Do not stay at this hotel. Woke up to roach in my bed. While they moved us, there was no refund or even partial refund. Only certain things updated and jetted tub was painted and peeling. No elevator if you have to get upstairs. Short staffed room only cleaned every other day or every two to three days. read more

Absolutely disgusting! Room was not cleaned. Had dirt, toe nail clippings, and pubic hair on tub in the bath room. After crawling around for 5 minutes in the room my 11 month olds knees and elbows were black! The carpet made me want to vomit! Plus no remote for the tv. They charge $125 for this? Only stayed for one night during a multi-state drive due to its location and pet allowance. I was extremely disappointed to find that no employees on property- including the individuals who checked me in and out- were wearing masks. This is stated to be a Choice Hotels policy and was clearly not being followed. Our room's bedding was also not clean- a blood spot/stain on the comforter and hair found on pillows and sheets. Definitely an easy to access spot with easy check in and out- however due to questionable cleanliness and safety measures, I would not stay again. read more

We needed a place to spend just one night with our dog. If we had read the Yelp reviews we would have just kept going. Disgusting! That is all I can say. I didn't feel safe, I checked for bed bugs (thankfully didn't find any) but slept in my clothes anyway. To our surprise.. there was a jetted tub.... but there was no way we were getting in it. Attempted to walk the dog in the morning but first of all there were zero sidewalks and even the dog didn't feel safe in the area. read more

We stayed here coming and going to the ocean. It was the second year and I have to say they're getting better so I'm adding a star. They are in the middle of renovations but it wasn't a problem and the entry/check in is beautiful, much nicer. It's no Hampton Inn but for the price they're great. Comfy beds, clean, and they are pet friendly for a small fee. The employees at this time were also much more professional and very nice. They have a descent free breakfast which is great for getting back on the road. -give them a try if you want the basics for a descent price! read more

I went through literally the worst hotel experience I've ever had at Quality Inn in Athens, AL. I never thought that this level of uncaring could be allowed in hospitality, but Quality Inn defied all expectations there. Roaches were the very least of the issues. My girlfriend and I had to evacuate from Savannah GA in the path of Hurricane Irma. I made reservations at Quality Inn at 6 PM - I paid in advance over the phone, and was given a confirmation number from the clerk at the hotel. We then drove all evening and through the night, and arrived at Quality Inn at 4:45 AM the next morning. I went in first, and asked for the reservation - tired, but politely. The clerk in front, Vedetta, couldn't find out reservation for 20 minutes. The whole time she was searching, she was muttering to herself about how much she had left to do apart from helping me. Frustrating, but no major issue. I told my girlfriend to rest in the car while I waited. She finally called her manager, who had to walk Vedetta how to use the system and print out my reservation, as Vedetta didn't seem to know how. After 30 minutes, she finally handed me my key. Instead of apologizing for the wait, she was quick to remind me that checkout was at 11 AM. I thanked her, a little frustrated at this point, took the key and left for my room. I found my room, opened the door, and immediately noticed a dark spot on the bed. When I walked towards it, it crawled away, as did another spot on the floor. Both cockroaches. I left immediately, now angry that myself and my girlfriend had now waited 40 minutes for a check in after driving 12 hours through the night. I went back to the front, waited for Vedetta to make it back to the front, then told her I needed a refund. I was in no way interested in sleeping with cockroaches all night. She sputtered, then told me she couldn't give a refund. I told her again that I needed a refund, and if I couldn't get that from her, I needed to speak to her manager. She refused both, and instead texted her manager while talking to herself. She sent the text and walked quickly to the back with no more than a few words. I went out to let my girlfriend know what was happening. When I came back, Vedetta informed me that the manager would be by in 1.5 hours, and that was that. I demanded to speak to her manager over the phone, which she repeatedly refused. She then informed me that she'd checked the room and there were no cockroaches. I asked her why I'd lie about cockroaches when myself and my exhausted girlfriend were waiting and needing sleep badly. She responded that there were no cockroaches in the bed. Rinse and repeat. Same exchange three more times. I walked back to the car, and my girlfriend and I called around 16 hotels, looking for any place to stay. Every one was booked full due to hurricane evacuees from Florida. It's light outside at this point, and I've had to ask my girlfriend to try and get some sleep in the car. I've waited three hours, no room, no place to stay, and four hotel employees who all refuse to contact a manager or help in any way. Instead, they all chat about how much work they had last night while my girlfriend is trying to find a gas station restroom, and I sit in the lobby. Waiting again. No one is willing to help, offer a refund or even make eye contact. I didn't think that hotel service could ever be this bad or dispassionate. I've been awake 23 hours now, with no place to take myself and my girlfriend. Thanks, Quality Inn Athens, for making a hurricane evacuation, which we've been preparing for for three days, impossibly worse. read more

Stayed one night here while heading down to Destin. Hotel has been recently renovated and is somewhat still going through the process. The lobby is nice and updated. Gentlemen working the counter is very pleasant. The rooms look pretty good, beds are comfy and clean. I will definitely stay here again on my return trip home. read more

This is a budget hotel in the Choice Hotels International suite of hotels. The hotel was clean and comfortable at a very reasonable price; one of the lowest in the area. They offer a continental breakfast. Our room had a microwave and small refrigerator. The Wi-Fi was very slow and difficult to initiate as well as use. After much persistence, I was able to get our iPhone 6's logged on, but I was never able to get my iPad to connect. There are several chain restaurants nearby. read more

When we came in the first thing we noticed is that there were dead insects on the carpet so we immediately checked for bed bugs and luckily no trace of them (we arrived later at night). We did get the room we wanted but arrived to find that they renovating the place. Not sure if they will be remodeling the rooms though. So the lady at the front desk was nice to hold our hotel even though we missed our check in time and it was all booked out. Later that day i asked for the room to be vacuumed in which they did very well. The day after I asked for extra pillows and towels a s the Caucasian lady in the front was bothered when I interrupted her and her cross word puzzle book. Needles to say we did like the pool, one of the amenities that had nothing wrong with. We did enjoy out stat but could of paid a little bit more for the quality of the rooms. Pictures can tell you a thousands stories about what might have happened lol like the blood stains we found on the stairs or the missing bolts on the rail. Oh yeah, we also noticed a weird electro magnetic field in the rest room and we are not sure if this is safe. read more

They lie about their amenities. They DONT have a gym, They DONT have a business center, and the DONT have a full breakfast. I paid extra for this hotel and it's no better than the super 8 across the interstate. The AC is old and and rapidly clicked all night even when not running. The room smell like old smoke even though it's not smoking. read more

What a nice surprise ! We were driving late and most of the other hotels in town were booked. The young man at the front desk was very pleasant ! The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable ! Well organized room with sink separate from shower area . Lots of mirrors and electrical outlets! First time staying at a Quality Inn! Stayed here on our way to FL. Scary looking on outside - our reaction was oh no this is where we're staying?!? But room was fine. Looks like the room had been remodeled. Nice shutters (unexpected style!) on inside of windows. Sink area attractive. Clean working toilet :), good shower. Decent TV. Very comfortable pillows and beds - slept great. Breakfast good enough to hold us over until we got a few hours on the road. Really not bad. They need to work on beautifying the outside to make better first impression, but surroundings which unfortunately they're stuck with, aren't that great. read more

Can I leave 0 stars? This would be a nice budget facility for those overnight stays on road trips, HOWEVER... My boyfriend (our bad) had left his boots inbetween the bed and the wall so when we once overed the room we didn't see them. It was a late night getting in from Ohio on our way to Orange Beach and an even earlier morning. As we realized that the boots were missing a few hours later that morning, we called RIGHT AWAY. We KNEW exactly where the boots were left. We told them our room #. We said we had just left x hours ago. We said if they had the boots we would be on our way. Well, OF COURSE they didn't find the boots because they were $300 Georgia's. I'm almost positive the cleaning lady snatched them up either for someone whom she knows or for some easy cash since they were nice boots. They swore they looked up and down the room, and we had told them exactly where they were (since it wasn't a very obvious place to look). So yeah- will not be returning. Not very honest people working in this facility. Whatever you do, don't leave something behind by mistake. Especially nothing worth any value. read more

We drove for miles and could not find a hotel with any open rooms. We stopped here and we were a little skeptical but when we opened the door I was so surprised! It was so nice. Had a reservation for this hotel last week. When we checked into the room we were in for a big surprise. We opened the door to see the bedding on the floor, garbage on the counter and the toilet had been used and not flushed. Called the desk clerk and she told me she had no one to clean the room and that there was only one other room available smaller than the one we had booked and we could have it but it was the same price. Clerk was less than helpful or sympathetic. Won't book at Quality Inn again. read more
