I'd have to say this is the best Library in the AV. It's clean with updated and like new facilities. The space is well maintained and you don't have to worry about some of the downsides that come with being a public county library. IMHO this library offers a more welcoming and safe environment than the Lancaster library. I have yet to venture over to the children's side but it seems pretty well stocked for the little tiny humans. Ample parking, study rooms, meeting rooms and outlets make this a great place to study or get some work done. They also stay pretty active in the community by offering different events, and there's a super cute coffee shop down the street so you can grab a drink before going to study, etc. read more

What a great brand new public library. The grand opening was November 18, 2016. Its across the street and down a block, behind Van Dam Farms/Broke Bit, off the main road. Its nice and warm inside during the middle of December. The atmosphere is so nice and roomy. Plenty of comfortable arm chairs and several study desks with chargers at every desk. The library is split in half, with one side dedicated to children's books and a child play area and the other side dedicated to fiction and nonfiction. I was surprised to find that the majority of the books were paper back and all brand new and current. I don't know how the library managed to get such a great selection of new books, but I felt like I was in a book store not a library. They even had 3 Korean language books I was looking for. They only have self check out so you will need a library card and a pin number. Check out times seem to be 21 days. I will definitely be going here often in the future to get away and read a good book or to study. So glad Quartz Hill got a new library. read more

Ah! As promised - a review! Sorry about the bookmark on the records, but this place is seriously hard to pinpoint and furthermore had some real cruddy hours. Open until 8pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 5pm all other days; closed on Sundays. The first time I went looking for this library without a GPS and went miles too far into Quartz Hill from Lancaster amidst dusty dirt road construction that slowed down traffic but still did not allow me to find the library. The second time my GPS led me to .... somewhere near the library. Determined to find it this time, I wandered back and forth on 50th street between Avenue M-4 and L-12 for ten minutes before spotting the building. The building is pretty much nondescript, about the size of a single classroom on an elementary campus and slightly reminiscent of an old fashioned lock smith. Keep yer eyes peeled! The parking is small but decent. The library itself is comprised of two rooms, a kid's room and an everything else room. Computers are clustered in the center before the librarian desks and seem to be consistently occupied. There were maybe about 10 people in the everything room and it felt crowded. Random tables and chairs litter the library in an effort to create nice study and reading corners, but the overall effect reminds one very much of cram school. The librarians are frank and uninterested, at one point talking animatedly to one another and sobering up so completely as she turned to me I wondered if I had offended her by interrupting her chatter to ask a question. The other librarian, when checking out my materials, gave me a dry smile then resumed a bored look as she quickly turned away. I don't feel I am being too sensitive. For all my hating, the library had a decent selection. I judge library selections based on the copies of Harry Potters available - 6 copies of 4 books - and the Tales of Beedle the Bard! + 1 star. And fliers were up for gingerbread house making festivities in December. But I didn't want to talk to the librarians. And I thought I liked all libraries - what a shame. read more

Come here to study and they only have 2 study rooms. They only allow you to use them for 2 hours max and they kick you out of the room even if no one is waiting. Its a power trip to be honest. If no one is waiting and the other room is empty its completely unnecessary to ask us to leave the study room. I study with classmates and have the privacy of the room helps to not disturb other people in the library that are trying to enjoy the quiet environment. I hope they replace the employees that are determined to enforce their power trip. read more

I was the only person on queue outside for their sidewalk services and was told to make an appointment to pick up items they told me (by email) were ready for pick up. But she put me on hold and said after a few minutes that she has the items. I repeat, there was no one else but me waiting on queue. The library is small and it takes a few steps from where they keep the Hold items to the door. Waited a few minutes, no one came. While waiting, two patrons on the other side walk up to the door and waited for assistance. No one came, so they also left. read more

This library is small, but it makes up for the size with gorgeous facilities and a great selection of books. The study rooms are bright and soundproof, and the computer area has outlets. There's also a big meeting room with a kitchen, which I feel is a nice bonus. The librarians are helpful and kind and the self-checkout is easy to use. I seriously love this library. I live in Lancaster but come out to Quartz Hill just for this branch. read more

This is the best library I have ever went to. There is excellent service and very very awesome people. they have all the books you need. They even have a play place for little baby's. And if you need their help they are there I hope you go there because if you aren't you are missing a heck of a lot of fun. read more

We use this library often for any school research that we are unable to locate online, and just so the kids can actually have the opportunity of bound books to read; rather than eBooks all the time. It is rather small, but it makes it cozy since there is an area to sit and read. Two rooms; little kids room and then everyone else, made it rather nice when the kids were younger, and now for those of us with older kids. I can understand others being concerned about the size; however, since it is a public library, and not funded by owners, we don't complain because we actually get to have a library in our area. read more

We came here for a girl scout event..the room we used was perfect..stocked with adequate tables and chairs..a kitchen to clean out utensils.air conditioner that we had control of...the best part was the tables all had outlets to be able to plug in our hot glue guns without a safety hazard of extension cords everywhere..lots of space for all our girls to work on their project comfortably read more

Everyone in this library is very kind and helpful. They have a descent selection of books and whatever you can't find will be there from another library in less then 7 days. The only thing is it is a bit small which is why I rates it 4 stars but everything else is great. read more

I visited this branch after reading the other reviews posted here. I made a little extra effort to greet and make friendly conversation with the staff. In return, they were delightfully friendly back to me. The library is small so it is probably best to visit Monday through Friday during normal workday hours and before kids get out of school to maximize on the quiet time and limited work spaces. The book collection seems to be up on the latest trends, though popular books will likely be on hold. The wifi is decent. The only major bummer is the lack of electric outlets. Meaning, your study session is only as good as the battery on your laptop. read more

While small and and a limited selection itself, the library in Quartz Hill is measured by the the friendliness and competency of the staff itself. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful and very happy to assist. Which more than makes up for the size, or lack thereof of the library. Love the place. read more
