The rooms are dated and smell musty, the light fixture didn't work which meant I had to enter the room in the dark. I stayed there specifically for their park-and-ride airport service and even though I arranged for pick up in advance and called them the day of the flight they are still almost an hour late picking me up and the woman I spoke with on the phone was frankly pretty rude about it. The driver as well was less than apologetic, stating that they were understaffed. I ended up having to drive home in the dark, over an hour later than when I was supposed to be able to start my journey, and because of the number of deer out after dark, I had several herds on or near the road which made my 2 1/2 hr drive take over 4. The only reason this place got two stars instead of one is that my car was intact where I left it and for that I was thankful. read more

If I could give a negative star rating to this hotel, I would. The first room assigned to us was filthy! I attempted to call the front desk, but the room phone didn't even have a cord. I used my cell phone to report the concerns and asked for someone to come look at the filth, etc. They refused (there were to people at the desk, and they were NOT busy). The reply I received was well come down and we will give you another room. We went down, I tried to show pictures, but the man refused to even look at them. They were just rude and uncaring. They gave us another room. This room was cleaner, but the light switch in the bathroom had a short in it. There was only outlet access on one side of the king-size bed. This power came from a power strip from the far corner. This outlet also didn't work well as the powers trip plug kept falling out of the outlet. Needless to say, I did not get a good sleep as I was nervous about an electrical fire. I also use a cpap, which meant when the plug fell out, my machine would lose power :( We were never told where or how to attend breakfast either time we were at the desk. FYI, it was at the forest end of the building in a backroom that looked like it was a storage room when the door was closed. The Quality Inn located in Bismarck ND, I strongly recommend not going to this hotel chain in Bismarck. Quality isn't so quality. Extremely-not- good star is given. Friendly, helpful, and professional reception and shuttle service. When I was going back to the reception to let them know about some details, I was noticing the up-keep and cleanliness of the halls and common areas. The mats were dirty and the floors were in extremely need of a vacuum. I had to get another room after I was assigned a room, as when I walked into my first the bathroom was completely filthy. Dirty toilet bowl and seat. Hair in the bathtub. To get into details. The reception was quite apologetic about my ordeal of the state of my room and changed me to a different room. The room that I switched to the new room, it was clear the carpets weren't vacuumed. The bathroom sink wasn't 100 percent clean nor the mirror. Though the room was a step up from the first. Definitely, was not worth the price they charged. The walls were scuffed etc. I've been into many great Quality Inn's so, I was looking forward to another great Quality Inn experience. Dated hotel. Gets the job done, but you could stay at better in Bismarck. Not that far from the airport. About ten to fifteen minutes depending on traffic. Only two flows. Vending machine and Ice on each floor. Rooms are fairly basic. My last stay the water was so soft it was slimey. Wish you didn't ever take a shower gross. Maybe it's the local area but the water at the Comfort Suites is normal. Thought initially it was just my room, but coworkers mentioned it too. My visit I had a double bed and a couch! Could have just placed the bed but cramming extra furniture in the room felt like wasted space and uncomfortable. Desk and mini fridge. Free breakfast downstairs. Had some colorful drug addicts to chat with that early morning as I ate a muffin. A few good reviews but the low star reviews seem to state the same issues. Staff that doesn't care. Poor or non existent cleaning of rooms. Shame being so close to the Capitol and tourism but this place isn't anything special. If this was in the mountains and you were sleeping a night to ski it would suffice. In town for work and trying to get some rest, splurge the extra fifteen bucks and get a real room elsewhere. If everything was full in town I'd take a room here. If the highway isn't closed just drive onto Fargo or Dickinson. Or better yet check Air BnB for Bismarck. This place is pretty lame. read more

Flew in from Seattle to Bismarck. Weas impressed on the cleanliness inside the lobby and professionalism of front desk staff. Room was nice and clean. Hotel is larger than imagined from the outside. Very nice indoor pool in center where inside rooms all have a "pool view". Room was very quiet. 2nd day, had the opportunity to actually meet the owner. I failed to get his name but I could tell with talking to him, he was very proud of his property. The breakfast availble was excellent with a large variety of food from which to choose. Checked in and was told that I was upgraded... the front desk person told me they overbooked and upgraded me... and he offered me drink vouchers. The hotel layout is weird... once you check in, you'll need to go down a set of stairs and from there, the hotel is U shaped, I ended up going to the right, didn't find my room, had to go back to the frontdesk, saw the map of the hotel and finally find my room. The room I was staying overlooked the swimming pool and folks were in there having fun.... the upgraded room? I had two rooms with 3 queen size bed for one person for one night!!! I should slept in each bed every 3 hours, lol. Well, I ignore the other room with the 2 beds, the room was comfortable, but looked bit out dated and too much wood! I moved the sofa and found fries under the seat... I guess the vacuum doesn't bend :( I had comfortable sleep, got up next day, checked out at 6am and off I went to next stop. The staff members were nice, so complaint there... overall not bad, like I said, need better directions to the rooms, upgrade the rooms with less wood and more modern touch!!! read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. The shuttle picked us up at the airport, and didn't even help us lift the suitcases into the van. Walking into the front door, all we smell is weed. Get to our room and it's filthy, stained, & covered in crumbs. Decide to go to the pool, walked in to 50 or more kids (no exaggeration) running around with not a single adult supervising. Towel bins completely empty. When we asked front desk for towels, they admitted the kids were using them IN the pool and swimming with them. Where is the discipline, consequences and enforcement of rules?! Your own customers can't even use the pool because it is unsafe for a baby having the children throwing balls around, almost hitting us several times, splashing us as we walk by, and no towels. Front desk doesn't care one bit about their residents. They are too scared to go enforce the rules that are posted right on the entrance to the pool. DO NOT RECOMMEND. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE... it's got to be better than this. Breakfast is decent, but the sign literally says "shoes required" and again, no one is enforcing the rules because probably 5 people came in without shoes. Incredibly comfy beds and pillows, to the point that I felt I must have been staying in a far nicer chain like Wyndham.... From the outside, this Comfort Inn looks a bit run-down and sketchy: there are potholes in the parking lot, hardly any grass or greenery to brighten the very bunker-like exterior, and the interior is sprawling and a bit dark. I tend to ignore the cosmetic factor, especially when traveling with two dogs: pet-friendly hotels can be difficult to find, but at the same time it's nice to feel you aren't suffering through a stay. Fortunately, that wasn't the case here. Despite having a big and a small dog tucked on either side of me, the bed was so wonderfully soft yet supportive that I slept excellently. I'm also a down pillow fan, and although these pillows weren't down, they felt quite close to it in terms of firmness/softness and were a nice treat. So don't let the outside fool you: if you want a good night's sleep, pull in at this Comfort Inn. read more

This place has the best happy hour in town. $1.20 or so for a tall draft beer? Yes, please. They provide all the weight-gaining popcorn you can eat and there's usually 2 or 3 other snack options (during happy hour). Even when the drinks aren't at a ridiculously low rate, everything is still incredibly affordable and the bartenders pour with a heavy hand (a good thing if you like your drinks with a kick). As an added bonus there's pull tabs and blackjack. In terms of the hotel - I've stayed in a room only once and it was just fine. Nothing over the top but you get what you pay for. When we walked into the room there was a bad smell of mold, the beds weren't made, some of the lights didn't work, the furnace didn't work, the housekeepers missed a ton while vacuuming, and there was a giant spot of pee in front of the recliner. There was no exit map in case of a fire. Which is a must need on the list. The Curtains were broken. And the bed sheets were stained. And the bathroom was disgusting. There were stickers EVERYWHERE. We've also observed employees out in the open just texting on our phones having their phones out using their phones I don't open no matter what time of day when they should be working on pretty sure we're not business-related and why are you for business? The rooms are mediocre at best but they sure like to charge you a hundred plus a night and it's just feels run down and hold don't waste your money here your hard-earned money here when you have many other choices real close by you have Mainstay Inn Suites and even sleep in I think that's the other one on the same property and other choices around town don't do it it's not worth the money on the overtime. And I won't recommend staying at this property for any amount of time. And heaven forbid if you have kids that you ever tried to be Stern and give any kind of discipline to your children in the presence of employees without them thinking you're doing something wrong or mistreating your kids or being abusive when you're not that's another example of Darnell genus and sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. read more

I would not recommend this place. It is bad enough that people are running up and down the halls and yelling, but the staff are terribly noisy after 10pm also. Their hand held walkie talkies are very loud, they joke and talk about rooms in the hallways, with no respect for those sleeping and have to be awake at early hours. I wouldn't use the showers either as there was hair in the bathtub of my room. I had to rinse the bathroom sink because there was fine hairs in it as well. Our rooms were not ready for us when we arrived at around 330pm. We ended up waiting until after 5pm for our rooms, which makes for a very long day when having traveled already since 6am. It was frustrating. Being exhausted from travel, we just wanted to rest. This is definitely not a good place for sleep. The noise continued until around midnight. MINUS STAR RATING if possible! So it turns out the communication between Tammy and myself was really just a waste of time. Although I cannot prove this, I suspect someone is running a scam and embezzling funds/transactions. I was told by Tammy, Front Desk Manager, that they would credit 10% back (which I know would not be much, but something better than nothing). I received the printout from the hotel where it shows the discount and the credit card it was "credited" to. The card # did NOT match the card I provided either at time of purchase, nor time of check in (for incidentals). I checked with the other two parties who I reserved rooms for since it was their rooms that were affected to begin with. Both parties confirmed it was NOT their credit card #'s either nor was a credit posted to their accounts. Now I relayed & presented all this information to Tammy at Quality Inn via voicemail and Email. After a week, I have not received a phone call back on any of this information and discrepancies. I won't fight for the 10% any longer as this has cost me more time & energy than it's worth. However, if it's my 10% (actually 20% for two rooms), how many more patrons/customers are getting ripped off too? Someone is getting those transactions. Although, this isn't luxury, the service and quality amenities make this a very nice stay. The staff is constantly going out of their way to make your life comfortable and convenient. The shuttle service will take you virtually anywhere you need when it's available. I was here back around super bowl time of last year. As one other customer has stated, the rooms feel outdated as if this place was constructed back in the 70s. The bathrooms didnt function 100% well. Aside from that everything else was ok. Couple of restaurants were walking distance very close as I had to brave the unbearable cold while bundled up. Internet doesn't work, had to redo the key every day of the stay, water pipes rattle when room upstairs runs water, reservations were screwed up when I arrived. Thin walls not a place I would recommend to anyone else. Room was expensive for what I got. Had a class in one of the meeting rooms and had to leave the doors open so we would have A/C and had maintenance men fixing something on the other side of the wall so loud that the instructor had to bang on the wall to quiet them down for 5 minutes. We stayed here June 30-July 7, 2010. Pick another hotel if you can. We made reservations for a king size bed, no smoking. We got two queens, smoking. It was awful!! Smelled horrendous. The lighting was so bad in the room, I could barely see to put on my makeup. One day they failed to clean our room after we left at 10 AM. and didn't return until after 9 PM. that night. Folks, this is not the Hilton, but it;s the nicest economy hotel I have ever stayed in. Beds are comfortable, place is clean, wireless works well, and one of the better free breakfasts. This time we had bacon and eggs, waffles, cereal, excellent genuine donuts from a donut shop, better than average OJ from the machine, better than average coffee, and other items I neglected to mention.
