The formerly independent Western Inn at Spanish Fork has joined the Choice Hotels chain and is now called a Quality Inn. The rooms and exterior have been redecorated. The hotel is still being run by the same really nice Asian couple. My reservation was for a 2nd floor room but upon seeing my gray hair the lady offered a ground floor room for no extra charge. They don't have an elevator so I took the ground floor room. My room had a new small refrigerator which was noisy. Their prices are low compared to other hotels of equal quality. The TV was adequate. When turned on it begins with a leftist anti-trump rant from CNN. I found that offensive. The leftist TV apparently comes from a subscription TV service that several hotels now use. It needs to change. I have been staying at this hotel occasionally for about 20 years because it is about half way between my home and where my children now live. It has always been a comfortable stop along the way. There is a convenient gas stop on the corner so car and driver are ready to go the next morning. Now that its been redecorated and upgraded its even better. Over the years their neighborhood has become a lot more developed. A Wal-Mart is just around the corner. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Traffic has become more congested as the neighborhood built up. You still exit I-15 east toward Utah-6/Price. Get in the left turn lane at the first traffic lights. Turn left there and then the first left turn lane on that street. This hotel is barefoot friendly. read more

You get what you pay for. Walking in at 2p.m. someone had just cooked or heated up something stinky. Lobby stunk. Room was as clean as a very old place could be. The bed was clean. We kept our socks on all night because the floors were grimy. Coffee maker broken, Refrigerator made loud clicking noises, drapes covered the air conditioning vents. Large stadium light faced our room. You either got air conditioning or darkness. It needed to be remodeled about 4 years ago!!! Pay a bit more and get a room that does not give you the heebie jeebies! read more

The lobby is dirty and shabby. The rooms have no sound proofing, so we had to listen to conversations in other rooms. I thought people were talking loudly in the hall and opened the door to look out, and no one was out. The noise was coming through the walls. The shampoo caddy was broken and just sitting on the edge of the tub. There are no bathmats, so we had to use hand towels. Bizarrely, the closet rod is only 4 ft off the floor, so good luck hanging anything long. There is no elevator to the second floor. I will never stay here again. read more

This is the second year I have used this inn. It's dated but clean. This is run or owned by the famous Patel family. I used to work with a bookkeeper that was a Patel and she left to help run their inn/motel/hotel business. The only thing different is the carpet appears to have been changed in the room and it so happens that I got the same room I used last year. The breakfast is nothing to write home about but I do love waffles and the only time I get it is when I'm traveling and it's part of the breakfast included with the stay. read more

First and foremost, I did NOT book on line, drove in during a road trip, asked for a room, they were very accommodating. WARNING ... 2 days AFTER my stay, i start getting phone calls from telemarketers who start out saying they understand that i stayed at THIS exact hotel, on the correct date, and proceed to say something else which is when i hang up. The ONLY way for a telemarketer to know i stayed there, is if this hotel is selling customer information. I wonder if credit card & l.D. information has been sold just like my name & phone #. I have filed complaints with Choice Hotels, they don't seem to be too helpful yet. Next step, I'm going to get attorneys involved. I don't recommend ANYONE to risk their info by staying here. read more

I had booked this hotel as it was reasonably priced. Staff was friendly. It is an older hotel that needs some upgrades.

I'll start off by saying, I made a mistake without realizing it. I booked for the night before. When I first checked in, the young man told me we wouldn't have to pay for the previous night, because it was an accident. After checking out the room, there wasn't much toilet paper, and the room smelled musty. My husband is a kind man (kinder than me), and he asked the front desk for an extra toilet paper and an air freshener if they had one. The front desk worker had his AirPods in, watching something, and unapologetically gave him the toilet paper saying "this is all we have." The way the worker interacted with my husband rubbed him the wrong way, but we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. We then went to spend time with my family for the rest of the day. When we came back around 12am to take showers, I noticed the floor of the tub looked as if someone with dirty feet stepped in the tub. Once again, I overlooked it trying to be positive. Then my husband looked at the inside of the shower curtain, and noticed dried snot spattered there. A third time, we decide to overlook it and not complain. Finally, they claim to have queen beds, yet their bed frames stick out extremely far and my husband and I definitely didn't fit on the one queen bed. Our queen bed at home is a couple sizes bigger than that full size bed. A fourth time... you'd think we would learn by then. The next day, we get a call from the front desk asking, and I quote, "Why are you in Room 204? You're supposed to be in room 216." By then, I've had it. I said "Why are you talking to us that way? What do you mean, 'why?' We have a key, and this is the room you gave us!" He says, "No you're supposed to be in room 216." So I ripped him another butthole, because the way he was speaking to us was ridiculous. I asked him, "We're paying $90 for this crappy room that has snot on the shower curtains and you're going to speak to us that way?!" And he says, "Yes, I'm going to speak to you that way." So I yelled, "Well *obscenity* you!" When my husband went down to speak to him, he barely apologized, rather he defended himself saying that I didn't understand him. Apparently the issue was that they moved our rooms, because we "complained" about the toilet paper and smell??? But they never told us. I guess because we were gone all day. But they never left a note, and they never called my phone number (which I gave them) to let us know. When we checked out, my husband went to ask for an invoice just to make sure we keep track of what we're paying for, and the same man (who turns out is the manager) says "Sorry, no invoice." And so my husband said, "fine, we'll dispute the transaction with our bank saying it's fraud if we're charged for unknown fees." Then he decided that there is an invoice and that we're being charged for the night that we didn't show because it was my mistake. While this is true, he blatantly didn't care about our feelings, our pleas, nor the fact that his worker said we wouldn't have to pay for that night. I just can't believe this place cares that little about their customers, but would rather have that extra money. read more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in November. We booked through Priceline and chose this hotel because of the price. Big mistake! It sucks to pay a lot of money just to be in a hotel to sleep and that is all we did. We didn't spend any time in the hotel other than sleeping but still not worth it! This hotel was so dirty, run down, and outdated it was disgusting! It was obvious the carpets have never been replaced, they were very dirty and worn out and even had greasy/oily shoe prints on them. Windows had not been washed in years. Bed sheets had stains on them and there were holes in the walls. The hotel appeared to be owned and run by folks from India that could not speak English and the people who could speak English were very difficult to communicate with. There was an older male Indian gentleman who I assumed was the owner or manager walking around the hotel in his socks checking on things and carrying and drinking a 12 pack of beer. The hotel had very few guests and with as bad as it was I have a hard time believing it will be in business much longer. I would not recommend or stay at this place again! read more

I always stayed at the Quality Inn in Payson UT but decided to stay here this time. If I could give it a -0 I would! My daughter and I checked in, got our room and walked into a nightmare. The room stank so bad I had my daughter to go out to our car and get the Lysol to spray down the room, but the room smell over powered the Lysol. We checked out the bathroom and was in for another shock. The bathtub was tiny and you couldn't tell the tub from the mold. I told my daughter that we would checkout in the morning and get a new hotel, I also told her to sleep on TOP of the covers because I was to afraid to see what was there. The morning we were checking out, I noticed the maids weren't changing the sheets in other rooms. When we were checking out and get a refund for the next 2 nights; I was told I couldn't get a refund because those 2 nights had already processed in their system. When we were checking into the new hotel, my daughter realized she forgot her Uggs. We went to get them but the hotel said that the room was cleaned and new patrons were in the room and there was no way to check, apparently they don't have a "lost and found" so we took it in the butt. Now I have to have my husband dispute the charges. This hotel is francised so I can't go to "Corporate". I was so pissed off, I had to leave or they would have called the police! read more

Stayed there 1 night. Found a live bedbug in bathroom. Didn't find any in the bed and we were so tired and it was late we stayed. in the morning I noticed there were 3 canisters of bedbug and roach killer spray on the cleaning cart as I walked by. I advised the front desk of our finding and again noticed a canister on the front desk. She did not appear to be surprised and no compensation was offered. I would not recommend this hotel until the entire building is fumigated as I do not think this is an isolated incident. read more

This hotel is run by a very nice couple. As a female traveling alone - I felt very safe. All staff were helpful, it was clean and nice. It is near everything (stores and restaurants and even COSTCO!) COSTCO has is the cheapest in town. There is a gym as well as a computer out in the lobby for guests to use. Also a washer and dryer on site. The morning breakfast is nice - not just Continental muffins and pastries. The bed was very comfy and I got a great rate. read more

Actually, there should be a NEGATIVE RATING for this crap hole! The owner ATTACKED me verbally when I was waiting for my family in the lobby . I just brought down the cheap towel rack that fell out of the wall. This was AFTER the shelf fell out of the wall. They screwed it into ONLY the drywall. I didn't complain I just, out of courtesy, brought the towel rack to them, and apologized, though I KNEW it wasn't my fault. But the owner threatened to call the police and started yelling at me. Anyway THIS IS A NIGHTMARE ESTABLISHMENT. Hateful, rude owners who attack guests for stuff that they have neglected to take care of is worthy of being prosecuted! read more

After traveling for appx 700 miles, traversing Valley of Fire in Nevada, the Fillmore Courthouse and couple other spots along the 15 between this motel and disneyland... You can bet your butt this was a great break. Considering my goal for the next day was to make it to the western border of the famous rocky national forest with a bunch of spots in between such as the western rail museum, dinosaur national park and the thousands of historical markers from here to colorado to omaha nebraska. I considered camping out somewhere but it cost only $50 to crash and wash up the night i stayed. The location was difficult to get too cause it was dark as hell and the parking is accessed through the side streets. The walmart was convenient to stock up on stuff. The room was decent sized. Bathroom and shower could be better presented. The heater and a/c sucked. I couldnt find my sweet spot so i just made it colder and wore a sweater. The conti bfast is a joke. Dont bother. The coffee is beyond gross and all that. The restaurants around here suck too so your kinda stuck with mcdonalds. The service and host was pleasant. We chatted a bit before he realized i was delusional from traveling. If need be i will come back! The motel is appx one hour south from salt lake city. My travels put me on hwy six but ive been to slc plenty to know my utah geography. SLC has all the two to three star hilton like hotels for $150 if thats your thing. Safe travelings! read more

well we were coming back from wyoming and gave the Western Inn a try. This is a family run hotel and they were all so friendly and engaging. I even got to meet the children of the manager and they were very nice albeit a bit shy. The room was very clean and was comfortable for us. the hotel is very close to any goodies you might want, coffee, drugstore, market, and gas were all close by. This was a handy hotel as we cruised on our way to Vegas. Seems good to me. I would go back. read more

We stayed for here for a funeral, & our nerves were on edge. The staff didn't know that, but we found them to be exceptionally kind & thoughtful. They ran ahead to hold the door for my wife (she's disabled), & asked if our room was comfortable several times. The room was well set up for accessibility. The breakfast area was clean, well stocked & appealing: yogurt, cereals, breads, milk, pastries, coffee, cocoa, juice, oranges, etc. The front lobby had a coffee counter with tea, coffee, & decaf available, & was very handy for us. It was a perfect place for us to de-stress & sleep for a couple of nights. We look forward to staying here again! read more

When we booked our room, Quality Inn allowed dogs- when we got here after driving over 10 hours- the front desk claimed no pet policy- when I showed him the information that said pets were allowed he started yelling and getting hostile. I wish I could give it half a star or less! DO NOT STAY HERE! Scott the man with the mustache and glasses was a absolute nightmare! So my girlfriend and I were headed from Salt Lake to St George and ran into a snow storm, it was to heavy to drive in so we stopped in Spanish Fork to grab a room for the night. This motel was right off the freeway and we decided it would do even at $85 a night. After dealing with Scott who was about as nice as getting stung in the face by a scorpion, we ventured into our double queen room. We unpack our bags and I get ready to take a shower, walking into the bathroom I almost felt as if I needed to put my shoes back on, absolutely disgusting! Hair on the floor and toilet and piss stains all over!!!!!!!! My girlfriend yells at me to come back in and take a look at something, she pulls the top sheet of the bed down to find a tissue or wipe of some kind with blood on it! ARE YOU SERIOUS?????????!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE FUDGED UP BIO HAZARD ESTABLISHMENT ARE YOU RUNNING???? but wait there's more... next to this bloody tissue we find lovely strands of black hair all over the bed! GROSS!!! I throw my shoes on and snap a few pictures to show our lovely friend Scott. As I walk over calmly and show him the pictures, he starts fumbling and looking through the logs on who cleaned the room last.. DUDE, I could give CRAP who cleaned the room last FIX MY PROBLEM! He tells us he will move us to another room but at this point I was ready to go. I tell him I'm going to go ask my girlfriend what she wants to do. She's pissed and wants some of our money back, this is definitely not worth $85.00 a night! I agree and go back down to talk to Scott. It was already 12:15 and we had no idea where the nearest hotel was, I was fine with switching rooms and told him I just wanted to get some money back based on what's happening. Honestly I shouldn't even have to ask, but this is not acceptable. He looks up at me and says "you know what, I don't like your attitude your out of here" sounds good to me Scott just make sure you throw that money back on my card. He agrees and I head off to pack our stuff. On our way out I ask his name, he ignores me and I ask again his response "what's your name"? I respond with its on that piece of paper I signed when we checked in HAHAHA! What? What the??? Lol crazy! Well we ended up about 5 miles north of OUR RAT HOLE off the freeway and stayed at the Days Inn. Great experience and much cheaper! read more

We had an accessible room as my wife needs a wheelchair for traveling distances. Everytime we returned they always talked to us and asked if we needed anything. The breakfast his good choices. Room was clean and comfortable but smelled funky. We opened the window and door for a while and it was better. The location is good..close to Walmart and restaurants. The tub wouldn't hold water so went to front desk for a stopper where I was ignored by a middle eastern woman who was talking on the phone to someone in an animated (laughing) conversation in another language...when a stood directly in front of her and tapped my room key she acknowledged me and said we would have to shower. This motel is okay for a low budget single nights sleep. But you'd be better of seeking lodging elsewhere if your staying a few days. read more

Quality Inn here in Spanish Fork has been an amazing stay for me! This is my third night in a row and I've stayed in a different room each night. Each room has been great, especially the King bed suite, and the hospitality has also been amazing. The breakfast selection is the best I've had in years. After driving 10 hours my family and I stopped to get a room. We have dogs and I noticed there was a sign on the wall saying pets were not allowed in the rooms or on the property. When I told the gentleman behind the counter I would like a room for the night, he asked if we had pets, I said yes. I also said that I notice they weren't pet friendly and that the dogs would be staying in the back of our canopied truck for the night, he said NO, they weren't allowed on the property. Subject to a $250 fine. I told him we would not be staying then and left. A few miles down the road in Payson, the Quality Inn gladly gave us a room, pet fee of course, dog treats and doody bags. We were super happy and we would definitely stay again! read more

I stayed at this hotel on June 29 2019 using Choice hotel rewards points. The hotel it self is fine. However their hotel or the choice hotel system has been hacked. Just after checking in, I received a call on the phone in the room. The person calling knew my name, room # and claimed to be the manager. He stated that the computer system for the hotel had crashed and he needed to update my information. The short of it he wanted my credit card information. When I told him it was on the check in printed page that I signed at the front desk he hung up on me. I went to the front desk and they stated they had not called me. But they did say they knew of the scam attempts and that it had been happening at other Choice Hotels as well. I spoke with several guest at breakfast and several of them had also gotten the scam call as well. In every case the caller knew the guests name and room number. This shows that its either a Choice employee or the choice hotel computer system has been hacked. What ticks me off about this is the hotel staff knew it was happened but did nothing to warn the guess. A simple sign stating that hotel person would NEVER ask for person data over the phone would have been helpful. read more

The officious a-hole at the desk was condescending about explaining the wi fi and the "continental breakfast" was a joke! the people above us were making noise late at night and the desk clerk did nothing about it. I am disappointed with the customer service at this location. I called (spoke to a nice women) and explained that I was trying to book a room with my card for my sister and she instructed me to book through Expedia and book the room in my sister's name so she could provide her drivers license and it wouldn't be an issue. I did that and when my sister tried to check-in, there had been a shift change and a man who spoke very little English would not allow her to check-in. When I got on the phone with him he would not stop interrupting me while I was trying to explain what I was told to do by the other employee. He got really nasty with me and started saying I had to put an additional $100 security deposit down because I hadn't put anything down for the room. I said "then what was the money I just paid through Expedia?" He said that does not offer him security and I had to do a separate deposit. I have used Expedia countless times and have never had this problem. I have also never had a hotel receptionist be so rude. read more

I booked two separate rooms for two gentlemen and received confirmation. When they checked in, they were told that the hotel was full and would only be given one room but that it had two beds. They asked about the second room and were told it wasn't available. After getting to their ONE room, they found that their keys didn't work and had to return to the front desk a couple of times before they could get into the room. The lights didn't work and flickered through the night. The toilet was running the entire night. They turned the tap(s) on the faucet and they were broken, making use of the sink impossible. When they arrived in SLC the next morning, they told me of their "adventure". I felt terrible that they'd had such a bad experience, since the ratings I'd read online had been positive. A little later in the day, I received an email from Western Inn saying, "Call me" with a name and phone number. I think the name was Alan but can't remember for sure. There was no other information in this email. I thought, "Wow, professional!" I called and was told by the gentleman (Alan?) that we'd had a no-show the night before and would be charged for the room! I tried to explain to him that they had both shown up and were specifically told there weren't enough rooms and they'd have to stay together. I didn't and still don't think I should have to pay for the room when they were told they couldn't have it. He was rude and told me "Good luck with that, I've already charged your card." He then hung up on me. I have people traveling in this area throughout the year and will definitely NOT be recommending the Western Inn. Not only was their stay bad, but the treatment that both my guests and I have received during this is completely unprofessional and definitely not customer service oriented. Was not impressed with a room full of ants. Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Also the keyed door lock doesn't work so they lock the door at night. Never heard of self check in at night. Definitely not the safest place to stay Saw and was told the police are there all time. Beds are very hard to sleep on. Staff is less than desirable although there were a select few that tried their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I would not go there again unless I had no choice. read more
