Lawrence, Matthew, and Tim were fantastic! When I spoke with Lawrence, I told him about previous bad experiences with movers; he assured me this wouldn't happen with iMovers. Matthew and Lawrence showed up right in time. They helped me move the UHaul in front of the building. I needed help packing the last quarter of my belongings (although I had said I wouldn't need packing help- wishful thinking!). Lawrence devised a plan, helped me pack, and Matthew started getting things out of the apartment for more space. I had requested three men but someone had called out. However, iMovers called another guy who promptly arrived and was able to stay most of the day. They took apart my furniture, reassembled it (much better than me when I had last done it solo!), packed the truck like a winning game of Tetris, and drove it to the new place. I had asked for 8 hrs but it took 10. They never questioned leaving early. They took special care in placing the furniture, too, which was very much appreciated. Additionally, they made moving kind of fun: they are all very personable, laughed a lot, and were very kind to my daughter who fancied herself moving help. I requested three movers but due to the craziness of Covid-19, only two showed up. The company did let me know the day prior and assured me that they would get the job done. Despite being down one person, Matt and Lawrence were phenomenal! They moved my two-bedroom townhouse into a 16ft POD within 2.5hrs. They arrived earlier than my requested time, were very helpful and organized my POD according to Tetris game skills. I was extremely impressed. My 12-year old had a blast as they were super fun and chatty the entire time they worked which made the move go much quicker than we anticipated. OUR MOVING NIGHTMARE Around August 20, reached out to All-Pro movers and spoke with Rachel. My wife spent over an hour going through the entire house trying her best to explain everything in the house in detail. My wife was surprised that there was not a walkthrough or a video call. I repeatedly asked if Rachel needed dimensions for certain items, to which Rachel replied, "No honey, I'm good. We got you". Needless to say, come to find out the estimate was underbid by over 10,000$. We stated that the military would only pay 15,000$ and that we didn't want to go over that much. We would not have utilized this company if they would have given us a real estimate. The FMCSA ( Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ) regulates interstate movers and calls companies like this "Rogue" movers. They give an estimate and then hold your goods hostage so that you have no choice but to pay or they won't give your stuff back. I have direct text messages where I asked that exact question if they were going to hold our goods hostage. We were promised that they would show up on August 27 or the 28th at the latest. The movers showed up on the 29th. They promised us that we would be done by Monday Aug 31. When the first truck left on Monday, more than half the house was still in boxes and almost the whole bottom floor had not been packed yet. We were told two things, that the mover would pick up another truck the next day and that he would directly drop off the first truck in Fl, considering my wife had already left due to her report date in Fl. Neither of these happened; the second truck did not show and the first truck went to Fl and the goods were put in storage. At this point is where all the shifting by both companies started. We were never told that we would be charged an additional 4000$ to All-Pro for their broker fees. All-Pro gave the contract to I-mover ( which I believe is out of FL ). I-mover is the company that would not release our goods unless we paid, and we had never agreed to the amount of money. At this point, we had not even heard a new estimate, At all! So you can imagine the surprise when we heard a new estimate of over 24,000$. When the second set of movers showed up late Tuesday evening September 1st, we were already into having to pay a prorated rate for rent, which was 4,200$ a month. To save time I will just say the first set of movers broke things, which were not reimbursed ( which we have already moved on ) and they spent a lot of time talking. So we paid for three out of four workers to hang out for two days and get paid. It took three workers an entire day to finish my daughter's room, which did not have much at all, and a craft room where most of the goods were already in boxes and just needed shrink wrap. I also still have yet to find my daughter's ipen which I had in my personal bags and two months later I still can't find, so I believe it was stolen since I did leave my personal stuff out of my view for hours at a time. The second set of movers would not even start until we paid them 4000$, and we had already paid close to 10000$, 8000$ of which was in a money order. Half of our house was not packed and the other half was in boxes and this is when I-movers started to hold our goods hostage. I had explained we had never agreed to over 20000$ for our move. I was berated by one of the movers that it was my fault and that I made a mistake and underestimated. When I say berated, I am saying this mover aggressively confronted me yelling at me that it was my fault. Beyond unprofessional is an understatement. The second set of movers, after we were ripped off, went about their job and had to rent another two trucks. We had to pay the third truck another 4000$ and we had asked every single day that we needed weight tickets, which they still haven't provided. They gave us a basic ticket, not one from the truck. When I saw the mover in Fl, he again was yelling at me in front of the local workers that he had hired ( I have contact info for these guys if it matters ). At this point, we wanted our property and for the movers to be out of our life. We were repeatedly lied to about times and dates all the way to the last minute. Box after box that we opened was under packed, and many things were broken. We were promised that we could get reimbursed for these things which still hasn't happened and at this point, we do not expect that it ever will. We have also found many things to be missing. Things that have been in the family for many years. To say this was the worst experience is an understatement. We were lied to, ripped off, and abused. read more

I booked with Matthew from imovers on May 21 via email (he told me I didn't have to book via the uhaul website, which is where I found them). Come week of the move, I reached out to them via email two days beforehand to confirm. No reply. I then texted them a day before the move to confirm, and I receive a reply saying that they didn't officially put me on the schedule and now they are unavailable. What a load of crock. If I could give zero stars - I would. Please, if you are reading this review, know that this is a company out to scam clients and take advantage of the fact that moving is an emotional and high-stress experience. This company is NOT an accredited Better Business Bureau operation, and has had several lawsuits in the past year (I also intend to take legal action against them). They operate by offering incredibly low quotes by convincing you that your belongings are low in cubic square footage, obtaining your deposit, and it's the last you'll hear from them. They then pass you off to other moving companies who will continue the scamming process. My full experience is detailed below. If anyone else is willing to take legal action, please feel free to respond to this request and we can connect. IMovers arrived over a month ago to load up my small, one-bedroom apartment for a cross-country move. I had been quoted $3,100 for the entire move, including loading and unloading, transportation, and disassembly/re-assembly of furniture given the small size of my apartment and amount of items on the inventory I'd provided. When packing, I was too nervous to even meet the quota of items I'd given on the inventory, and ended up donating way more furniture just to be 100% sure I met the cubic square footage that I'd been quoted for. The movers seemed friendly upon arrival, packed everything up and loaded the truck. Once the team loaded my furniture, they claimed it was 500 cubic square feet more than what I had been quoted for, but they refused to let me see into the truck to verify the final cubic square footage. For all I know, there could be another client's belongings in the truck as well, they could have not stacked any of the boxes, etc to intentionally take up more space and thus charge me more. When I asked to speak with the manager to get approval to see the final packed truck, the driver blatantly said, "If you want to play it that way, I can charge you even more," indicating that the price I would be paying was not based on anything other than his mood in the moment. As a young, single woman moving across the country, I was absolutely being taken advantage of by this company and they were actively using intimidation once they were in possession of everything I owned. The new price that I was charged for by the end of moving day was $6,000 - nearly twice what I had originally signed in the contract. Since their departure, I have received several calls from iMovers with additional requests and charges outside the realm of what I'd agreed to in the contract. "Customer service" has been rude and demanding, and unable to explain where the additional fees are coming from besides citing the "additional cubic square footage" which I have been completely unable to verify. As of now, the amount I would expect to pay is $7,000 with these additional fees, and that's assuming they don't demand more additional money upon delivery of my items. This company is a full-blown scam, taking advantage of the fact that long-distance moves are an emotional and stressful time for clients while they're moving for family reasons or new jobs, and hoping they'll cave and give in to higher prices. In my particular instance, they used intimidation as a tactic to make me back down and sign the contract by threatening to increase the price arbitrarily if I continued to question them. They are currently in possession of my entire life, which is not even worth the amount of money they are now demanding from me. On principle, I am planning to refuse to pay more than the original $3,100 that I agreed to in the contract and it is likely that they will dispose of quite literally everything I own. I used iMovers back in May and forgot to leave a review until a friend of mind was looking into moving companies. These guys showed up on time, move a ridiculously heavy amount of furniture (3 sleep sofas/recliners, 1 massive kingsize bed with frame, 8 dressers, 2 queen beds and 2 kids beds, along with multiple entertainment centers). Everything was packed and loaded into the truck as quickly as I could point to it. I had prepacked everything so it was just lift and pack. I had so much stuff that they also helped me load up a landscape trailer I had with other items that didnt fit into the truck because I underestimated how much furniture I had. The move was only around the corner to a temporary house while our other home is being built and I will 100% use them again, without question. the only real question is whether they will come back and help me because of how heavy all my items were. There was 1 bed frame support that snapped during the move, but it was actually a very cheap piece of wood, with a large knot that snapped through. They immediately brought it to my attention and didn't try to hide it, which they could have easily done. It was not their fault but I wanted to mention it to show their honesty and that they are good people. Hopefully I will be moving again within 6 months and they will be available to help me out. I hired iMovers through the u-haul site for my last move back in '12 (because of all the rave reviews on that site), and they did such a phenomenal job that it was a no-brainer who I was going to get this time. Let me preface this with the fact that I NEVER write reviews, in fact I think this is my first one. But when iMoversUSA did not show up for my move I was left with no choice. Wish I could give 0 stars. Since scheduling them 1 month prior to my move they did not once attempt to contact me. I texted and called multiple times in the 3 weeks before my move to try to confirm. Finally on the week before the scheduled date I got Lawrence on the phone. He seemed like a very reasonable guy and assured me that his crew would be there to help me for my long distance move the next week. He told me to text to confirm the address, which I gladly did. When I didn't get a response to the text I asked "sound good?" to which I got a "yup, that's perfect." Fast forward to the day of my move, to put things into context I do not have flexibility on timing as I have to start a job in another state promptly after moving there. 3pm start time comes around, nothing. 3:10pm - call and text. No response. 3:30pm - call and text multiple times. NO response. I have used moving help 8 times in the last 9 years with various moves and have never had this issue. Please, please, please if you want a company that will show up and get the job done NEVER BOOK iMoversUSA. iphones, ipads, itunes, all well and good; iMoversUSA - don't count on them, ever. So what did I do when they cancelled you may ask? Got back on movinghelp.com and booked a company that seemed relatively inexpensive but still with good reviews called Jay Hilo Last Second Movers. I called them and even though they had a job at 4:30pm they had a crew come by and load my truck despite the last minute request and their busy schedule. Incredibly kind and careful. We moved from an apartment in Bethesda to a nearby home with 4 levels. They were just as reliable, hard working, and honest. Lawrence & Mathew of IMOVERS were two of approximately twenty people who responded to a moving helper (Experienced) ad I placed under labor Gigs on Craigslist. Of course, most had experience. I choose Lawrence & Mathew because there email appeared the most sincere and was one of only two that was correctly composed. It was written by ambitious individual(s), who even told me they were working on a logo for their company, which I later learned was established more than a year. Nice business cards. But anybody can do that. I took a chance and hired Lawrence & Mathew, and, as the following will portray, am very pleased. After a few telephone calls and email confirmation, the men arrived on time the next day at my new town house in Ashburn. The job involved unloading a fully packed 26' rental van. Carry very heavy furniture up 3 steep flights of stairs. By the time the truck was a 1/3 of the way unloaded, I knew I had made a good choice hiring these two very hard workers. They knew what they were doing. Unlike others hired in the recent past, these men worked at a pace that got the job done correctly. They didn't "tire-out" of the way through the job as is so often the case. They took the time to put things where they belonged instead of just leaving belongings everywhere haphazard. They asked, repeatedly, where each item went as it was unloaded. They stacked boxes uniformly. They picked up the used pieces of tape, cardboard, cushioning, rope, and other packing material and put it in boxes as they went along. Very conscientiously they sorted and stacked furnishings of every type. The garden tools wound up together. The patio furniture was segregated. The household brooms and mops were all put in one place. They pointed out broken items in the truck. They organized parts for furniture, table legs, bed frames, mirrors, which was later assembled by them. The mostly very heavy furniture wound up inside my new home without ANY of it being bashed into the walls. Not an easy feat. These men have great attitudes. They did not put on phony dog & pony shows to set me up for tips. But here's what separates Lawrence and Mathew from most others: The men carried a long, heavy 3 drawer wide dresser up two flights of steep stairs to the second floor by literally flipping it - -end over end- - the last staircase. The drawers were removed. On the second floor landing - - after a brief pause - - Mathew looked down and spotted an expensive diamond bracelet in the drawer opening where the drawer was removed. Without hesitation, Mathew held the bracelet up and asked "what's this? He could have remained silent and pocketed it - - but didn't! The bracelet was lost 10 years ago! After ten years, finding this, my wife and I were shocked. Needless to say, the day ended happily for all. The moral to this story is that everything that happens on Craigslist isn't all bad. We tried using these guys to move some furniture around an office, and they failed to show. After being 45 minutes late, we called to see what the situation was. Larry answered and said he had been trying to get a hold of us and that no one was answering. Keep in mind that this is an office where 10 people are answering phone, calls do not get missed. No one here had a missed call or message from them. He said that he would reschedule with us, and when they did again they did not show up. Management is very unprofessional and unorganized. DON'T HIRE THEM and SAVE yourself the trouble! They were unprofessional and late. Also, they were constantly using their cellphone while moving my property. They broke my artwork and refused to reimburse me. I paid $130 for this artwork and was willing to accept $80; they didn't pay me a cent. Several days before even booking them I called and talked to Lawrence to see if they had 3 movers for 3 hours at 11am. Lawrence said "yes" and therefore I booked them on the day he said yes (which was several days before the move) and I paid on movinghelp.com for 3 movers for 3 hours. Less than 24 hours before the move on a Friday, I get a call that they don't have 3 movers for 11am and can only come with 2 movers at 11am. They said they can come at 1pm with 3 movers. Now its less than 24 hours before the move where are I am going to find new movers and I already PAID through movinghelp.com! So I couldn't cancel their services! The day of the move, they show up past 1pm with only 2 movers and have to taxi the third guy to my place. The other guy didn't show up till 2:00pm. Come to find out they said they took another job for someone in the morning and that person had booked them at the last minute. iMovers showed up early and stayed late! My wife was able to use iMovers while I was out of town. With two very capable gentlemen, our items were quickly taken up three flights of stairs. Kind to not charge extra though the timing of my rental box was not perfect. Showed up clean-dressed, and called ahead of time to let me know they were in traffic, regularly giving eta updates. Called the night before too as a check-in. Great to work with, easy to direct, no major issues, but made the move smooth. Most importantly, they offered for anything else once the material was in, they clearly wanted to be genuine in their work, and helpful in the move. Price was right, workers were nice. They then drove onto our storage unit and loaded everything from there! It al fit perfectly and there were many heavy and large items that I never would have been able to lift on my own. 1/7/15- Lawrence and Matthew arrive at my new house at 6:30am in San Diego, California and unload everything safely and efficiently in just over two hours!! They even helped set up the furniture and rearranged some items that I had told them previously would be in different rooms. These guys are awesome. Lawrence and (I think Michael? unfortunately blanking on the other person's name) are absolute pros. We had to have our fairly large 2 br apt packed into a U-Haul in under 2 hours -- and they managed it perfectly. Nothing was broken, they were both friendly and likeable, and the U-Haul was packed incredibly efficiently (seriously -- it was impressive). Furthermore, they do not short change you or rush you just to get to the next job. They waited at least a half hour for us because we had to grab another item to finish up packing -- they were not impatient or rude at all, and they EASILY could have just left and called it a day. Instead they worked with us to make sure everything made the trip safely (which it did). Finally, they are just great guys to give your business too. I can't recommend them enough! I have nothing but great things to say about iMovers and will most certainly use them for my next move. Matthew and Rashad did a phenomenal job from start to finish. Prior to the move, Matthew was extremely responsive via phone and email to confirm the details and answer questions. They arrived promptly, worked quickly and efficiently and acted with professionalism and friendliness throughout the entire process even though it was freezing and windy out. I was running behind 30 minutes in getting the u-haul and they did not charge me for that time they were waiting for me. They were very careful not to damage my fragile items and poorly assembled ikea furniture. Matthew "tetris-ed" every last item into my small truck and even moved some items in his personal car for me. Rashad graciously rode in the u-haul with me and helped me navigate through narrow alleys and turns. They even lifted a my 3 person couch up and over a deck because it wouldn't fit through a narrow doorway. It was pretty impressive. They truly went above and beyond in every aspect. Not to mention, they are priced at a fraction of what the full service (truck+mover) moving companies were charging. I paid $55/hr for 2 movers, 30 min increments. Hire them and I mean it! All the way from California, I researched movers in the DC area for my daughter, as she did not have the time, and I had too much of it, so you can guess how much effort, I put into finding the right team!! I chose Matt and Lawrence of IMovers, and then flew to DC to facilitate the move. These guys were amazing!! They packed up her household goods and loaded the U-Haul (in fact, picked up the U-Haul and the supplies) They never complained, and even moved containers of bricks. (They took a photo for their website to prove that they would absolutely move anything!!) Once to the new location (5 blocks trendier) they unloaded and placed everything with complete care, managing the entire move without damage or breakage. I have been using this company since Sept. 2011. I am a Realtor and Stage homes as well. Lawrence and Matt have done 7 moves for me thus far and I love them. They show up on time, work hard, are extremely careful moving everything and have the strength of pair of oxen. Their rates are very, very reasonably priced and very easy to work with personality wise. I use my own furniture moving pads and moving truck but I believe they will provide these if asked. They have loaded furniture and household goods for me into single family homes, condo's, townhouses, my storage units, and even helped a client move in a retirement/assisted living facility. Not a single item has been damaged, broken or mushed. I recently used Imovers for a small apartment move in DC, moving within 10 blocks, and the service was great. They kept me updated on their arrival time and arrived when they said they would. And best of all, their rates are extremely reasonable - after a lot of shopping around for movers, I found Imovers to have the best prices around. I ended up saving a lot of money in comparison to the quotes from other moving companies -- many of whom told me my move would take 3-4 hours...it ended up taking only 2! Do NOT support this company!! I scheduled a move with them and confirmed it the night before and again the morning of. The movers were supposed to arrive at 4:30 to help me load and unload my truck. No one showed at the scheduled time and I spent the next hour attempting to contact the movers. I finally got a hold of the gentleman who originally confirmed my move (named Lawrence) who informed that he could not in touch with the movers and that he was on a job, but he promised he would come and perform the job at 8 PM. Long story short, no one ever showed up to my move and they ignored my calls. Needless to say, I am incredibly angry at this company for stranding me during a move and not even calling me to apologize or offering a different day for a move. read more

I called iMovers three times on three different days two weeks before my move and left a message each time. It was only on the fourth call did Lawrence answer and say he was on another site, and to text him the info about the move. He said he would call me later to sort details. He never called, so I called him again a few days later and left yet another message. At 10:48pm on the night before my move, he called and said he had a "semi-emergency" and would not be able to move us. I am disappointed because of the solid reviews I saw here and elsewhere, and feel like this was unacceptable customer service. read more

Worst experience I've ever had with a company, ever. We went back and forth for weeks and weeks about the plan for my move and then finally settled on a time. I wanted to move on a Friday and was flexible and could do any time that day. They told me they could only do 7-9pm so we decided that would be the time. They called to confirm the night before and we spoke about all the details. Time came and went and no movers, and they stopped picking up my calls. Finally got through to someone at 7:45pm when they informed me they were not coming and never had planned to as of that morning. Just completely screwed me over on every level as I had to leave first thing the next morning. read more

I asked them to assemble an Ikea wardrobe. They came without the needed equipment, didn't know how to assemble it and caused major damages. They charged me 110$ for 2 hours. They didn't complete assembling the wardrobe and I had to do the rest of the work by myself. read more

Last August, my husband and I were moving from a 2 BR apartment in Frederick, MD to a 3 level townhouse in Reston, VA. Matthew and Lawrence were great -- we actually hired them through U-haul's online system, but you don't have to... They were very accommodating of our schedule as we were running behind with our packing. They loaded us in Frederick -- and thank goodness! I couldn't have managed getting the heavy stuff down the stairs or I'm sure I would have hurt myself. We also had a very heavy king size tempurpedic ergonocmic base bed (HEAVY!!!) which they managed really well. They drove the truck for us and unloaded it on the other end. Of course the big heavy bed had to go to the top floor and other stuff was on every other level. They were professional and were also entertaining! Moving is stressful, but they were so good and took such good care of our items it made it a ton easier! My husband and I have decided that even if we just decide to move the bed or other furniture from level to level, iMovers will be helping. They are worth every penny and then some. We used them again this past February to move from one 3 level townhouse in Reston to a 3 level townhouse in Herndon. Again it was an awesome experience. So thankful for great help at a great price! read more
