Sadly, the quality has significantly gone down with this company... so much so, that I can't say that I feel comfortable referring them to anyone who expects appointments to be kept, as well as their furniture to arrive undamaged. I used them two years ago and had a fantastic experience, but this one definitely fell short. I scheduled my move for 10 a.m. and received a text message at 2 a.m. the morning of my move rescheduling my appointment for later that morning. There was no explanation given in the automated message, and suffice it to say I was not happy (in addition to the automated message, I would have appreciated a quick mail explaining the reason for the reschedule, and offering me some sort of compensation for the inconvenience). I was even more unhappy when they arrived later than the rescheduled time. The movers worked very hard and given the number of steps and the amount of belongings, I felt that the amount of time the move took was acceptable. However, what made me most unhappy about this experience was the condition of my furniture when it arrived... and the subsequent lack of response. Before and after the move, they do a "walkthrough" to look at your furniture, note any pre-existing damage, as well as any damage that was sustained during the move. In theory it is a great idea, but in practice it was pretty pointless. It's almost impossible to thoroughly perform that task when there are boxes and bags all over the place, and you can barely move around in the house. The day after my move, as I'm unpacking and reorganizing my furniture, I noticed some damage to a few of my items. My bar suffered significant damage on both sides, to the point where some of the wood has been completely chipped off. One of my living room chairs had a really bad scratch on one of its back legs, and my dresser got a pretty bad scratch on the bottom. (Maybe the furniture was not wrapped properly. I don't know). I contacted the company immediately to inform them of the damage. In response, I was reminded of the walkthrough and was told that the owner would get back to me. He never did. The reason I chose to give repeat business to Jason and his company is because it was a small business run by a guy who really seemed to care about his customers, and wanted to do a good job at a great price. Since then, the prices have gone up, and the service (in terms of getting my items into my home undamaged) has gone way down. Moreover, this company has consistently demonstrated difficulty properly managing scheduled moves. This move was delayed because a job they booked the day before went longer than expected. My first move with this company was also delayed because Jason booked two jobs too close together and the job before mine also took longer than he expected. These delays should not impact the customer... and if they do, then the customer should be compensated for it. Otherwise, if you see you're getting behind, bring in some extra guys, and do what needs to be done to get to the next job on time. I really liked doing business with this company the first time and was hoping for a repeat performance. Sadly, that was not the case, and as a result, this will be my last time doing business with Quality Movers. read more

Quality movers?? How about unqualified movers! Where do I even start? First red flag; after receiving a reasonable quote over the phone, I asked about paying a deposit. Jason told me that I didn't have to pay one. I thought that was strange because I had never experienced that with a "professional" moving company. Initially, I just wanted them to load and unload my own moving truck. Then, the day before my move I decided that I would use their full services. Jason told me that it was not possible because it was last minute. Ummmmm, what type moving company does not have trucks available?? I don't care if it was the morning of. You're a moving company for goodness sake! So I'm like whatever. I did wait last minute I guess. Anywho, they showed up 20 min late but I didn't trip about that. A couple of hours into loading the truck, I notice a car has been outside all the while with a lady sitting in it staring me down. Astonishingly, it was the mover, Jason's wife! It must've been bring your wife and kids to work day and I clearly didn't get the memo. They literally loitered in front of my building for the entire 8 hour move (yes, I said 8 hours!) in the car waiting for them to finish. Why couldn't they stay home and he just come with the car? She was their ride. Seemed kind of fishy. Like did either of the movers not have a license? PEOPLE BEWARE. That could be a liability to you if your mover isn't licensed or insured. So after unloading the truck, Jason wants to talk fees. He came up with this outrageous fee that he calculated in his head. He wanted me to pay 30% more than what we initially agreed upon, based on a whole bunch of hidden fees that were not discussed during the initial quote. I was completely in shock. The audacity of this man to charge such an excessive amount with everything that transpired throughout the day. Let's go through the list of horrible things: 1.) I had to provide my own truck. 2.) He was late. 3.)He brought his wife and kids to work. 4.)They took FOREVER!! 5.) I had a truck with more than enough room and they didn't load the truck properly. I had to make several trips after the "move" in my car to finish getting my stuff. 6.)They tore the walls and doors to the brand new apartment so now I have to pay for painters. 7.)They tore up the deck to the patio which will require a paint job also. 8.) Scratched the top of my dryer that I was planning to sell (now it has rusted :/ ) 9.)Annnnd his wife's car battery died and she asked for a jump. 10.)They also took the liberty to help themselves to some of my stuff that I had off to the side for disposal. I expressed my grievances about the fee and that I was not paying that outrageous amount (HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A TRUCK! ), which upset him. So guess what he does next? HE STOLE THE KEYS TO MY RENTAL TRUCK!!! I called and messaged his phone and asked him for the key with no reply. I finally had to just call the police. It was a complete nightmare. I have NEVER experienced anything like this before. I've used more reputable moving companies for less the time and half the cost. I'm so shocked at all these five star reviews. My experience was HELL. Moving is never a walk in the park -- I hired movers to make my life easier and this was the complete opposite. Quality was horrible they are not reliable or dependable and they treat your things like junk. They left without finishing came back with a third man and charged me for him. This was not in the original quote nor was it told to me until the end. My husband came out to see what was going on and they were standing around mind you they charge hourly. I chose Quality movers after researching three different moving companies in the surrounding area. Quality movers ended up being the cheapest and also were well reviewed on Yelp, so I went ahead and chose them. We had a fairly straightforward move, from a 3br condo to a 2br 1st floor apartment about 10 min away. I got a fast response from Jason after asking for a quote on Yelp and was able to schedule our move for the date and time we wanted, 8am on a Saturday morning. A couple of weeks later, I received a call from the owners wife (Kim, I believe) asking if we could change the start time to 7:30 AM. No problem. However, the day before the move, I received another call asking if we would be willing to have 3 men do the job that day instead of the quoted 2. The cost would be an extra $40 an hour but I was ensured that it would actually save money since they would get done much quicker. I agreed. The morning of, I received a phone call a few min before 7:30 letting me know that they were running late because they couldn't get a truck in time. This set off a red flag to me but I went along with it, despite being annoyed that we had woken up an hour early for nothing. Also, I was asked how I would be paying, my options were credit card with a $30 processing fee (which was never mentioned beforehand) or cash. The movers ended up started at 9 AM, 1.5 hours late. To top it off, the third gentleman they sent to assist the job showed up incoherent, smelled of alcohol and was barely assisting the other two workers. He spent most of the day wasting time, arguing with his coworkers, slowing them down and causing issues in general. I expressed this on the phone to Kim that why was I paying for an extra guy when he wasn't even helping or making the day go faster? She said she would send him home and send another employee out to finish. I would give Quality movers one star, but am giving them an extra because the two employees (Corey and I think Anthony) who did most of the work were courteous, professional and worked really hard. We had minor damage to a couple items and the move ended up taking 5 hours, which is what I was quoted for just having two movers. The only concession I got was the $30 fee did get waived, since I complained that they were late and also about the third mover situation. read more

We had an extremely complicated situation on our hands regarding our move, which had to be canceled/rescheduled several times due to issues with a leasing company. Jason was so understanding each time and treated us well. I can't imagine how frustrating it is to have a client reschedule as much as we did, but Jason never let that show and was always willing to make everything work for us. We regret that we never went through with the move with Quality Movers. Other circumstances caused us to cancel it altogether. But for any future moves, Jason will definitely be the first person we contact. I live in Maryland just moved counties and this moving company came to my home, it was 3 people we agreed on 3 hours. One of the men was standing around and couldn't be bothered to listen to any instruction from his boss. He starts complaining to me about how heavy things are, leaving my property where he wanted despite my asking him where to place my property in my new home; they didn't know how to unhook a water line from a fridge and ended up unhooking it anyway and flooding my kitchen. They were constantly arguing, about how to work where to put things and the fact that the one man didn't want to listen, on top of that; that same man begins flirting with me. He demanded i repark my car which had an accident just yesterday and i hadn't had the chance to change the tire so it couldn't be moved without more damage to my property, he pushed so much that he ended up changing the tire himself so i could re park my car. They constantly slammed my furniture against things including the concrete. They dinged almost everything and broke my refrigerator. Which one of them acknowledged and agreed happened because he took the cover off of my freezer panel and broke the circuitry. The boss took my tv holder off of the wall that i did not need, we agreed that he would take down the correct one from my room, and then he said he didn't have the correct wrench to do it so then he said he would go to Home Depot off of the clock and then after we take all the time to agree on this he says there's an additional fee to affix tvs to walls. Then he was on the phone for an hour while his team slung boxes. He decided to charge me a heavy item charge, they were reasonably priced before they added tons of fees, and broke my property read more

These movers broke our television during the move and tried to hide it. Fortunately we noticed it before they left. They promised to replace it and have been making empty promises to deliver said "new television" for the past 2 months. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but two months with no tv.... this is just ridiculous. read more

It was a very disappointing and very unfortunate first move experience . I received a reasonable quote with reasonable number of hours for my 1 bedroom apartment. The move then actually took double the time, up to 9 hours! and off course the price jumped to double the amount. I mean even a two bedroom apartment wouldn't need this time!! The guys could have worked harder and managed their time more wisely (probably take less breaks!! ) to successfully meet the customer's satisfaction. The guys seemed very tired after few unloads which just dropped down the performance significantly. We even ended up helping them loading and unload the truck to save some time! I wonder how long would they take if we did not give a hand!! I spoke to the manager 'Lucky' regarding my concerns, and he simply sided his men, without considering my concerns! I believe managers should consider the customers' feedback and aim for their satisfaction! The only good thing I had with them was that the furniture was unharmed, except for a china cabinet wood which was scratched. I would honestly NOT recommend this company for anyone, as I only appreciate honest hardworking men who are up for the job and take a reasonable time for the move... I have always been skeptical about hiring movers after hearing horrible stories from family and friends in the military. Being pregnant though, I had no choice this time. So after serious research around the area, we decided to give Quality Movers a chance. I was extremely happy, from the quick response for a quote, to the highly professional service that they provided. We moved from an apartment on the fourth floor, into a 3 story townhouse. Jason and his colleague worked nonstop without a single break for 8 hours handling our furniture very delicately. Nothing got broken and even after getting to our 3 story townhouse, they put boxes accordingly to which floor they were marked. I told him I had very little time, alot of furniture to move and very limited space to store my things in. I then explained that it would be a very difficult move, with tight corners and limited access. I used Jason's company two times in about a two week period (one to move my stuff out and into storage and the other to move out of storage into my new place- there was an unfortunate time gap between places). They were on time each of the scheduled times for moving. Needless to say He damaged some pieces of mine and told me I had his word he would replace them.
