good selection and the area was clean. The motel is convenient to several restaurants and downtown Clayton is just a short distance away. We stayed based on Richards review. I was happy with the room for what we paid. It was around $84.00 or so after tax and Jonna was VERY helpful and fun! Breakfast is only available until 9:00am and I chose sleep over a full tummy. The rooms were maintained and cleaned and the shower was great. read more

I come to Clayton several times a year and have stayed in most of the hotels. The Quality Inn &Suites is best by far. It is clean, quiet and well maintained. A friend of mine and I were on our way to Cherokee, NC, and I got a violent migraine, combined with motion sickness. As I knew I would not be able to go further from Clayton, we got a room at this Quality Inn, so I take some meds and sleep it off. I was violently ill. After a few hours, I was okay to go back home in the car. My friend paid for the room, as I could not even sit up when we checked in. This shady place charged him TWICE on his debit card--80 bucks a charge--and we only stayed there a few hours. 160 dollars. When my friend went to use his debit card to get gas, it was declined. It was then he found out he was charged twice. He called the hotel and was told by the stupid person over the phone that 'nobody' was there that could get into their 'system' to see what happened and that she only saw one charge. Oh geez. So, my friend called his bank. Indeed he had been double charged for a single room, and now that double charge would make him overdrawn for other bills that were clearing on his account. He's called the hotel back, several times, today. The ethical employees recognized his phone number and refused to answer the phone. He called from another phone number, and they answered. They refuse to do anything to rectify their alleged 'mistake' aka alleged FRAUD and keep giving us the runaround. "Oh, we don't have the owner's information...oh, there's nobody here that can answer that question." So, I'm posting this so all the fine folks in the business community in Clayton, Ga., can see what sort of business the owner of this crappy hotel conducts here. By the way, 80 plus dollars for a sub-par hotel room during the off-season? We only stayed a few hours, so you made your money and more. Part of me wonders if this 'mistake' in billing is because whoever was on duty thought we were doing something naughty in that room?? Trust and believe, my friend and I are just 'friends' and there is no way anything naughty happened, as I was too busy throwing up. Either way, this is what I call a 'shakedown.' We called ahead because we were heading south towards Atlanta, they said they only had five rooms left so we went ahead and booked the room, when we got into the room it was very mildewy smelly and the bathroom floor was wet and had mold as the pictures will show... The one employee they had at the desk was very very helpful and gave me two different cans of bug killer because the red ants were climbing in the room door... The one good part is the swimming pool had salt water and seem to be very nice and warm, Thank goodness my two companions had a can of Lysol and a can of Air sanitizer to get us through the night, the room cost was $120 a night, this room would be more of a $50 a night room at best read more

CONS: Beds were hard, room smelled a little too strongly of air freshener, and lack of power outlets (we had to unplug the lamps to plug in our devices).
