It's only about a 2hr drive from where I am but there was a bit of traffic getting out of atlanta on a wed afternoon when we left so we didn't get in till dark. I called to say we might miss the office check in hours (till 6pm) so they kindly left the key in the cabin for us for whenever we arrived which was very helpful. The rooms were clean and kitchen and bathroom had pretty much everything you needed. We also utilized the charcoal grill. Only complaint was the lighting was a tad dark during the night but maybe it's to help you relax. Loved the view of the lake from the cabin, it was beautiful to wake up to. We were also able to bring our dog for a $60 fee. House rule does say no dog on bed so keep that in mind. There was a little doggy station on site and we were able to walk him around the property to potty. He enjoyed his stay and we liked going to the nearby trials in the morning/afternoon for a hike. There's an ingles nearby as well as some other restaurants if you need food options like McDonald's, Dunkin, couple of Pizza chains, and whatever a small town typically has to offer. Start or finish the day on the back porch gazing at the mountains and Lake Chatuge. The room was in disrepair and dated. The "valley view " room was beautiful years ago but is now an overgrown wooded lot. Construction tape and equipment is scattered over the property, potholes are everywhere. The restaurant, which is legendary, is nicely remodeled recently, however the staff is not attentive and have a hard time understanding you. The food was terrible. Crunchy Lima beans. Vinegar soaked coleslaw. Soggy unseasoned fried chicken. This was a family owned business for 100 years recently sold to a New York real estate developer it's so sad to see this legendary establishment become a corporate cookie cutter hotel. The food used to be known all over as the best around, it is now inedible.

The bathroom ceiling fan half hanging down, along with the dirty grout in the shower. The one bed had a sag in the middle so only person could sleep on it. The other bed was OK. The electrical outlets, not usable since the anything plugged in fell out. The desk chair fell apart when we went to move it. The conference center itself was very nice. The food for lunch was good. They did bring out pads for the wooden chairs! They brought out hot water but no tea bags? Yet; had ice tea at lunch. So they had tea bags and just didn't put them out. The kicker - we paid for three nights but let them have the room after two nights. They charged an early check out fee for a full night! We should have just not let them have the room early and never said anything!! To charge a full fourth night is outrageous. Next time we will stay at the Hampton Inn and drive to the conference. The Hampton gets 4.3 stars. And the Hampton has a hot breakfast.

The river is just a short walk down a well lit path at night deep enough to wade in with lots of chairs, fire pit and a horse shoe pit. We'll be returning when staying in that area again. She was professional, polite and a pleasure to work with. We used the doggy park for our babies. The site was quiet and beautifully maintained. There were burning bushes planted through out the site that were bright & a sight to behold. The price to stay was reasonable and worth the drive. Go enjoy!

This review is based on my impressions from a visit to the RV park to see family - I have not…read morestayed at the park myself. if you're an RV'er, there's a lot to like about this park. It seems pretty evenly divided between available rental spaces and spaces that are privately owned - many of the privately owned spaces are landscaped and hardscaped. In addition, there are cabins available to rent (this seems unusual to me, but perhaps normal for RV parks?) From my observations on the day we visited, the park was clean and very well maintained - grass and shrubs neatly trimmed. The park has good amenities, including swimming pools and a fitness center...there's also a fairly large clubhouse available to use for special events, but as we didn't go in, I can't speak to the facilities or condition of interior. River Vista is dog friendly, and has an off-leash space for the puppers to play. The location of the park is it's biggest asset - right in the north Georgia mountains so the scenery is beautiful. It's only a few minutes from Dillard, so it's convenient to some local shopping, grocery stores and restaurants. The family members we visited have stayed here multiple times and rate it as one of their favorite places to stay.

We loved the change in scenery going from flat land, to rolling hills, mountains and beautiful trees. It was very easy to find the location and that's saying a lot as I'm TERRIBLE with directions! Upon exiting your car, you instantly feel peace as you hear the waterfalls cascading down rocks and breathe in fresh air. The parking is right next to the cabins which are easily accessible. Our family stayed Sunday - Saturday and we had plenty to do and still missed out on seeing some attractions. We have a large family of 7 and were easily entertained. Some days were spent at the Inn relaxing, floating in the creek with inner tubes, sunbathing on the rocks, or just sitting by the water sharing fun family stories. Many evenings were spent outside grilling, playing cards and outdoor games like corn hole and Jenga. It is relaxing not being in a very touristy area. There are a lot of fun outdoor activities (white water rafting, hiking, camping, lakes, mountain view's) in the immediate area and a short drive to more popular locations like Helen or the Smokies. The housing was perfect, beds were comfortable, the shower water pressure was AMAZING, and rooms were very cool despite coming in the heat of summer. Most our time was spent outdoors enjoying the beauty of the property. At night, everything is lit up with ambient lighting, even the waterfalls! No mosquitos were to be found which was a pleasant surprise. All in all this is a MUST see if you are looking for a great place to stay that's peaceful, beautiful, close to town yet still in the hills. We can't wait to go back!

If you are looking for a relaxing and charming B&B getaway, this is NOT the place. We splurged for the exec suite ($350/night) so we could enjoy the room amenities like fireplaces and bathtub. We were expecting a quaint and low-key B&B experience. However, after numerous mishaps, we would definitely recommend anyone considering this place to look elsewhere.  Punch list of only a few issues: Amenities misrepresented Both fireplaces in room not functional (for years now- yet still advertised on websites) Bathtub had pink mold and hair (not from a head) Sheets not clean and smelled strongly of must Service  Owner and majority of kitchen staff didn't wear masks (during COVID spike) Rushed us out of breakfast so owner could go to Costco (we showed up during the 15 minute breakfast window given) Restaurant staff was unprofessional and/or not knowledgeable of menu items like wine list  It felt like we were an inconvenience to the owner and staff to be there (and we were the only couple there for one of the nights) After our first night, we mentioned the condition of the room to the owner and he contacted someone to clean. When we returned to the room it was much cleaner, thankfully. But it made me wonder if it was even cleaned before, as we noticed the carpet had been vacuumed that day but not before our arrival.  Anyway, the place has potential to be great and hope they can work out the kinks, but until then, there are nice spots for less.

We stayed in the Rushing Waters Treehouse at River Falls at the Gorge and had a fun visit overall…read more The cabin is cute, rustic, and feels fairly new. One of the unique features is that the back deck has large tree trunks coming through the floor and roof. They add to the treehouse atmosphere, although they aren't actual live trees and do sway, so don't plan on hanging a camping hammock from them. One thing to know before booking is that there's a short hike down to the cabin from the parking area, about 1-2 minutes on a downward slope trail with rocks. We packed light, so it wasn't an issue, but it could be an unpleasant surprise for elderly guests or anyone bringing heavy luggage. The treehouse cabin next door, River Pines, has a shorter walk, and the other regular cabins have parking at the cabin. The back deck overlooks the river as well as a few long-term RV sites. There is a path behind the cabin leading toward the river, but the waterfront areas directly behind the cabin are occupied by the leased RV sites. To access the river, walk to the right toward the tubing entrance, or continue past the playground and bathhouse to the main riverfront common area, which is also a convenient tubing exit point. There's parking near the common area, making it easy to bring coolers, chairs, floats, fishing supplies and other gear for an afternoon by the water. The tubing was the main event and very relaxing. The website listing is somewhat vague, but the cabin does include linens (sheets and bath towels), kitchen basics (dishes, utensils, cookware, dish wash basics), a refrigerator, small oven/stove, microwave, toaster, broom and charcoal grill. Bring your own pool towels and shower essentials. A few downsides: there is no fire pit, only 1 parking spot, and the main bedroom mattress has poor support and dips in the middle. Some arcade machines were broken or took quarters without working. The biggest drawback was the value. Our stay came out to more than $600 for two nights after the cleaning fee. The $95 cleaning fee felt steep considering guests are asked to wash and put away dishes, leave the cabin tidy, and take out trash. This price would be worth it if it had designated river access directly behind the unit. The campground is largely RV residential. Overall, it's a unique and enjoyable place to stay, especially if you're visiting nearby Tallulah Gorge State Park. We enjoyed our stay as a one time experience. The front office staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our friends stayed in the honey bear cabin, which was about a 10 min walk from Rushing Waters. Although not as charming or spacious as Rushing Waters, we liked their screened porch, extra bedroom and easy access as you can park right in front of it. Plus, it has a firepit.
