It's hard to even find words after polishing off a pizza from here. Actually speechless. I am a true connoisseur of all foods and especially pizza and wow wow wow. This place is off the charts. Glad to see that GR has a legit Detroit style pizza place, other than Buddy's, which IMO is OVERRATED! We got 3 assorted pizzas delivered that took care of the meat-eaters, the vegetarian, and the vegan. My sister and her family had ordered their pizza before so they knew what to order and have enjoyed their pizzas before . I had the MC5 which had the pepperoni and it had a nice flavor to it. Personally I could've used it cooked a little longer, but I was the only one that felt that way! The delivery guy was very personable, and the pizzas came pretty quick and he was able to find my sisters house which isn't always easy as it's kinda hidden on Reeds Lake. read more

I wanted to try out a new pizza place, a friend recommended it and it seemed like a good spot. The pizza I tried was very good, but I had an interesting experience the second time I went there. I noticed a manager (I ass) being mean to and/or yelling at one of the employees and it wasn't a good scene. I liked the pizza but I will not be going there again. There is no reason to be mean to anybody anywhere, especially in a public setting, like a small restaurant where customers can also see/hear things going on in the back. read more

We do not live around Easttown so it took a second to navigate for parking to pick-up the pizza; however, it was worth it! We tried The Nene and a gluten free Deluxe. The Nene had a golden crust but the inside of the dough was light and fluffy. The sauce was thick and amazing (daughter said it had a little spice in the pizza) and cheese was perfectly melted. The gluten free pizza crust was absolutely fantastic. It was thin and cooked to perfection. Normally thin GF crusts become like hard flaky crackers but this pizza still had a good flop to it and there was no GF gooeyness that accompanied that. The only disappointing thing is that the GF has far less sauce than their regular pizzas (maybe some on the side would have been a good alternative since the crust can't handle sauce overload). The dining area is cluttered with benches, tables, food/product storage so it did not appear to be a place to sit down and eat your food but we had ordered pick-up so that wasn't a deterrent for us. It was alright, between a 3 and a 4. I ordered 2 pizzas, 1 salad, 1 wings, 2 sides of ranch. *take out* I got the Pepperoni and Shrooms pizza. We ordered this for a gathering expecting these pizzas would feed 2-3 people per pizza-ish. The pizzas are much smaller then they appear. Pepperoni Pizza smelt amazing in the car, I opened the box and I looked down and sad a puddle of water forming at the apex of the pizza. Then lift the pizza and sauce this watery tomato sauce all over the bottom seat of my car. When I got home to eat I noticed the edges off all the pepperoni slices were now soggy, probably due to the water from the marinara sauce, but it only was the very edges of all the slices, so once you got to the middle of each slice it was perfectly fine. Anyways the pepperoni did taste good, I would order this again and hope it was just a mistake or a new person doing the take out order. Shroom Pizza also smelt amazing in my car, it however didn't have the same water problem. It stayed a dry pizza. Off a single slice I enjoyed the shrooms pizza more, but I think I could have eaten the entire more of the pepperoni pie. The Shroom pie was very rich and filling, it was delicious but only in small quantities. I would get it again but only if it was a large party. Atlas Salad, a basic house salad with a red wine vinaigrette dressing. Minus points for tossing the salad before hand, it gets the salad soggy. It was fine, nothing special. 1 Pound Jumbo Wings, Surprisingly my favorite item. Sort of an Asian, lemon pepper wing. Those did not go uneaten, if I lived slightly closer I would go just for the wings. But $15.50 for 6-7 wings is a lot, thankfully they were great! Ranch sucked, very thick ranch, not your typical pizza ranch. I will be back but not running back. read more

The food is fine, the price is not. The dough is a bit lighter than Buddy's. Overall, Buddy's is a better pizza at a better price. You get more options, too. I imagine the only reason people are raving about this place over and above Buddy's is because they're being contrarian. I read all the rave reviews and thought, "Cool, a better Detroit pizza than Buddy's, let's do it. WOW THOSE PRICES ARE INSANE. Anyway, let's just try it, it sounds like it's worth it." Then I tried it. We did the MC5, Cheesy breadsticks, and Zoe Zoe Zoe. They were fine. The sauce tastes quite fresh. The breadsticks were slightly basil-forward, and lighter dough than the pizza. I like Buddy's better. And even if people like Quarantino's better, there just isn't enough difference to actually be head over heels about this place like so many are. Stick with Buddy's. But this place is fine. UPDATE: Came here again, got a The Nene and a Hunky Dory. This visit just confirms my previous review. The crust remains light and baked well, the pizzas are...fine. The Nene didn't have much smoked flavor to the ham. Only tasted it once. Wasn't much ham flavor in general. Wouldn't get this one again, because it really didn't taste like anything. The Hunky Dory was OK, but not nearly as spicy as I was thinking it might be, in flavor or in heat. The honey is on the side, and it's fine, but definitely honey, so quite sweet. So while these pizzas sounded interesting, the reality was that the flavors were a complete letdown. So I'm going to repeat what I said previously: Buddy's is better, and cheaper. The sauces and cheeses are more robust and flavorful, and I just can't think of a reason to order from Quarantino's if Buddy's is an option. Stick with Buddy's. read more

Just had my second visit to Quarantino's. This place is AMAZING! I ordered the MC5 again and it was just as delicious as I remembered. Love the super crispy edges and perfect pepperoni. I was seriously so excited to learn that a pizza joint in GR had gluten free, vegan pizza! While I'm not typically GF or vegan, I wanted to try it out. We got the chicken pesto pizza (regular) and the gluten free vegan Maui bird (Hawaiian pizza) and was pleasantly very impressed! Vegan cheese is very creamy compared to typical mozzarella with a cheese pull but both were quite good! Any time we want Detroit styled takeout pizza, we'll always go for Jet's because it's quite simple and easy going but Quarantino's is going to be added to our list being local to GR! The gluten free pizza comes as a round but I heard that the vegan pizza can be square. I'm excited to try that one next. Ordered take out from here for the 1st time. Ordering online was very easy and timing was great. The staff was very kind and we picked up the order once we arrived. We do not live close to the restaurant but the food was still pipping hot when we got home. We did feel the cost for the amount was a bit steep however the pizza taste like it was homemade. We've been wanting to go here since the plandemic. It was fantastic. I got the Quarantino Delux and my wife got the Zoe Zoe Zoe. Both were great! The delux had a burst of tomato that was amazing. It wasn't so much of a sauce but more like crushed tomatoes with red peppers. The sausage and pepperoni were great too. As for the ZZZ, the blend of goat cheese, caramelized onion and balsamic reduction were delicious. I HIGHLY recommend you find your way to Quarantino's. Idk if quarantinos is the best Detroit pizza in the state of MI but they are def worth me giving them 5 stars all day everyday. Greg our server was super. He steered in the right direction for beer choices (quite important if you ask me !). He was extremely polite and somewhat professional (I'm kidding he was excellent) The place itself isn't fancy by any means and it doesn't need to be bc here it's all about serving the people excellent quality food executed to the highest degree of culinary quality. Now as for the food, pls make sure you get their meatball app. They grind their own meat and of course make the slightly picante sauce from scratch. Chicken wings are served whole (wing drum still connected.) they are sourced locally I believe from the Amish. Lastly but def not least the Detroit pizza. The dough absolutely shines here which is absolutely necessary to have a killer dough in order to make a killer Detroit pizza. Their smoked bacon is so perfect on the pizza and has a good amount of smoke which plays great with the richness of dough and cheese. The strips of pizza sauce are bright but not acidic. By the way they smartly roast mushrooms so your pie won't be a watery mess. The pie my wife and I split had smoked bacon, caramelized onions and roasted mushrooms. read more

I finally made it out to Quarantino's! I find the ironic name of this place apropos to current pandemic conditions. Anyhow, I absolutely love their pizza. I think pizza tastes are unique to the individual but for me I was blown over by the uniqueness of their crust. It was soft and fluffy like the kind you get from no knead bread. The sauce was tasty and cheese amount good. My husband didn't prefer the sweetness but he is the type that likes a flat crust, layers of cheese and extra salt. I'm more into the texture and a moderate balance between sauce and cheese. Their cheese sticks were also very yummy - different as there was dill on it and they served with a ranch and marinara sauce. They came up with a great wordplay name and are knocking out some bada$$ pizzas and more! They are currently a takeout and delivery place ONLY - no seating for dine in. There is only one size of pizza, but it's square and it's Detroit style, which makes it the BEST. They only have a handful of different pizzas to choose from, or you can build your own.
