This winery is now one of our favorites! Great ambiance with outdoor seating looking onto the lake and the service is tops! The wine is also very good. I'd definitely recommend!

We were greeted by friendly hostess, given wine glasses, cheese, and menus and let us pick where we wanted to sit...we sant on the front porch overlooking majestic views of Cayuga Lake..our order was promptly taken and delivered by the friendliest staff!! Can't wait to go back!!

Beautiful winery! It had a great view sitting outside looking at the lake while trying out a few wines. They do not have a large list of wines and there was one not available by the bottle but the views and the friendliness of the staff is worth stopping here.

It's a long review but worth reading! First, it's a NEW winery. We spoke in length with Gary (Owner), Brian (son) and Allyson (co-worker) about the wines and the winery. Their wines are going on year 2 or 3 (?). They are growing cab Franc and pinot noir. They said first bottle will be April 2022. The view was amazing (even in the rain). Sitting on the porch you can choose rockers, a table for 4 or 6 or the fire pit area. We sat at the 4-top for a really competitive game of checkers...lol. He liked the Rose and she liked the Cask Reisling. Both good but can't wait to come back in the spring for the new estate wines! We will be returning with our snacks to sit in the deck, get a bottle and sip some more!

We had a great tasting seated outside with our dog, enjoying the wine and views on a beautiful Fall morning. The staff was polite and helpful.

    Breath taking scenery!

Such beautiful atmosphere and scenery. It's a toss up between which is better the views or the building itself. We came for a bachelorette weekend and the tasting was perfect. Only comment is the "charcuterie boards" are a little small but the wine is delicious. Had a great time highly recommend.

Our favorite place to have a glass of wine! The view of Cayuga Lake from the covered patio is beautiful. It's very spacious inside and absolutely gorgeous. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We visit this winery regularly.

The bartender/waitress customer service is unacceptable; okay so when my gf walked into the bar she walked up and sat in the middle waiting to order flight of ciders. The bartender ignored her. There was a couple that was there before my gf so she took care of them (understandable). There were two other couples that walked in after my gf, they then sat at each end of the bar to order (there's 3 orders to be taken atp and my gf should be next). The bartender skipped my gf even tho she was there first, waiting right in the middle area of the bar to order (bartender walked each end of the bar and ignore the person in the middle? ) After she took care of the couples, another couple walked in and she immediately took care of them again "u closing ur tap? Let me help u" (while my gf still waits). After everyone got their drinks and walked outside, my gf was able to order the drinks. Idk what was the issue, my gf and I were the only POC there (there is a racist reputation online for the town of Penfield. Look it up) I hate to say that was the reason but idk. The view there was very beautiful but sad we had unfortunate experience. #ZeroTipExperience

A husband and wife own this place and they couldn't have been more friendly and hospitable. They had. A nice selection of dry and some sweet wines so there was something for every taste. We each did a tasting and really enjoyed the Chardonnay and the Riesling. They also have a space here for events. It's beautiful so it's defiantly a perfect spot for that if you are in need.

We made it to the other side of the lake! Our adventure today took us to Izzo's White Barn Winery,…read morea small but welcoming spot tucked into the beautiful Finger Lakes wine region. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a cozy, down-to-earth atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We started our tasting with their unoaked Riesling, a bright and lively wine crafted from grapes grown along the shores of Seneca Lake. It had an enticing aroma and a clean, crisp finish that really highlighted the natural fruit flavors. Next up was the LaCrescent, a white varietal that was refreshingly dry with a subtle citrusy edge and just the right amount of acidity--perfect for sipping on a cool afternoon. After that, we moved on to the Cayuga White, a semi-sweet offering that had a beautifully smooth mouthfeel and a well-balanced sweetness, making it an easy favorite for those who enjoy wines with a hint of fruit-forward character. Finally, we wrapped up our tasting with the Maréchal Foch, a deep, dry red with rich notes of black cherry and a velvety smooth finish. This one stood out as a great example of how lesser-known hybrid grapes can still deliver bold and elegant flavors. During our visit, we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner (at least, we believe it was the owner!), who shared some insight into the winery's operations. He explained that they grow three to four different grape varietals in their own vineyards, while supplementing with additional grapes sourced from other vineyards throughout the Finger Lakes region. It was clear that there's a strong sense of community among winemakers in the area--he described it as a "big happy family" that collaborates to support each other through every step of the winemaking process. One of the most interesting tidbits we learned was about the live musician performing that day--not only does he provide entertainment for visitors, but he also plays a huge role in the winemaking process, handling 80-90% of the work at the winery! It was incredible to see such a hands-on approach, where passion for both music and winemaking came together in such a unique way. As for the owner himself, he had an infectious sense of humor--quick-witted, engaging, and full of personality, he made our experience even more memorable. The winery is relatively small and appears to have limited hours, especially in the winter when it's only open on Saturdays. If I remember correctly, they may extend to two days a week during the busier months, but it's definitely one of those hidden gems that's worth navigating to if you're in the area. All in all, Izzo's White Barn Winery turned out to be a fantastic stop, offering a delightful mix of great wine, warm hospitality, and local charm. It's the kind of place where you don't just taste wine--you get to experience the heart and soul behind it.
