Apparently, there was a Morgan Wallen concert at nearby Clemson University that same weekend, as well as other local events. The main lobby area was nice and cozy with lots of seating. Also, due to this setup, you can only purchase drinks and snacks that are offered in the lobby with cash, since there is no one there to accept a card.

The fitness center was clean and well organized, and the pool and hot tub looked inviting, although we arrived too late to use them since they were already closed. Breakfast was surprisingly better than what we've come to expect at most Holiday Inns, which was a nice bonus. Our room was mostly clean and comfortable. A couple of things stood out, though: there was hair from a previous guest on the shower wall, and one of the couch cushions had quite a few stains on the underside. Also, the TV wasn't centered with the beds, which seemed like an odd design choice but wasn't a major issue. The elevators were a little questionable during our stay, and one was actually taken out of service just as we were leaving. The real standout of this hotel was the front desk associate working when we arrived around 10:30 p.m. She was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. She let us know that if we needed bedding for the pull-out sofa, all we had to do was call, and she would bring it up--which she did promptly with a smile. Even though it was late, she remained cheerful and seemed happy to help. We stay in hotels fairly often, and it's refreshing to encounter someone who provides that level of customer service, especially compared to the more routine overnight staff we often come across. I wish I remembered her name because she definitely deserves recognition. Overall, for a quick overnight stay or even a few nights, this Holiday Inn serves its purpose well. It's a solid option with a great staff, good breakfast, and mostly comfortable accommodations.

I was the sole guest during my 3 day 2 night stay there so felt like I had the whole top floor to myself. The house is an old structure but Karen has made it a cosy and comfy home away from home. My room was well-furnished with a nice size bed and fireplace seating area. This room also had a nice big tub in the bedroom space as well as a doored bathroom with shower. The balcony opened out to views of the street. Nice big spaced room with lots of windows/shades, light and a fan too. No TV here but you do have uninterrupted wifi. Parking is on a lot just across the street and the location is great - this is the closes B&B to the square where all the shops and restaurants are located. Nice quiet neighborhood but still close to historic attractions. Guests can be entertained in the living area downstairs. You get a key to enter and exit the inn as you wish. Fridge on the upper level has water and soda aplenty. Towels, toiletries provided and Karen has lived in the area long enough to provide any info, etc. My stay was pleasant and enjoyable. The quiet and calm provided for some much warranted writing time for me. Rates are really cheap and rooms can be booked over the phone with Karen.

The lunch crew was fabulous with the hot and ready food each day. Quietly and professionally cleaned plates and dishes off our lunch tables as we met with colleagues. The valet crew which is not affiliated directly with the hotel was very good, fast and efficient with vehicle retrieval and helpful with the hard to see the small print on the website pay system. They offer complimentary breakfast which consist of buffet style and typical American breakfast offerings. The Inn is historic and has that look and feel of old time luxury with high ceilings, wood floors, and massive foyer/staircase with beautiful chandelier. They have free WiFi and I was able to get a lot of work done at the desk located in the room, in addition to getting great sleep on their oversized plush king size bed.
