I love shopping Quality Paws. The shop has a large selection of quality dog foods (including Wellness, Evo, and Taste of the Wild), delicious treats for your pup (antlers, Blue Buffalo brand, Zuke's, and bulk section of chew treats), and a plethora of toys for large and small breeds alike. In addition, there are beds, dishes, collars, leashes, and pretty much everything you might need for your dog. There are free samples all around the store. Dogs are welcome inside the store, and its staff are friendly and helpful. Also, there is a large chunk of the store devoted to cats and their needs. Best of all, its prices are the same and sometimes better than those at Pet Smart. read more

Love this store! Great location and they carry tons of good kitty food, toys and treats, when often these kinds of stores tend to focus more on dogs and leave the felines with not much of an offering. Not this place! Will always go here to pick up my high quality kitty food. Make note, they do not have any bags in the store so if you are purchasing anything you could not carry, make sure to bring a bag. Unfortunately, my kitty passed, but I went to Quality Paws for all of his food and toys. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and helped me figure out some solutions for my finicky cat. Also, I finally found a natural wet food he would eat again (he began snubbing all wet food except Fancy Feast, so I gave him that crap because I wanted him to get more moisture in his diet.) Anyway, I found a wet food at Whole Foods that he would eat. The owner of QP was receptive to carrying the food for me if she could get distribution for it. I think there were some distribution barriers for smaller stores, but at least she was open to looking into it. Not only is this shop a great place for natural, non-"big corporation" junk posing as natural pet food (I am under the impression the owner DOES pay attention to smaller producers who then sell out to "BigCO"--and then discontinuing sales of such items), there is a real sense of a neighborhood shop here. The employees remember you when you become a regular for your pet needs. Don't have a single complaint! Plus, if you want to try your pet on something new, they are usually very nice about giving you some samples of things to try. AND! It is always friendly and helpful -- got great tips about dissuading our cat from clawing furniture. This is a great place if you are looking for different toys and treats than what the big chains carry. They carry natural treats for dogs from Colorado companies, which I love to support. The Bully sticks are the only things that will keep my pup entertained for hours! It might not have a card or bags, but I will shop here anytime over the big chains. I've been going to Quality Paws since their first location opened on Pennsylvania Street. The owner is an expert in pet nurtrition and advised me on feeding my dogs in a healthy way starting with puppyhood. As new foods have developed - particularly dry foods - the staff has helped educate me, can always answer my questions and never, ever give me the hard sell. Natural, healthy pet foods are expensive everywhere but I've found QP to be competetive if not cheaper than the chains on the one brand I buy that is carried elsewhere. DO NOT SHOP HERE! Yesterday I attempted to make a purchase. I waited as politely as I could while the malfunctioning software or merchant system attempted to debit my bank account for my purchase. Once it even said declined, which is impossible because the account has a positive cash balance, which I knew before entering the store. Believing it to be a malfunction, which it was, the associate tried running the transaction again. It again was taking a very long time. I requested it be cancelled. Then we tried doing it with a single item and still the system was not processing. So I asked it too be cancelled. After I left I checked my account and it showed that my account was in fact debited $16.95 that afternoon at the store! Although under the date my account shows pending the amount was already deducted from my available balance, as this is a Visa bank debit card and not a charge card. Thus I have $16.95 less available cash and nothing to show for it. I showed this to the manager and she said she couldn't do anything. In comparison I have also a debit with a veterinary office for a prescription which I ordered yesterday. It too currently shows pending, yet I hold the prescription in my hands now. And this was sent yesterday via US mail from Castle Rock. I am also in need of cat litter and bus fare for work next week. However, now I still need cat food! So now I cannot do all three! This afternoon I will be going to a different store to get my cat food, most certainly a better store than this and do without cat litter and bus fare for next week. However, this takes up more of my time and money. I am currently between jobs and have to earn money daily via day labor which is only minimum wage! I have been seriously inconvenienced! This store has lost a customer - permanently! I will not be setting foot back inside the store! The store will have $16.95 for which it did not have to give out any product! Hope they're happy. This store is paws-itively amazing!!! My pet goldfish (Layla) was seeming a little depressed and I was worried about her. I came to this store and found some additional entertainment features for her fish bowl. Almost immediately she perked up. Her appetite is better. She has more energy. She seems interested in her usual activities like swimming and looking at things again. The staff is very supportive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place to anyone who has a pet!!! read more

I used to love this place and get all my pet supplies here, but recently I've had nothing but bad experiences. One staff member was so clueless about what I was looking for that I found them first, and then she told me the wrong information about something I was looking at. They appear to carry a wide variety of high-quality cat foods and treats and toys for large dogs, but not much good dog food and not much on the way of treats for small dogs. Twice in the last few months, I've contacted them with a question or a concern and they haven't even bothered to respond. I love supporting local business, but if these guys don't pick things up seriously, I'll have no choice but to take my business elsewhere. read more

I really want to like this place. I was recommended by our dog behaviorist to visit Quality Paws to purchase various "smart" toys for our dogs and when I arrived I thought it would be my new favorite pet store to shop. However, after seeing what they were charging for some of these toys, I realized that I wouldn't be a frequent shopper here. Sure they have a lot of natural treats and food and I found those prices to be fair, however their dog toy prices were outrageous. I was under the impression their prices would be less than PetSmart, so I picked up three large Kongs for my dogs at $16.95 each. Much to my dismay, I later saw that PetSmart charges $11.00 for their Kongs and they are closer to $6.00 on the internet via Amazon. They do have a great selection of Premier smart toys for dogs, but again, I found these same items cheaper via Amazon. They have lots of collars, carriers, leashes, etc to choose from and from what I saw, those prices were reasonable. I would recommend Quality Paws for their food and treats, but NOT for toys. You will save money by going elsewhere. read more

I have been getting food for my dog here for the past year and I love this store. I moved to Denver about a year ago and was shopping for Northwest Natural brand of food that my dog loves. To my surprise this is not very common brand in Colorado and even further my dog would not eat anything else. After one store refusing to order for me and another saying they have it but by the evening I got there having it sold out I found Quality Paws where they had no problem ordering for me and I have been ordering through them ever since. They let me know when it is available and even help carry the food to my car when I need help. The food had a price increase recently and the store wanted to help me switch to a similar and cheaper brand. Me and my dog tried but no success (guess I just spoiled him too much ;) Quality Paws had no problem taking back any of the unused food after my failed attempt which was great. Their selection of treats and toys is awesome too so I often end up with more but not because of pushy sales. They are very friendly, explain and recommend so I always walk out of the store happy. read more

I came in the other day to get my dog fitted for a body harness. The woman helping me put the harness on wrong, and when I asked her if my dog was supposed to be limping like that she told me that it was normal, and that the harness shifts while the dog walks. I bought the harness and my dog walked out of the store with it on. It wasn't until we got home that i noticed how horribly put on the harness was. One leg was out of the harness, one was in, and the leash hook that was supposed to be on her back was in front of her chest. This, i thought was strange when she fitted my dog for it, but she assured me that that was how the harness was supposed to be, even though on the package of the harness the leash hook is resting on the dogs back. I refitted my dog for it and it fits her just fine, but Im appalled at the lack of professionalism. If you don't know what your doing, just dont do anything. Certainly do not pretend that you know what you are doing. My dog could have been hurt. Im very upset, and shall not be returning. Great costumer service and they all are so knowledgable about all the products they carry. Whenever I have had a problem with my kitties I can go in and they give me tips and info on how to help. I also have adopted my two kitties from them when Danielle did adoptions and it was such a positive experience all around. She told me about Swheat Scoop, the litter i LOVE and makes a world of difference, as well as taste of the wild, which helps shedding tremendously. read more

I have shopped here several times and have been pretty happy with all of my experiences. The inventory is great and the staff has always been helpful when needed, but not overbearing or judgmental. I have found it to be a bit more pricey than comparable stores, but I am willing to pay a little extra to be sure that I am able to get products that are good for my pet at a store where I don't feel like I have to explain why I am choosing certain products for my pet. Maybe I am the only one that feels this way, but it seems that everywhere I go everyone has an opinion about pet food/products. This wouldn't be a problem if they didn't give you these opinions, unsolicited, in a judgmental way. I have done my research and consulted with my vet, whose opinion I trust more than a stranger's. I appreciate the lack of this attitude at Quality Paws. A huge bonus is that they sell Sam's Yams, which occupy my dog help me keep my sanity without having to worry about any negative effects on my beloved dog. read more
