When my daughter got her bags after checking in, she went to her room and the man who checked her in was IN HER ROOM!!! I had been working on a truck in all day in Houston and was filthy and just looking for a place to take a hot shower and lay my head. No hot water at all, ever. Took two cold showers and couldn't get clean. The lobby and break areas are both tuned to Faux News so loud you can't enjoy the crappy continental breakfast. Terrible hotel. "Hot Breakfast" consisted of toast or waffle. Halls smelled like cigarette smoke even tho it's a smoke free hotel. No ice machine that I could find. Towels were filthy. We booked on their parent company Choice Privilege for a 4 night stay over the July 4th weekend. Positives: room was spacious. Even with an unexpected additional adult male we weren't cramped. Negatives: worse stay ever! Anywhere! Front doors broken so lobby area was same temperature as outside. In Texas in July hard pass. A/C in the hallway had fallen off the wall and the one in room rattled so hard it was ready to fall out of wall. There was a bag over the smoke alarm. Could not connect to the Wi-Fi even with front desk help. TV remote only half controlled the TV. To change the volume or turn it off you had to do it manually. The pool was broken. The ice machine was broken ( but we could get ice ourselves at the gas station) Grain only breakfast options. Oh yeah there was police evidence tape still on the door jam.. :O!! At night 3 they lost power and told us they could not refund us to allow us to obtain another room elsewhere. Our belongings were locked away in the room till the next day. We obtained another room at 1am after learning ourselves power wouldn't be restored that night. Next morning obtained belongings and they said couldn't check me out early because our reservation was for another 2 days and they still couldn't help with a refund. It's now been 20 days and still no refund. Disappointment in Choice Privilege and in their hotel. If I could zero as a mark I would. read more

They need to close down. I booked a last minute reservation at this Hotel because my son is moving into his dorm at Sam Houston on 8-16-2024. I told the representative on the phone what my expectations were for a Hotel and it has to be nice. LIES!!!!! As soon as I pulled up to the Hotel it gave Motel 6 vibes. As I checked in it was humid and had a smell. As we got on the elevator it was dark and humid. I got to my room and it had the same smell as the lobby area. I turned my flashlight on to check the mattress for bedbugs because that's something I do at every Hot I stay at. As I got to the 2nd bed, I kept seeing a red spot. I pulled the fitted sheet off and the was a blood stain on the mattress pad .There was chips and trash still on the carpet. And Capri Suns packets behind the bed. I wish I could give 0 stars on this Hotel. They should be shut down. When I went downstairs to turn my key in the Receptionist apologized and said she could give me a better and bigger room. If I could give this property no stars I would, I needed wired internet access and the front desk guy was nice enough to let me try different rooms. The rooms were dusty like no one had cleaned them in a long time, curtains were pinned together with a thumb tack needlessly to say the stay was paid for but while I was trying to get wired in to the internet the team lead decided to cancel my whole stay without my knowledge or consent. It has been a nightmare for Expedia to try and get a hold of someone so they can verify the people. I've been emailing their general manager email and no response it has been almost 2 weeks. I had a reservation for this hotel, I showed up and waited at front desk 20 minutes. I kept ringing the bell and tried to call the front desk. The phone was off the hook. I went to the office door and knocked, the door came open and the lady was sleeping on the floor!! I got my room and it was a place to crash. I have photos to support all of the following. - Landscaping neglected for a long time. - Burned out light bulbs in entrance; others flickering throughout entire hotel - No one at desk for check in. Had to ask housekeeping to get someone. - Pool out of service. When room was booked over a month before, I was told it would be ready. At that time the pool was drained. Found out it's been out of service over 2 years! Management lied!! - Ice maker on 3rd floor out - Wi-Fi has very poor quality and didn't work most of the time - Side entrance does not work - elevator definitely needs service. Sounds like cables could break any moment. Room 324 - Air not on when first arrived - Musky odors - Phone in room doesn't work - Burns on bench seat - Bathroom filthy; sink drained slowly; no tub stopper - no facial tissue, just empty box - 2 queen beds in our room; sheets on frost bed had blood stain on them - Housekeeping tried to come in our room even though we had the do not disturb sign out. Good thing I had the door locked! - The girl at the front desk (Christina I believe) was rude! When asked if we could get our towels exchanged (for the 2nd time), she told me to come get them at the desk. Breakfast - Food cold, biscuits undercooked, still a bit doughy - Coffee very weak like it's watered down - Milk spoiled. Found out later from a new employee when she went to replace it, the milk was expired so she threw it all out. When management was notified he told her to buy some herself on her own time. She then said all the food is frozen, dated over a year old. Their toaster is out so she had to microwave the hash browns so they turned to mush. She also said the manager that told us he was fairly new here has actually been here over 3 years. Obviously the veteran staff and management do not care about this hotel in the least. Check In went fine. Went to our room you could smell the musty pet smell before you opened the door. The room was HOT AND STINKY when we went in. Turned on the air sounded like the room was going to take off it was so loud and rattling. Went to get ice ... no ice ... went to take a shower... very little pressure ... you had to stand directly in front of the TV to maybe get the channels to work. we were told at check in they were serving cereal , waffles muffins coffee and juice for breakfast. Go to breakfast at 8am no coffee made , no juice at all , they were out of milk , no plates or bowls to eat. Just avoid this hotel . Service and quality are seriously lacking. read more

My two kids and I attended a concert in Houston. It was 1230am when we left. We were tired. We did not want to drive 5 hours back home. My son is a choice rewards member. He had enough points to book us a room. We were not able to do it online because check in time was 3pm and we needed to check in now. We called the hotel. We never got an answer. We went to the hotel. No one was at the front desk. We looked for someone for at least 20 minutes. I called again. Pressed one for reservations. We finally got someone on the phone. After talking to her 15 minutes she told us to go back inside and find the worker and let her talk to her. We went in. I guess she finally woke up and came out of her office to the front desk. She just looked at us with a blank stare. We told her we would like to check in. I guess she was still asleep. She just stared at us. We explained we did not have a reservation. We told her the CSR on the phone wanted to speak to her. She wouldn't talk to her. We explained again that we wanted to check in now. That we wanted to use our points. She said, you can't check in without a reservation. She told us to make it online. My son got on the website, reserved a room using all of his points. She then said, you can't check in till 3pm. It was useless talking to her. She said I can't do anything I just work here. Come back at 3pm. We said forget it. We attempted to cancel the reservation but were unable to. We walked out. We were still on the phone with the CSR. Explained to her what happened. We told her we were just going to drive home. Asked if she could cancel the reservation so my son could get his points back. She said no. She was as useless as the lady at the front desk. I'm sure this review is useless. After reading other reviews this seems to be their norm. I will never again stay at a Choice Hotel. I was booked to stay here by my place of employment. After reading the reviews I packed cleaning supplies and hoped for the best. The front lobby was a lil dirty, mud being brought in from workers (??). Check in went smoothly. I was on the first floor and heard everything that was going on in the lobby and outside. We checked into the hotel 11 Oct at about 4:30PM. Upon arriving at the hotel it was noticed the entire lobby area was being renovated. The furniture was pushed to the center and there were cords hanging from the wall. We proceed to our room to drop our stuff off. The first thing I did was turn on the AC. We then left the hotel for dinner. Upon return (about 9PM) I noticed the AC was no longer running. I went over to it and tried a couple of things but had no luck in getting it to run continuously. My friend went down stairs and asked for a second room. The person at the front desk gave us the keys to the room next door but told us to try and re-set it as the hotel was under renovation and it had not been re-set in a while. We tried but with no success. We checked out the second room and upon entering the AC was already running. Did not shut off. I noticed that the shower head in the bathroom was missing (laying on the counter) and there was nothing but a pipe coming out of the wall in the shower. I placed the shower head on the pipe and all was fine (so we thought). We changed rooms and I proceeded to take a shower. Once in the shower I noticed there was no water pressure. I removed the shower head and just let the water come out of the pipe. Approximately three hours later the front desk called and stated there was water leaking into the room below ours. My friend told them about the shower issue. They wanted us to move rooms (it was about 1130PM) but myself and my grandson were already asleep so they gave my friend the key to the first room we had and asked him to shower there. A gentlemen brought the key to our room and my friend showed him what was going on in the shower. The guy ( don't know his name) said something to the effects that the water stopped leaking once we removed the shower head because when using the shower head the water was going back into the wall because the shower head was not installed properly. The next morning we showered in the room with the shower head off since we were told the water did not leak when we showered this way. We went on our day and upon return that evening my friend asked the front desk if they had fixed the shower. The person at the front desk did not know what we were talking about. We went upstairs and showered with the shower head off and went to bed. The next morning upon check out the owner Lizzie was at the desk when we were checking out. She accused us of doing the damage to the room below stating that it was our fault and that we should have called the front desk. My friend then asked if he could go take pictures because we were afraid they were going to try and charge us. He asked that the manager go with him. Upon seeing the shower the manager stated that it was their mistake and that they would not charge us. Initially they were going to charge us without even telling us which is illegal. She then took my friend into the first room to show him that the AC was working properly. My friend stated the AC looked like a new one was put in. This was just the main issue we had. We also found a dead roach on the blanket in the bed. The walls were dirty in both rooms. The pool was green. There was no ice maker on the floor with a note posted that renovations were being completed. The furniture on the 2nd floor balcony was all pushed together and not able to be used. Upon check in the internet was down and our credit card numbers taken down manually. The first room we were in could not be secured as the lock that you put across the door was missing completely. The overall cleanliness of this hotel should be a negative number for the price paid ($79/per night). The owner was rude and very accusative towards us. The hotel is not clean and the listed amenities unusable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.o read more

We stayed here the weekend of September 12. 1. The smell of paint was really bad on the first floor. 2. Beds were really hard 3. Walls were dirty 4. Only a couple of local channels on TV and a lot of qvc and other shopping channels or rent on demand. (We just watched Netflix on our phone) 5. Breakfast was never ready on time supposed to be at 7 but most likely 8:30. 6 high incidental fee that I still have not got back yet. Sorry quality inn but you have lost me as a customer unless it's an emergency and there is absolutely nothing else. read more

Stayed here on Friday, October 21, 2016. WORST experience at this hotel which I've stayed in yearly for almost 10 years. At check-in I asked for late checkout at 1. This is one hour after normal checkout. Only asked bc we were doing race next morning and wanted extra time to shower after event. Lady said oh, I don't think so but I can ask... Who did she ask because no one conveyed message to me. Left to go to dinner and key no longer worked; had to have reset. Got up Saturday morning, left, 20 minutes later on return, key didn't work. 3rd floor had large industrial fan blowing right off elevator entire stay. Side entry door was propped open w trash an filled w water and cigarette butts. Hotel room was misconfigured w living room at rear and beds at front; not logical. Breakfast was gross especially coffee. Staff seemed ill informed or helpful. Horrible stay. read more

If you are staying overnight in Huntsville, you will enjoy your stay at this Quality Suites hotel. A tremendous value. The rooms are immaculate AND breakfast is included. Most free breakfast isn't worth eating, this was worth getting seconds. The bacon could be a bit crispier for my taste, but the eggs were moist and the biscuit w/gray were better than most restaurants. The staff were very helpful and friendly, so nice after a long day of travel. We will definitely stay here again when we are in Huntsville! read more

Whatever you do don't stay here! Find another place to stay when in Huntsville, TX I can live with the cheap, hard mattress, but I cannot live with the rude, incompetent employees and extra charges on my credit card for a missing pillow that I did not take. The manager needs to take a hard look at their inventory procedures and perhaps do background checks on their employees. I had to request being moved to another room because the TV and telephone did not work in the first room assigned. The clerk didn't like to have to do that and got snippy with me. Several days later there is a $35 charge on my credit card. When I called to check on it they said the manager charged me for a missing pillow. When I asked to talk to the manager they said he was in California, didn't know when he would be back and they couldn't call him, but would let him know that I called. . . It's been a week and no word from him. I travel a lot for business, having stayed over 90 nights in Choice Privileges hotels this year alone. I try to go to reputable hotels to avoid problems like this. My advice is to avoid this hotel. read more

The room I was given had some sort of sand or silt in the tub, so I let the nice young lady at the front desk know. She offered to move me, and that room had the same problem, plus no door latch. Went back to original room, and the air conditioner was not only loud and vibrated the window and walls, but even set at 60° for two hours, it didn't cool the room. It was semi comfortable near the bed, but the rest of the room was as hot as the hallway, which was stifling. Finally moved to another room. Same silt in the tub, but it was cool inside. There were no wash cloths, and I later discovered, no plug for the tub, and the water barely got above tepid, even with it turned all the way to hot. One roll of toilet paper that was 3/4 gone and no spare. I had to go down to the front desk for more. Not fun after the experience I was having from my take out from Raising Cane's! This hotel needs an overhaul, and housekeeping needs to be addressed. read more

A poorly-run hotel. Showed up after the 3:00 pm check-in time and was told my room was not ready because only one room cleaner showed that day. They did find a different room, but we had to walk down a flooded hallway to get to it. They told me they had a plumbing issue. A little later I find out there is no hot water in the hotel and there wasn't any the night before either. I wasn't told this at check-in. They assured me a plumber was fixing it ASAP and it would be working that evening. There was still NO hot water the next morning when I went to get coffee and inquire. I was informed I would be offered a discount for my stay. When I checked out I was asked if I wanted the discount rate. Really? She didn't know what it was and said she would have to ask the manager and they would email my receipt later. I had to call them when I got my email receipt because they forgot the discount of a whole $20. What a terrible place to stay. read more

My room was nice and it was clean BUT I give this place a poor review due to things that it lacks that are EASILY found at other competing hotels in the immediate area. First, it is in a poor location away from popular shopping and dining locations on a ONE-WAY access road. The next turnaround road is more than two miles down which means that you must drive the two miles down, back and then some to get to that area. Second, there is NO HBO or any other premium TV channel although printed on the channel brochure. Was told it was dropped. Even ONE-STAR hotels have a premium channel. SMH. Third, you must access the building from the main entrance. That means you are walking the length of the building in the rain and/or heat when the SMALL front parking is full. Lastly, the hot water temp is turned too low where I took a shower with the knob turned completely to hot to be tolerable. read more
