We were in a huge bind. We needed to move, but whatever could possibly go wrong had gone wrong. Long story short, we had to downsize ASAP and simply couldn't do it by ourselves. We asked Stew's Junk Runners for help on very short notice for a combined move AND junk removal, which is a hefty task. Stew's took it on with a great attitude and took care of everything for us for a reasonable price. Stew's Junk Removal is a relatively new local business, but their customer service is awesome, they work tirelessly to get the job done, and they know what they're doing. They were running late due to issues out of their control regarding a truck rental, but they gave us a call to let us know and kept us updated. They arrived with plenty of blankets and cling wrap for our large items (TV, mattresses, desks, shelving) and even more motivation. They worked so hard loading our things into the truck in the heat. They handled everything with care; absolutely nothing was broken or damaged in any way, including our delicate flatscreen TV and glass stand. We have dealt with other moving companies who rushed to get things into the truck and did a careless job, but with Stew's we really felt like our stuff was in good hands. Plus, our old apartment AND new apartment were both on the third floor, so you can imagine how many stairs they climbed. But they never once complained. They simply smiled, made a funny comment about not needing the gym, and carried on! After unloading our things into our new place, Stew's returned to the old place to remove the junk, which was 10x worse. There was A LOT of stuff: a couch, a large desk, an even larger TV stand, chairs, an extremely heavy dining table, two coffee tables, dusty cardboard boxes, an exercise bike, a big scooter, a box spring, and about a million trash bags. We had no clue how so much had accumulated over the years, but it had and we needed to downsize majorly. This was a huge project. By this time, they had already done our move and we knew they were exhausted. But - you guessed it - there was not one complaint. They took everything with the most positive attitude and professionalism. We were left with a completely empty apartment right on time. I cannot express how much I appreciate the hard work, humility, and friendliness Stew's showed us, especially during such a stressful time. There is absolutely no way we could've gotten out in time without them. I strongly recommend them for junk removal and moving services. From a scale of 1-10 with 10 being outstanding, I would rate Marc's company a 20. Marc's fee is competitive with the other 2 quotes I received; his customer service is phenomenal. Marc and Wayne did an in-house move for me, and they went above and beyond. My sofa is very large but Marc and Wayne found a way to get it through the stairwell and door. One of my book shelves had broken screws and thus the tiers couldn't be taken apart, but they found a way to move it. I'm particular about things and asked them to shift my heavy bookshelves back and forth several times, and they were very accommodating, while remaining super pleasant. Let me start by saying Marc and his guys are amazing! I have nothing but positive things to say about Stews Junk Runners. I contacted Marc a month before my move to get a estimate on my move. The estimate he provided me was the most reasonable out of every other moving company in this area. Fast forward to the week of my move, as Marc promised he contacted me the Monday before to lock in our date and time for the move. He was prompt in responding to me whenever I reached out to him for any questions regarding my move. That right there is already a plus for me. The morning of my move, now keep in mind it was humid and 90 degrees, that did not stop them at all. They told me that they were going to be at my place by 10a, and they showed up right on time. They got to work right away and strategically packed the truck up with all my stuff (1bd/1br apt). The disassembled and reassembled all my furniture. Marc Stewart, the owner, reached out to my husband and I immediately after we submitted their online quote request form. He was kind, knowledgeable, and highly organized. He answered all of our questions and never once left us wondering about any part of the moving process. He arrived on move-in day promptly with two other employees. They conducted a preliminary walkthrough of our home and communicated with us about the process, to ensure that our expectations aligned with their services. I can tell you with confidence that they FAR exceeded our expectations. They cared for our furniture AND our home as if they were their own. They used blankets to protect our floors and carpeting, wrapped EVERY SQUARE INCH of fragile furniture, and protected our mattress like it was the Ark of the Covenant. I cannot begin to convey the amount of effort they put forth protecting our belongings. I would also like to point out that during the walkthrough, we told them which pieces of furniture we would not be taking and they remembered everything perfectly. I also can't fail to mention that our move was during COVID. They wore gloves and face coverings the entire time they were in our presence. They never removed them - not even to wipe a bead of sweat from their faces. Their insane level of strength was also mind blowing. I can barely blow-dry my hair without getting winded and these guys were carrying kitchen tables like they were lighter than Q-tips. They WORKED AT LIGHTENING SPEED even though they charge an hourly (and incredibly competitive) rate. They emptied our townhouse and completely unloaded at our new home, which was an hour away, in less than 4 hours. WHAT?! The gods walk among us. Their work ethic was extraordinary - there's no doubt - but they were also professional, polite, and a genuine joy to work with. We totally forgot about the storage we had under the stairs until they were doing the final walkthrough. They thought they were finished and here we are opening a creaky, old door to cardboard box hell, but they didn't even bat an eye. They took it all in stride and cleaned that space faster than Tangina Barrons in Poltergeist. Moving had me at a legitimate "Captain Sully landing the plane" stress level, but these guys relieved it all. It gave us so much peace knowing that Stew's Junk Runners had us covered.
